It seems to be some sort of Premium access deal. How drastically does it affect the way I can approach the game?

Well~

If you are to be an active and frequent player, Ele-Passes are more than worth it. You can do anything without the wait for a full 30 days. Super worth it if you love to keep grinding levels or missions for more money~ c:

An elevator pass may be worth it, if you plan to play many, many hours in the near future. As Dahkura said, you can do anything you want without the wait for 30 days --- except craft items that require a lot of CE. Consider this alternative:

Buy some CE. Then start a second account (not a second knight on the same account). The first account is marked as "paid", so the second account has its own mist energy stream. So now you're getting 200 mist energy per day. I don't know about you, but this is more than enough playing time for me. So you get tons of playing time forever --- not just 30 days --- and you get tons of CE.

Furthermore, if 200 mist energy per day isn't enough playing time, then spend some of your CE playing. Very soon you will reach the middle of the game --- around the Sovereign Slime mission --- where you enter a positive feedback loop. At that point, you can start earning crowns faster than you spend CE, and you can play forever on just 100 mist energy per day anyway.

profitz are us

Vana farming can be 10x as reckless with little backlash cause you have mist.
No more limitations on how many levels/missions you can do.
3600 free CE effectively..
ele pass can get you from 2* to 5* in a day, literally. If you have the time.
000 gets to pay server upkeep and you get free time to do as you like.
Suggest using Cr sinks once you get what you want though, else the CE market could rise with each purchase you make.

Dunno why we don't just use ele passes on the core. Or VT.. But w/e.

Wait.

I won an elepass a while ago and, although I miss it, I do think it was wasted. Sure, I accumulated a bit over a million crowns while reaching Vanguard on two characters, but each day consisted of 3-6 Prestige/Danger missions then either grinding bosses or recipe hunting. In the entire month that I had it, OOO didn't release anything new or have anything special that would make having an elepass oh so much better.
Then the cake event came and I no longer had the elepass when I most desired to grind levels.

So wait until an event comes along before getting it, otherwise, it'll make the game monotonous.

No-Thanks
good thing i decided to post an answer here

as expected EVERY single post here is about profit

i wasted my e pass in terms of profit..but i enjoyed it being able to play for FREE wherever, whenever, and as much as i want

only thinking about maximizing profit will WASTE your e pass in terms of joy. ull have the same grind crap that ur ALREADY used to. better play for the fun of it, having in head, that ur never making any loss already means that ur getting paid for playing, whatever u feel like

ur mist becomes super handy for reviving and tabbing too^^ - i can only recommend it to people, who can still enjoy pve in excess

hope this helps

No-Thanks: Depending on joy: With more profit, you get to buy things/craft better weapons/craft more gear. With the new stuff I think you might get more "joy" in the long term...

Post-wise I agree with pretty much everyone else... eheh.
