I don't think anyone has done it yet: Videos from the perspective of the "generic one bar player".
Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not a good player or anything, and it's not my intention to gain attention(although to make a thread IS shameless publicity!). I just recently took up a hobby of video editing and whatnot, and what better to start out by making videos about Spiral Knights?
HERE IT IS!
It's relatively new, so don't expect much. I do make different kinds of videos...

Some general things:
"Okay we get your point, but really? What's so special that we should watch?"
Okay, so I go to youtube, I search Spiral Knights, what do I find? Yes! The very good ones. And what do I notice? They all have 4/3bars..." /jelly" Of the videos I watched, only Fallout's showed that little red dot. So yes, I'm sick and tired that these people are naturally good at the game, and decided I would (try to at least) make a place for all the 1bar people in the game as well as myself.

"Just switch to the Asian server!"
Again I'll hold my stand on this: I am NOT willing to trade all my gear just for an improved connection. Yes, I complain about it, but I understand OOO won't be doing much regarding this. To that end I don't mind it- Spiral Knights has been one of the best games I played (granted I don't play many games either :P)

"I hardly see the difference..."
At times I'll agree that it's hard to notice any difference between my usual latency of 300ms~ or so ping, but likewise there are times when it's so ridiculously obvious. Check out my latency compilation video, Derps in the Machine.

All that said, time to say some things about myself: I am from South East Asia, so brace for eternal one bar (I know plenty of others are worse off than I am...). That said, I'm lucky to have just 300ms~ or so ping on the US server, I know many others have worse, and my framerate at 60fps, I'll say, is more than I can really ask for.
Something that annoy me: People complaining that clockworks are too easy. My stand on this is simple: Don't charge spam, especially things like brandish. But what really irks me are those few moments, when my shield refuses to work properly because of ping, when some stupid zombie manages to hit me with the leap even though I'm miles away. I won't say it's ALL that easy, but it does get ridiculous at times. But I enjoy using things such as sudaruska and levi/lionheart blade. It's "hipster" gear, but it's fun. Try it some time, people.

I know I make videos about lockdown, currently with it being majority of my content. But I'll try to balance this...

I live in the USA. I've been thinking of putting SK videos on Twitch but even if I went to the EU server I'd still have 2 bars while doing runs. I sold my VH CTR/VH ASI/Con Med Voltedge months ago for 75k CE. I've been thinking of going a new route and buying a ASI Divine Avenger and using that with vortex in FSC which vortex is just plain out overpowered in its own rights.

Of course all this is if I finally decide I want to record/stream SK videos.. of course that means I have to actually log on though. So I dunno yet. Maybe once I get a recording of beating Old One on Dungeon Defenders on Nightmare Hardcore and not just Nightmare I'll come do some SK videos.

@Fehzor: Yeah, I'll say server issues suck :C I had a couple really horrible LD moments when the server died... I know that feel.

Graphics does not affect latency, unless you're on a laptop. Owao already stated that their frames per second is a solid 60.

Oh you have one bar and are complaining of it? Now tell me how others can't deal with it?

I mean, I dealt with it, for how long? about a year or so... you can get used to the lag, it just takes a bit of understanding the enemy pattern. The game is relatively small enough for you to understand the enemy patterns in a short time, and according to your videos, you have been playing quite a lot. I don't see how you can't deal with it.

Keep things peaceful. Owao is trying to provide a unique viewpoint for us to look at, and understand other's perspectives so that we can emphatise with the problems other's have. Maybe after this video, people will actually consider the well known excuse, nonetheless a valid point of contemption, "I died because of lag", and maybe not to be so harsh as to insult others' skill. After all, not everyone is capable of handling lag, I know, because when it lags...

I get screwed.
Which is why you don't see me running RT that often. :3

PS: Yes I also suffer from eternal one bar. On a laptop.

It's not a complaint about lag, it's a post advertising a Youtube channel that shows what it's like to play with one bar (Among other things, although I don't have the heart to watch SK videos extensively).

OP: quite liked Derps in the Machine, but as I said, I don't have the heart, so I didn't watch all of it.

When i'm playiing SK my thumbs rule is just predict the enemeis,its not fun how i always need to predict rather then just play fully.

I can tell you honestly that I am not the best, and I've definitely met players with worse connection but fare better. Again, as I said in my video- It's all for fun, I just want to merely highlight this whole topic, because I have not actually seen someone doing it. And who makes videos just to complain? Now that would be downright silly.

@Gravelord-Caste I can understand that, I sometimes get too bored of watching some things (like minecraft) and end up skipping parts of the video. But mostly I stay off youtube if I do, so when I get back I'll have the drive to watch. :P

@Zorbez I do play on graphics high, because I feel things look cooler and I more or less have a PC that can handle it. Personally I have had experiences when the game would have choppy framerate even on low graphics, and personally I feel that is really painful... But alas, I can only wish people luck.

@Hariender I know it's not fun predicting, so most times I end up playing based on what I see on my graphics and due to latency I die hilariously/horribly. But I don't know, when you are actually watching your recording of a play-through, you tend to forget the annoyance of having latency and instead laugh at your own deaths at times. I personally had fun rewatching how Yotzar and I failed Ghost in the Machine rather hilariously.

@Hariender I'm not exactly sure I get what you are saying :\ But from the way I interpret it you have choppy framerate and as such you can't really see things properly? I have had 1-3 framerate per second before, that is the closest to what I feel best fits "slide show". Regarding your computer specs I'm not sure what you are trying to say, though personally I have 3.10Ghz and 8GB RAM...

Nice stuff. I enjoyed your LD videos. Latency lag sucks, especially in LD (toothpicks get 3-tile range~) but complaining won't get us all anywhere, haha. Can only walk it off and have fun, that's what the game is for. ^ ^ Keep it up.

@Hariender Yeah, SK definitely runs better on a computer with better processor and more RAM. It's a pretty large program, so you'll need some good stuff to run it properly (Although I am no tech expert and can't really help you there :\)

@Leekcoco Thanks for the comments :D Basically I won't say I don't complain, but I do get fed up at times... Still, I try to have fun anyway, after all LD is just a side game of SK :)

I'm in the same boat

I too, have that same kind of lag.It doesn't always happen, but when it does, oh man.You're in for a world of pain.We get used to it, but it is still annoying when that happens. Luckily ,on the weekends, I have access to computers which are way better than my laptop that I use for the weekdays.
