It's weak and useless at the moment, so let's make it even to the Callahan or maybe even Valiance.

What could work:
A - Move stun from Callahan to Iron Slug and increase Callahan's damage and interrupt chances
B - Keep stun on Callahan and add it to Iron Slug too, debuffing Callahan a bit
C - Increase the combo to be 3-5 instead of 2
D - Increase the damage
E - Let the user move while firing
F - Inrease ASI for firing AND bullets

Stun is unique to the Callahan, so A and B might not work best but it's just a theory.
I say the options must be mixed and experimented with for best effect.

I don't want E. The stopping for firing makes the gun feel like it packs a punch, which is more important than it actually packing a punch.

D is nice. The more damage Iron Slug and Callahan gets, the better Iron will be compared to Calla since weak-neutral stays the same but neutral-strong will widen.

Unless they plan to fix internal ricochets, Iron Slug should do at least the damage of two Nova Driver shots per shot.

I don't understand why a gun that supposedly causes "crippling paralysis" cannot inflict stun, but a gun that supposed leaves "its user in a daze" does not stun the knight but stun the ENEMIES instead.

I DID notice they changed the description of the Skolver Coat to reflect its damage boost, rather than asi. They can either do what the description says or at least change it.

That said, ALL NORMAL DAMAGE WEAPONS need a damage boost, even if so slight. Why should a Glacius deal more damage against a Leviathan against Jellies, which both are neutral against?! I'm all for D.

Survey

Did you guys already take the survey? I mentioned this issue for the question asking about the least useful gun. Sad to say I said Iron slug.

B or D.. others is

B or D.. others is unacceptable.
This weapon is awesome as it is, I think it needs only a couple of bugfixes and maybe some slight power ups.
I am saying this as Iron Slug user for about two years. It was my first five stars weapon, and I still prefer it.

Iron Slug? Eh? It deals a nasty interrupt on most enemies like its piercing brother. Hardly "useless". I agree with Ewbte. The Iron Slug is one of the least of our worries in terms of equipment balance.

Noes, I didn't say that. I mean it is awesome in how it works: two shots, unable to run whyle shot, assdrop on charge etc.

But bugs.. so much bugs.

I think Iron slugs should be like sniper rifles: high range, high damage, low rate of fire. In other words, you could only fire it when fully charged or if it had a 1-shot clip.

Sorry to necro.

They are all nice ideas to buff the gun, i have one too:

Since in the wiki it says that has a small radius on impact why not make it like the status shock ?
Let me explain: Once you hit the enemy with the iron slug the other foes around that enemy take damage.

Simple and effective

Oh and btw i heard that nick wants to buf that gun or something.

mmm

nick said that a lot of time ago. it's in the "broken promises" section, along with tortodrone.
anyway, it should be good, since even dodging enemies take damage, give it a small AoE should be a regular buff.

Oh woops!

@Hex
Didn't notice your response. I should have explained that I didn't feel there was really a "useless" gun, but if I had to pick one it would be the Iron Slug. I'm sure it's usable though. Do you prefer it over Callahan?

I like B, D, E.

I'd like B, and E together, or D alone.

Yep necro again

Hello evryone, Atholl here with gues what ? New ideas. (necro this thread to not make a new one)

1)The Iron Slug takes DMG/ASI/CTR from swords bonuses. (making it a good choice for swordmasters)

2) When the Iron Slug hits an enemy it will do aoe to enemies around the first.

3)On hit the Iron Slug interrupts every enemy action for the next 1.5 seconds (movement included)

4)Base attack on Stratum6 = 265 X Shoot with damage penality Maxium! resulting in 154 X Shoot (This way the bonus scaling are higher and being able to have a bonus higher than 6 points since we start from -6)

Note that you can't take two of this ideas togheter.

Yes. Being able to make Gun Puppies (especially rocket puppies) and Polyps go "blop" and not be able to fire at me is useful.
Of course, I could use a Supernova for the same task, but that requires less skill and is far less satisfying.

Well that's why I said it's the least useful, I can't think of a reason why you'd use Iron Slug over the Supernova other than liking it. In general do you disagree with the idea of it needing a buff/small change?

I disagree with player invented buffs...

...because I want to see what Nick had in store for it.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

While I do want to see what Nick has in store for it, it would also be nice if we had a "filler buff" just to tie over the players who own one until they can get the real buff working.

And then have players who aren't aware of Nick's buff who craft the Iron Slug for the filler buff have a whinge and cry when the filler buff is removed and Nick's buff added?
