This post is more aimed at the developers of the game but I would like to see what other people think.

Before I begin, have a little look in your inventory and see how many useless weapons and armors you have.

I know some of you will say that you've only got the starter armor and the Proto weapons, but thanks to the missions a lot of the new players have more useless gear and weapons than they needed.

I've included links for each weapon which you can get to by clicking on the names.

Well, lets start with a list of items.

Helmets
Spiral Crescent Helm
Spiral Pith Helm
Spiral Round Helm
Spiral Sallet
Spiral Tailed Helm

Armors
Spiral Brigandine
Spiral Cuirass
Spiral Culet
Spiral Draped Armor
Spiral Flak Jacket
Vitasuit Plus

Shields
Proto Shield
Iron Buckler
Scale Shield
Scarlet Shield

Weapons
Rugged Robo Wrecker
Proto Sword
Hatchet
Proto Gun
Punch Gun
Stun Gun
Proto Bomb

Helmets
The Spiral Crescent Helm could transmute into the Cobalt Helm with a new level 1 star helmet in between them.

Spiral Pith Helm into Frostbreaker Helm.

Spiral Round Helm into Angelic Helm with new level 1 & 2 star helmets in between them.

Spiral Sallet into Circuit Breaker Helm.

Spiral Tailed Helm into Emberbreak Helm.

Armor
The Spiral Brigandine could be made into Frostbreaker Armor or Cobalt Armor with a added level 1 star armor between it.

Spiral Cuirass into Circuit Breaker Armor.

Spiral Culet into Firebreak Armor.

Spiral Draped Armor into Spiral Scale Mail that could be make into Drake Scale Mail.
(Needs a level 2 star Armor)

Spiral Flak Jacket into the Wolver Coat with new level 1 armor in between.

I think Vitasuit Plus needs to be changed to a level 3 star so It could be transmuted into Vitasuit Deluxe.

Shield
Proto Shield and Iron Buckler could be transmuted into Force Buckler and then Swiftstrike Buckler.
(with new level 2 star Shield)

Scale Shield into Drake Scale Shield.
(with new level 2 star Shield)

Scarlet Shield could be made from the Defender.

Weapons
Rugged Robo Wrecker into Wrench Wand

Proto Sword could be made into Hot Edge, Static Edge and Bolted Blade then upgraded to Calibur or Brandish.

Hatchet into Heavy Hatchet.

Proto Gun into Blaster.
(needs a new level 1 star Gun)

Punch Gun into Pummel Gun and then into Magnus.
(new level 2 star Gun)

Stun Gun into Super Stun Gun, Frost Gun or Zapper.

Proto Bomb into Firecracker, Cold Snap and Static Flash or the Blast Bomb.
(with new level 1 star Bomb)

I didn't add this last one on the list because I wasn't sure if this was a good idea or not but how about the Firecracker into Fiery Vaporizer, Cold Snap into Freezing Vaporizer and Static Flash into Static Capacitor.

As you can see most of what I've suggested could be good idea’s for transmuting these items.

Before anyone says “what if new players don’t know the right gear to choose at the beginning of the game?” well they could have the Merchants in the Bazaar resell the gear like they do with some of the weapons.

And add “coloring of armor” to Vatel the Merchant.

Please leave your suggestions or comments of your thoughts about this.

No.

We used to have a 1* item that went all the way to 5*. What happened was that everyone used their alts to craft 10 haze bombs every day, flooding the haze bomb UV market. For this reason, no item may go from 2* to 5*. The 0* and 1* to 3* stuff is just there to test drive things and figure out what you want in a cheap manner.

I want to keep my proto as it is, and 3* items are relatively cheap once you get into the game.

1* item lines are fine as it is. In fact, I recommend people just skip 1* completely, considering you already get them from missions, just go straight to the alternative 2* gear, such as flourish.

Haze bombs are unique from Firecracker, Cold Snap and Static Flash. Don't forget Static Flash is an exclusive weapon from buying Starter's pack with real money.

You could always sell "useless gear" to the vendors. I'd rather keep this AWESOME UNIQUE VARIANTS ON DEM 1*s TYVM.

I don't see what's the big deal about "useless gear". The Arsenal has a Search bar for a reason, and if you can't take a second or so of lag when opening your tabs, just search for it.

Basically agree with Knight-Of-India here.

@Zeddy: You mean 1* to 5*? Because a bunch of stuff goes from 2* to 5*.

@OP: I think all proto armor should be craftable into Surge Breaker, Blizzbreaker, and Blazebreak sets. Proto Sword should go to Hot and Static Edges, Proto Bomb should go to Firecracker and Cold Snap, and Proto Gun should go to Zapper and Frost gun. Just to give a little choice to starters. But nothing beyond 3*.

I would rather like to be

I would rather like to be able to organise by stars instead of the current Sword, Gun, Bomb, Shield, Top, Bottom categories, but I'm not holding my breath for anything like that. The only gear I have that I'd be unable to dispose of if I thought it were useless is Proto gear, which is a mere 6 items that are always around the bottom of their category lists so I don't even see them often. I do have a lot of stuff I only rarely use that I'd like to dump into a deeper menu somewhere, though!

I suspect the simplest and easiest solution to implement might be to just add splats to each item's display name to represent stars, so the "search" feature can be used to just display everything of a target star level or higher, and add a checkbox in client settings for "persistent search filter." We could then hide seldom-used items out of the way and have everything that's often used fit in less screen space.

No post in this subforum is complete without something totes pie-in-the-sky that would be crazy much work on the developers' part for benefit of a very narrow slice of the playerbase, so I'd rather have arbitrarily definable partial loadouts that just don't change equips which are not specified in the loadout. That way, I could simply bookmark oft-used armor&shield setups that I use with a lot of weapon combos, and bookmark oft-used weapon combos that I use with multiple defense setups, rather than pages of repetitive permutations. I guess I should just bookmark my most oft-used armor&shield combos with the weapons I'd have to scroll farthest outside my most-used weapons in order to equip. ...or maybe just bookmark them with my most oft-used weapons, since I'm absent-minded. :(

Well........

The only problem with me is that most people at the start choose the proto gear that looks the best. Their "best look" could be turned into the worst armor possible. So, there should be a separate recipe to get all the 2 star armor and helms.
