Now that the market price for CE is higher than ever, you want to be on top of things. So I thought for people that cant always be on the game and wait for the market to magically go down, they could 1. add the market on the front page and allow you to trade from there, or 2. they could make a mobile app that would let you see the market at all times on the go so you could get a good deal ( i would assume that you know that you can make CE off of the market). My second suggestion is that they add "stocks" or something of the sort. What I mean is that you could invest your crowns into 5 options. For the stocks to go up it would depend on how much money each person that owns the stock has made in a day, then the stocks would show the average of how much all the people that own it had made in the world combined. Each stock you buy would contribute to this, so say that you invested in 2 stocks, then the money you make in one day would be counted as another person plus you, and so on. This way people could make money besides adventuring because, say you bought the stock for 1000 crowns, and then the average goes up to 2000, you would sell your stock and get 1000 crowns profit. Thats about it plz comment and thanks for reading!
an idea for the market
I see what you mean, but it would not be necessary to put something to take away your money if the stock is doing poorly because when you would invest in it you would pay crowns, and then there is the chance that the stock would not go down to the price they had paid, thus they would loose crowns. Plus it seems to me that you are assuming that most people would buy ce with real money, which I know is not the case for most. This would be an opporituniy for non paying players to get ce in a more time efficient way. Also it would be convienient for all players to know whatthe market price is without trying to get onto the game. P.s. I am a paying player
I was actually referring to only in-game currencies, i hadn't even considered pay for play.
But realistically, i don't know what net effect it would have on the market one way or another. I am just wary of things that involve micro-management being one more thing that could leave the casual player further behind. Whether or not that would be the result, i don't actually know though.
On the other hand, i log in to the game 3 or 4 times a day with no intention of playing, just to check the market price of CE. So i definitely see where you are coming from there :) And depending on the price, i may buy/sell CE. So...yeah, lol.
The problem i see with your stocks ideais that it would have to be either perfectly balanced i.e. someone lost 1 crown for every 1 crown someone else made--in which case it would be a net breakeven for players. Or it would have to be taxed so that it was a net loss for players. Otherwise, if it's just a way for players to make money, it will make the market worse not better.
Also, i think making a mobile app/trading from the home page will do nothing but put upward pressure on the CE market. So again, net result would not be an improvement.
Lastly, lot of ideas sound novel or good on paper, but when implemented and players star min-maxing every aspect of games things like this usually end up with a negative effect on markets on the whole. The people who systematically squeeze these things for all they are worth, will generally be the people who are hoarding the energy and have no need for crowns anyway, thus contributing to our perceived problems not alleviating them.
P.S. I don't believe there is anything wrong with hoarding energy when crowns become unnecessary to your advancement, regardless of any negative consequences it has on the CE market. It is really only the natural progression of what you need to do in the game. It would be illogical to keep your wealth in a semi-useless (not worthless) currency when you can keep it in the currency that you will always need.
