Since the UI update, your character appears in the upper left corner of your screen. Would it be possible to take that image and use it as your avatar in the forums as an option instead of the standard avatars that they list? This would allow for a more customized avatar so that you portray your knight better on the forums, It also gives a connection between the game and the community as well, giving your character a voice outside the game. Any feedback on this idea would be greatly appreciated.
Forum avatar ideas
Yes, this is a common idea suggested multiple times (mandatory rant).
But I still agree with it.

I totes agree.

The Avatars would update with your in-game portrait, correct? I will assume this is correct, if only so I can say my next point. When would the portrait update? Would it be every time your in-game avatar changed? (Of course not! That's idiotically impossible. An even worse type of impossible than stupidly impossible. 3 factors of 1 worse, to be exact.) So when would it update? Every x hours? Every time the server is put to sleep for "maintenance"?
at some point, waffle posted his own suggestion. it's more detailed than this, read that.
+1 I don't see how this would work for Luguiru's avatar though, as he would just turn into a Mecha-Knight with a BAB for a head. Fleet-Miss-Gun however, would turn into a polaris.

Well Obviously it wouldn't update instantly that would be silly, what i'm talking about is something very similar to what Bungie did with their halo website. The avatar would update every once and awhile when the server would do an update check every 24 or so hours. However the time interval doesn't have to be that long.
I would love it if I could instead of using some picture that everyone and there pet scuttle bot named Sneakser can use we could take a position screen shot of our knight. Easiest way to do this would be to set up a screen cap system were the player when they have the P button tab open to have a button were the player can take a profile picture screen shot to their forum account. "But waht if people use this as a way to troll other people on the forum by sending this change to other peoples' accounts when they have nub gear armor?" well then it would simply have a "Would you like to make this your forum profile picture?" question box come up with the picture of the knight. In the box there will be a "No", "yes", and a "Ignore all profile picture updates from this account" button. The latter one to avoid people troll spamming these. If a player picks "No" to the same spiral knight account sending these requests then a "Would you like to ignore all profile updates from this Spiral Knights account?" question box would come up in case a forum user doesn't notice the first option.
All the current profile pictures should revise a red lining around the image if it is of a knight this way new players are easier to spot on the forum when they are using a premade profile picture of a chapue rose so they can't be mistaken for a long time player by using it.
Seerusly guies, why do we all ignore the detailed threads and post on the ones with not enough words to fill a Were Is Waldo Book?
Because the average person doesn't want to read a wall of text explaining an issue. As a Graduate student who's taken a few psychology classes, its simply because a large number of words in a post usually scares away most readers. Its easier to explain in a short simple paragraph to get the point across.
Well I am not arguing walls of text can scare people away but the point of this thread section is not to make people feel at home, it is for suggestions. It is always better for suggestions to have details it is more clear what the suggestion is and how it should be implemented.
+1 if possible, even though mine wouldn't change.
