Hi there, my name is legend , you may have read some of my other threads
so im told, that becoming a5* knight is the most important stage of a SK charecter
so i studies a bit, lookedaround and took some advice
i've got my loadout sorted out except my gun
i was thinking that i havea silverisx,
my question is "shout i take a gigawatt pulsar instead of my silversix"
ihave seen many LD playerswho use that line and my silversix is being owned by thier pulsars, i just was wondering
Thank You

...I'd get Storm Driver, but then that's just me.
Also, you shouldn't shout in LD because if you're playing recon then everyone can see where you are which is bad. I did this before, and it meant I couldn't backstab anyone for the next 30 seconds. Trust me, it sucks.

Polaris bullets are pigslow and irritating as hell for many reasons. But they do a good job of area denial in LD games, LD players cannot be immune to its Moderate Shock status, and they can shut down turrets easily. If you're going to get it, though, please use it carefully, because if I find you in one of my parties spamming screenflash while people are trying to melee, or knocking lumbers around into people's faces, then there will be blood. It is a utility gun rather than one for pure damage. Not to mention lots of people in LD shouting 'polaris spam n00b' and other such pithy insults.

I am not a great fan of Argent Peacemaker. It has the largest clip of any gun that will let you fire each bullet separately, but each bullet does fairly low damage by itself so you need to hit your target an awful lot of times before it dies. This is a problem in PvP since knights don't generally stay still politely whilst you shoot them to death, and it's a problem in PvE if you're using it to try and kill a Rocket Puppy before you get rockets in your face. Its charge takes some skill to use, and works best with Vortex bombs, but an awful lot of people don't bother much with Vortex bombs in general play since direct damage generally takes priority over teamwork. It does decent damage overall, but only if you keep up a steady rate of fire and keep hitting your target consistently. Do you feel lucky? (Punk.)

Storm Driver has Moderate Shock, which also stops Skolver multimax UV clones in their tracks. It also does more damage per bullet, has faster (if nonexpanding) bullets than the Polaris, no obnoxious screenflash, and has a chance for the ricochets to damage the target another time. The charge can kill a turret in a single hit, with some care, although it takes skill and practice. It lacks the knockback of Polaris' expanded bullets, which I suppose can be a blessing in PvE and a curse in PvP. I find myself using it more often than either my Polaris or my Argent Peacemaker, but then I favour the kind of playstyle that uses it.

PvP or PvE? search?

Are you asking about PvP, or PvE, or both?

In PvE, elemental guns tend to be disproportionately useful, because they're good against turrets. You might search Google for "spiral knights forum elemental gun" or some such. The short version is:
* Argent: Easy to use, decent damage, terrible charge.
* Polaris: Easy to use, decent damage, high knockback; really a crowd-control weapon.
* Nova: Harder to use, but higher damage in the hands of an expert.
* Storm, Magma, Hail: Like Nova, but trade a little damage for status.
My PvE recommendation is Nova or Storm.

@Hadi: In that case, just go for the Polaris. As long as you use it carefully and in the right situations, it shouldn't be a problem, and many of the less friendly features are null and void if you're playing on your own. (It's just I have had considerably more experience with careless Pulsar users than I have had with careful ones...)

PvP-wise, a Driver is better

PvP-wise, a Driver is better than both in my opinion. The Antigua-line guns simply don't do enough damage and invincibility frames mean you can hardly get more than one shot in. Not to mention it isn't very team-friendly to be triggering frames with your measily damage when a team mate could've taken them out with a much stronger weapon. Polaris is just annoying and bad at killing anyone who isn't near death with because of how slow it is.

Antigua lines > all others

Antigua lines > all others for LD, valiance 2nd, alchemers 3rd, pulsar 4th, needle/magnus 5th

But that's just me :)

I used to value alchemers as #1 and polaris #2, but things change as tactics do.

Gigawatt Pulsar

I suggest you take the Pulsar. If you're a good gunslinger (Gunslinger Sets or Chaos Sets) use Blitz Needle and the Pulsar. This combination can kill every monster,so it's like having a treat for all shadow and elemental monsters.

Antigua...Never tried it...but I have seen players with it. Seems bad to me. Atleast if you compare it with Pulsar. Pulsar can deal more damage from far away. All the other ones can't even reach there. Pulsar's one of the best. ;)

This is atleast what I think.
Happy Bullets? LOL.

@Gazakiz

The pulsar lines are insanely messy, and the charge attack isn't really worth using outside of sword range.
Wearing Chaos your should pack an Alchemer instead to make better use of the CTR bonus.
