obvious but unobrusive "typing" indicator over knight's head

Just a small, minimally obtrusive* thing like the "interactable" indicator is the sort of thing I was expecting the new UI to be adding, by which I mean that I'm actually surprised that it's still not been implemented. It can be rather inconvenient for every one involved when one player stops to say something while another summons a hazard with expectation of immediate action on the part of another player who just happens to be stopping to say something. I can think of several workarounds off the top of my head, none of which work reliably for PUGs or even just every plausible partying situation other than PUGs. Speaking of workarounds, Imma bind "/wait" to my flooding gamepad when I next log in, provided I can remember to. :(

*speaking of which, +1 to the suggestion (which I'm assuming has been made several times already by others) for having weapon wheel be at least togglable off! I miss the old weapon icon being always present and unobtrusive, so I can simply disengage "HUD Lock" and click on to instantly bring up its infobox when I'm familiarising with a new weapon, but the easy availability is not a big deal really. Having a new display that punishes me for liking to mix it up in monsters' faces with some dancing and weapon-switching is a problem, though. I know that Alchemer-switching is a thing that people do, (and that I'm considering investing in being able to do for myself eventually) and my prized Alchemer is already one of my favourite melee weapons for mixing with other weapons.

+1 to both suggestions even though they've both been suggested before. I would link them but I'm feeling way too lazy today.
