Title says it all, I really want to get it.
Also, is the Winmillion any good? Sounds amazing.
Khorovod, is it any good?
Ah, Well good to know it's not completely hated. Makes me want it more!
I love my Khorovod. It feels completely different from most other swords and it lends itself to a defensive playstyle. It has a longer range than the Sealed Sword family, and range is really important for a slow sword. The charge attack on the Troika and Kamarin isn't great, but the Khorovod's is AWESOME.
Feynt: "It's cousins the Divine Avenger and Gran Faust are actually better though"
Those are 5* swords. You need to compare the Khorovod to a Sealed Sword, which is no contest. Gran Faust is not comparable in playstyle regardless.
A 5* form of the khorovod is most likely to be implemented in SK (As of what I've heard).
I just built my Troika after my last post...
I LOVE IT. OH HOW I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.
I can't wait until it's Khorovod!
Both weapons will actually catch you a bit of flak from some people because they aren't "the best weapons". The sealed sword variants for instance swing exactly the same as the khorovod (no stun though), and do more damage to boot, not to mention bonuses versus weakness (shadow versus gremlins for instance). The winmillion, since it doesn't do anything but move you around a lot and deal normal damage, is considered inferior to other weapons like the cutter line (dread venom striker poisons) which will also give you combat mobility or the calibur line which has a much better charge attack and higher per hit damage. The calibur also has more controlled movement which conservative players enjoy more ("The spur line sends me into spikes all the time when I use it, it sucks!" basically).
Man, man, man, you've never used it. Using the Troika once, in an arena, against all foes I do about 55 for the first hit, 70 for second, and 105 for charged. It does not even COMPARE to my Hunting Blade. Not even a little.
i love my khorovod. it's got reach, knock-back, it packs a hell of a wallop, the charge attack is fun, and the slower attack speed makes me think about where i'm hitting, instead of flailing about wildly and getting my ass kicked.
plus, it's bigger than i am, and you gotta respect that. lol...
khorovod: because sometimes, size does matter.
and yeah, when the 5* recipe comes out for the line...oh man. i will probably squee.
yeah i've been looking for a CTR khorovod because i love the different play style and awesome charge attack + knockback and range are insane
underrated sword, i'd use it over DA and GF
Well, if the Troika is any indication (or the hatchets back in newbie-tier) then the Khorovod should be a great weapon, just because of how they work.
Never underestimate the reach and swing width and knockback. Sure, some weapons will do twice as much damage, but the troika line can easily hit four times as many targets per swing, making them greatly superior in fighting very large groups of enemies. The knockback, if used right, will ensure that no enemy can ever hit you with a melee attack..
Oh, and the charged attack swing can hit things you'd normally need a gun to hit. You know that one dungeon floor with the part where you step on the button and some kats spawn to the left and right, at either side of a large gap, and you're supposed to shoot them or throw fire pots at them? ... Yeah, you can just smack them in the face with a Troika.
Now, as for the Khorovod specifically, it ALSO does something that the earlier weapons in its line didn't. The charge attack gains the added effect of a bunch of rock spikes coming out of the ground, randomly around you. It's like being a Lichen Colony! :D I'm dying to build my medium-slime-damage-UV troika up to Khorovod level one of these days.
I would surprised if the next arsenal expansion doesn't add a 5 star upgrade for it. So if you have 1 (or 2 or more) it might put you in real good position to make a killing selling the 5 star version if one becomes available.
It does need a 5*. The Khorovod is totally awesome all the way through Tier 2. It even out paces a DA against neutral enemies every so slightly in Tier 2. The only thing is that in Tier 3 it really helps to be able to do weakness-specific damage with a DA or GF. By depth 28 the DA is doing 328, 445, 685 for hit1/2 charge against constructs and undead, which are weak to elemental. The Khorovod is at 225, 283, 419. That is a 45-64% increase.
So use it all through Tier 2 and even into Tier 3, but it helps to start specializing that deep, at least until a 5* comes out.
I've seen 1 or 2 people using the Khorovod and absolutely loved the look of it. If there was a 5 star it would definitely be one of my swords!!! It is just awesome looking IMO. I love it's reach and knock back. What kind of upgrades do you think would be legit for it?
I thought it would be neat if it didn't per se get stronger, but instead you could craft it to a khorovod elemental/shadow/pierce/or keep it normal but add shock/freeze/fire/or stun. Idk, i think it would be neat to do something unique with it. I don't know if that is balanced or not, because i've never personally used it, but sounds fun :)
Divine Avenger is the closest 5* sword in playstyle.
Unfortunately.
A while back I made a little video of the Troika line, including the Khorovod's charge attack at the end.
I love my Khorovod, but it's not a rush and attack sword. It is a sweeping sword with incredible damage, range, and knockback, and I have used it to kill hordes of retrodes (the bipedal laser bots). These days I'm playing with using special damage 3-combo swords (the Brandish line, in other words), and let me tell you, I miss all three attributes, even if I move much faster. But different playing styles are needed for different weapons, and quite a few people don't like the slowness of Khorovod.
Khorovod is actually a lot like a short but still ranged weapon. I have reach comparable to the reach of zombies and retrodes, and the fun part of Khorovod (or Flourish, too, actually) is that you can sometimes use them to solve switch-across-the-wall puzzles.
I've always wondered, does the Khorovod have more or equal range and AoE compared to the DA/GF?
Also, note that it's easier to get a nice UV on a troika than on an avenger/faust.
I love being able to open a ton of Treasure Boxes with one swing. "Hey no worries guys let me get that for you." WHOOSH! got five boxes in a single swing.
hahahahaahahahahhahahaha YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That' so funny man, because it's useless...but true. When i got an autogun my favorite part of it was that is could take out minerals so quick!!!!
The khorovod as far as I'm aware is equal to the sealed sword lines as far as range per normal swings despite the sealed swords actually appearing to be smaller. While the troika line charge attacks do indeed have a longer physical reach and knock back, especially in light of both the avenger and faust shoving you back a bit when you swing, the net effect of the avenger/faust is a much longer range and higher knock back.
Does the Khorovod become any faster with the equipping of the swift sheild? (don't know what its actually called.)
With Swiftstrike Buckler, Khorovod speeds up to 3-strike combo sword speeds. It's very satisfying to wander into a T2 Deconstruction Zone with the combination. I wish I could make it work in T3, but that would require some really fancy and maybe even impossible legwork.
So, what would be the best way to maximize the attack speed and charge time reduction?
I love my Khorovod UV slime Med! Once you get used to using the knockback you really get a sense of its potential. One time me and a guy with an avenger caught a scuttlebot between us on a spike square and knocked it back and forth like a tennis ball! :)
I got one with attack speed high. Fastest slow sword I have now <3
Yes, the Khorovod is pretty boss. It's cousins the Divine Avenger and Gran Faust are actually better though, doing the same base normal damage and additional elemental or shadow (respectively) damage. Why this is so I'll never know, I would have thought they'd link the two similar swords together with a build path, but... whatever.
Winmillion is good. It's not amazing. It's likely the shortest ranged attack evar actually if that's what you want it for. It would be better to consider it a Cutter style weapon in that it hits twice per swing. It can do considerable damage if both hits land, and its mobility is an asset if you can handle it, but there are lots of other weapons which have something else going for them that make it a "less than optimal" choice.
