What would it be like if a party went to RJP, all wielding Biohazards, 3 players spamming charges everywhere and the other one spamming the activating bullets?

The Shard Squad has tried

The Shard Squad has tried this. I was not able to go along, but from what I heard from them, their biohazard and neutralizer charges destroyed everything. Much fun to be had, I'd say. It would probably be similar to the hipster blast bomb(heavy decon, irontech, and BAB) RJP run we did last week except much more violent and laggy, I'd imagine. But if you ever have the chance to do such a run, go for it!

Not very effective.

You get way more out of your biohazard if you just detonate things at the right time.

If a slime has 300 health remaining, and I'm just making numbers up and do not mean to offend Zeddy, and your charge deals 450 damage to it, then you'll be losing 150 damage of the potential 450 damage to kill that slime. If you have 3 charges on that slime, which is what you're suggesting, you might be able to kill maybe 2 extra slimes nearby with it, which is even more lost damage. If you can minimize the lost damage, you'll be doing well. Catalyzers are harder to use than you think.

First, a tip on thread

First, a tip on thread titles: try to choose something that gives some kind of idea as to what the thread is about, like "four Catalysers in RJP" or "I love cheese, but cheese doesn't love me." There are a lot of users who don't bother opening threads with titles like "quick question" or "help plz" because it says that every one visiting the subforum should open the topic just to find out which thing, in the unfathomably vast world of things, the question is about because all that time is worth less than the time it would take the author to think of a descriptive title. Many peops visiting the forum happen to not be 5-star Catalyser users, and many don't know how to help strangers get over unrequited love issues.

I hope Fez means harder to use _optimally,_ because in my experience the Catalyser is no harder to use _effectively_ than an Alchemer or Autogun. Yes, you get way more out of any Cat if you learn how many globs to put where, and when to detonate them, but it's still very effective even with little mastery- and I should know about little mastery, because I'm often brainlessly trying to keep the thing in attack animation constantly. (No shield-cancel, no combo cooldown, just spam: pew-pew-charge, realease-pew-pew-charge, rinse and repeat until targets start getting too thin.)

As for numbers, and I'm talking about baseline stats every one can get from the Biohazard- no expensive trinkets or UVs or such: 5 normal hits will slightly overkill a Jelly Cube, and two charge globs (plus the detonating shot) is a lot of overkill but the splash of two-globbing seems to kill nearby cubes efficiently. Lumbers take enough globs that it can vary based on Poison infliction, though, so I prefer to wipe up the Jellies first, then use a sword to chop down any Lumbers that survive the carnage. I've seen fresh Lumbers die from a four-glob boom, but also seen some survive five-globbers, and not yet seen one survive a 6-glob that I can recall, at least from the fully-heated 5-star Biohazard. Uh, now that we have monster health bars, I should revisit RJP with Biohazard...

Back on-topic, it would be unlikely; you don't need a designated popper and 3 globbers, and that's probably not the optimal use anyway. It's pretty fun to have every Cat-user throwing gobs around until there's a hilariously inefficient mess of green and purple sprites first, then pop them all and watch the monsters fly. It's probably not the fastest way to clear a room, but peops don't arrange weird things like this for speed. We do it for fun.

The catalyzer goes boom!

Every time I go do JK(or the Royal Jelly Palace), I always bring my toxic catalyzer. It is a fun gun to use, I won't lie about that.Especially when the jellies are in a group and you just knock a good chunk of their health with the charged shots. Look at all that jelly! What Geosmin has said is true. A lumber takes 4 cata charges to destroy them(in jk that is.Haven't tested out on tier 3 lumbers). That is on the first floor. On the second floor, lumbars take 4 charged shots, and one or two regular shots to defeat. For the jellies it takes 2 charges, but is over kill, since it takes one charge and two regular shots to kill them. As for the boss, he/she/it/whatever has three separate health bars.Once you finish one, the next one comes in.With this in mind, a lot of charged shots would be worthless.I think 6 charged shots will finish of jk's first set of health, although I am not that sure.I would need to run jk again. Btw ,these numbers are when you are alone, not with a group.I know that I pretty much just reworded what Geosmin said in the earlier post, but I though it would be helpful if you got a second opinion on the matter.
