Dual Polarises in LD.
Why dual wielding will not work.
If you could aim and fire both guns in different directions then yes, that would be absolutely broken. (But great fun.) If not, however, the only thing that would change is that you would have a more consistent stream of bullets, rather than firing them in bursts of two with a pause, making 'walling' easier.
In a few months we will see that OOO will take Fehzor's sarcastic comment and put it into motion... sigh. But THIS time we will know who will have caused the insane move of OOO's future dual-wield update.
But I wanna use a hammer and Polaris at the same time... T.T
But really, dual wielding would be fine if you couldn't dual wield existing weapons. Maybe there would be an alternate version of types of weapons, that were different enough (aka less good) to be dual wielded. That said... How does one deal with a sword/gun hybrid who never has to weapon switch? And for gunners... quad alchemer switching :O
Dual-wielding Cutters would be the best thing ever. Everrrr.
Another thing denied for bombers/that bombers can't do :(
Says who? Bombers could totally charge up two bombs at a time.
Well.. I guess what I was thinking was that it requires 2 hands to charge a bomb while swords/guns only need 1..
Actually, have you tried playing without defending?

We tried dash-cancelling instead of shielding and it was terrible. If the only defense you have is the dash, then you're in for a terrible, terrible surprise. You're going to die ALOT.
What would need happen is that charge attacks would not be usable. Dual wielding only allows players to use to of the same weapon to increase attack duration. This means instead of 1-2 or 1-2-3 you get 1-2-3-4 and 1-2-3-4-5-6 combos. In the case of players blocking in this mode they would not be able to. Instead they would only be able to use a push ability similar to shield tapping to push foes away.
While you all are busy dual weilding polaris, Im gona grow 2 arms and quad weild Sentenza!
Actually, why stop there. think of the power behind 40 more arms. so good
We can all strive to be more like this guy

If you think about it, just clicking right mouse/z would make you attack both weaps??? Wouln't that be impossible with sword and gun,and sword and sword? Nearly all swords have a different attack amination, put striker and FF to example; there attack are SO different. One coming forward at high speed and other one trying to pierce forward. Is that even possible?
Just think about it...It could work if X would be attacking, but still?
Can't Shield Bash if you don't have a shield equipped.
I see Japanese in that picture "wwww sugoi desune" I know that w means lol in Japanese internet world.
And the person who took the picture was the person who said the word, whose name is Kodokushi - Dying Alone.
So, are you Japanese? I'm asking because I am Japanese and looking for Japanese friends as my Japanese friends have all quit Spiral Knights recently.
Sorry for posting a comment that is not about dual-wielding.
@Eclaium
I am not Kodokushi, Kodokushi is a close friend of mine in Spiral Knights. I can introduce you to him if you like, go ahead and send him a message I'm sure he won't mind!
I played a game a couple months back that had only one class that could dual weird. Anyway, if you only used left click is was a basic left hand swing. Right click was a basic right hand swing. But if you held both down the character used both weapons in a different set of animations.
In short. He swung the left sword first. Then 2nd attack was swinging the right sword. Third attack in the combo was swinging them both back in a X formation slash.
You guys can go and wield 100,000,000 Polarises for all I care :P I'm gonna go and get an EMP Blaster :P
I see Japanese in that picture "wwww sugoi desune" I know that w means lol in Japanese internet world.
And sugoi desune, or sugoi ne means "Isn't this Awesome?"
So, are you Japanese?
It's basic Japanese and there are a lot of people who watch anime, are Otaku, or are just generally interested in going to Japan speak Japanese for lols.
I asked because "wwww" aka kusa (grass) isn't something you can learn from anime or manga. You also can't learn from websites that encourage you to learn Japanese since it's an internet slang. So you have to go on to the internet and follow Japanese Twitter (and the account needs to be informal which means you have to have a certain Japanese level to figure out what accounts are informal) or something. Which means you know how to search Japanese Twitter (you know how to type Japanese on your computer) and figure out what wwww means - you could simply google "wwww Japanese slang" or you could figure out from the context which requires somewhat intermediate Japanese level.
And also his/her name, Kodokushi, isn't a word that is easy and someone started learning Japanese recently knows. Firstly it is a Japanese-origin word; if you search Kodokushi on Wikipedia in Japanese and hit the English button, the title does not change stays Kodokushi. Tsunami, manga, those are from Japanese too but I think Kodokushi is still very uncommon in English. Secondly, although Kodokushi is being a big social problem in Japan, Japanese children (almost as the same level as foreigners who just started learning Japanese) may not know the word - well they can guess from its kanji, 孤独死, 孤独 is alone and 死 is death. But I don't think the word would come out of their head when they are writing an essay or something.
Well, actually I'm starting to think that Kodokushi isn't a Japanese. Since all my Japanese friends do not have Japanese name - Lunarway, Skaukatter, Amosso, Supadupazekrom, Paveupaveu and myself, Eclaium.
I asked so many people with Japanese name whether or not they are Japanese but none of them were. For example members from my guild EoS, Hamachikama (Hamachi is a fish name) and Shuichi (common Japanese boy's name but is a girl lol)
Still I'll give a shot to Kodokushi when I'm on SK, he may be fluent in Japanese :p

@Neodasus
Thanks for the offer, will send him a mail on SK when I'm on SK.
Checked out the Wikipedia entry and it sounds like someone could've picked that up from the internet, maybe on some news site. Just like its related word hikikomori (the people who stay shut in for long periods of time). Same with wwww.. you see a lot of that in different languages online (Koreans say kekeke, Spanish-speakers jajaja, etc).
If they add it, there should be a new class option for Lockdown, and maybe the armor or helmet would allow you to dual wield, it sounds awesome, but i would rather keep my sheild. oh, and how would you fire, swing, or charge them? There would have to be another Control change for it
You clearly mean the opposite. It would work, the problem is that it would work all too well.
