Now, I'm gonna assume that this game universe follows the same laws of physics and chemistry and whatnot as ours, although huge sentient cube shaped desserts are probably not gonna happen.
This theory is NOT about cradle, or the gremlins, or anything else.
It's about the creation of the knights.
Here's what I think, The knights are a product of Synthetic Biology, basically making living, breathing, bodies and brains out of non-living stuff. Kinda like Frankenstein's monster ( and no, Frankenstein was not the monster, he was the mad, and not so controversial 'cause it wouldn't actually have worked because of a cell's ATP, scientist).
Note, SynBio is not bodies being run by computers or cyborgs or that long and bumpy train wreak, it's computers making bodies that can think for themselves and possibly replicate and adapt. At the moment we can create cells that can do this called XNA, so it is possible.
This could also explain the practically unlimited number of knights available and the fact that they were cruising through space in a big ship, because let's face it, why send real humans to explore when you can send enhanced, regenerating, "Almost humans" to take the risk?
This is the single most valid theory of the knights origin I've to come up with, not to mention the only one.
So what do you think? Is this possible? Is it PROBABLE in the real world that something like this will happen (I would say yes.)? Is it the truth behind the knights! Tell me now, I'm impatient.
No, because a species with that kind of technology won't be using swords and bombs/guns that has lower damage than swords.
