Now, I'm gonna assume that this game universe follows the same laws of physics and chemistry and whatnot as ours, although huge sentient cube shaped desserts are probably not gonna happen.

This theory is NOT about cradle, or the gremlins, or anything else.

It's about the creation of the knights.

Here's what I think, The knights are a product of Synthetic Biology, basically making living, breathing, bodies and brains out of non-living stuff. Kinda like Frankenstein's monster ( and no, Frankenstein was not the monster, he was the mad, and not so controversial 'cause it wouldn't actually have worked because of a cell's ATP, scientist).

Note, SynBio is not bodies being run by computers or cyborgs or that long and bumpy train wreak, it's computers making bodies that can think for themselves and possibly replicate and adapt. At the moment we can create cells that can do this called XNA, so it is possible.

This could also explain the practically unlimited number of knights available and the fact that they were cruising through space in a big ship, because let's face it, why send real humans to explore when you can send enhanced, regenerating, "Almost humans" to take the risk?

This is the single most valid theory of the knights origin I've to come up with, not to mention the only one.

So what do you think? Is this possible? Is it PROBABLE in the real world that something like this will happen (I would say yes.)? Is it the truth behind the knights! Tell me now, I'm impatient.

No, because a species with that kind of technology won't be using swords and bombs/guns that has lower damage than swords.

Rebuttal!

Yes they would, in warfare today we use guns, these guns the knights use have UNLIMITED AMMO, no negative effects and it also means that we don't get hurt as much as when someone uses a sword.

Besides, in reality, no matter how many ultra-powered sword cores the sword has, a real bomb or gun will overpower it. The problem with bombs in SK is that they don't produce shrapnel, which does about 70 per cent of the damage.

Knights are born with will of sacred god called Nick Popovich and by help of his servings from mysterious group, what call themselves "Three rings".
Knights were created to make Nick's and his inscrutable servants live better, by putting mythical source of life, called dollar$ to their deep pockets.
In free time Knights goes to dungeons for fun, but frequenty dies and their only hope is praying for Nick's good will, what allow them back to serve.

True story. n.n

Star wars - the jedi
Starcraft - all of protoss infantry
Everyone from final fantasy 7 except Barret

It doesn't make sense to bring a knife to a gun fight in real life, but welcome to fiction.

@Matax, one of the scientists that created the knights might have been named Nick Popovich, and he amount others might have worked for a group, in this case we'll call it three rings.
It is probably true that they were originally created to make someone's or a few people's lives better, but this is no longer so because they CRASHED on an alien planet and cannot contact their creators anymore, they dive into the clockworks in hope that they can get information. There that can get them home, to their masters.

Motivation

Does it strike you as strange that the knights seem to have brought an infinite number of weapons and armor to cradle? I really don't think they had solely exploratory motivations. Even if they brought them along for protection, why bring soooooo many? They are called the KNIGHTS, and historically, a knight is a warrior. What were they flying around in the Skylark for?

If they were synthetic

If they were synthetic Biology, then who/what built them? O.o

Lemme share something more accurate

Even though this isn't much, Ever heard of bio-luminescence? If you watch deep-sea nature documentaries, you can see that they light up. This cloud explain their glow-eyes.

there glow eyes, if you zoom in on Spiral Spy, they look L.E.D. lights. theres small light dots arranged like LED lights. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRkwgyWTLsqFIUwrUs7...
Also if you go recon in LD, you find a better example.

and robots, and that thing from Star Wars, are the only things that teleport.

They didn't bring them

To answer a statement that Martial posted.

No, they didn't bring all these weapons with them. Only the Cobalt stuff and the punch guns (1* stuff) were brought with them. Everything else was created on cradle in hopes of better survival. The alchemisers are basically "replicators" (Think Star Trek) that create weapons and equipment out of materials that are found down in the clockworks.

So after the knights being here for quite a while its very practical that they come up with new weapons and gear to protect themselves as they adapt to the planet they currently inhabit.

Glitched just explained why new weapons are more OP than old weapons, and why gear never gets nerfed.

Yeah, forgot about the eyes, probably cyborgs now that I think about it...

No, I know what you're thinking, but cyborgs aren't evil, just a combo of organical and mechanical.

Knights are evil! o.O

Spiral knights kill birds/angels, cut their wings and use them as...accessory...(see-->Valkyrie wings). I know it's weird. Other examples are all Wolver caps/coats and all Croma suits/masks.
