Omega shell needs a hug....
Future shield bash more effective for Plate + Omega Shell shields than other shields.

eyes trying to see the end to another end
not asking about the ironmight plate, because this one have extra normal, piercing and stun defense
is just underused, because you can get more cheaper one (Aegis) or more overpowered one (Barbarous Thorn Shield)

but asking about the Omega
the only quality of that shield is his extra health
all shields have, at least on 5 star variant, 2 resistances and some extra things (status resistance, extra base resistance or knight buff), Omega only give extra health, one resistance (normal) and nothing else
extra health, without any damage resistance, only help on first strike
and... well.. ancient/volcanic plate doesn't fall on same condition? only extra normal resistance and stun? (plus fire to the volcanic)

one doubt:
the shield regeneration is percentage based or some "constant" amount? if is the second, the extra health on Omega create other problem

You don't seem to understand
You don't seem to understand the concept of the Omega Shell. You can take it into most dungeons, and against the majority of monsters, it will do better than most shields. And even against the monsters that another shield would excel at, it still keeps up.
For example, you take it to Firestorm Citadel (which is a place it should be disadvantaged at even, since it's a ranged shield and the majority of attacks here are melee). Even when compared to a shield like Grey Owlite, it still takes less damage to zombie swipes and leaps and all Trojan attacks.
And when operating alongside Grey Owlite in an elemental level (excluding fire and shock statuses) it still performs 70 or 80% as well as Grey Owlite.
Then you take it to a shadow or piercing level, and it mops the floor with Grey Owlite.
Due to the huge health boost the Omega Shell has, any Unique Variant on the shield makes it very quickly overpowered.
The other shield that many people have concerns with, the Ancient Plate Shield, is ridiculously unrivaled when it comes to taking any melee hit, provided it's not up against another shield which was designed for that purpose (such as Heater Shield for Freeze-themed Melee Construct and Gremlin attacks, or the Aegis/Ironmight for Melee non-status Slimes and Beasts) and it just laughs off certain "painful" attacks like Trojans, Lumbers, Wheel launchers, Slag Guards and Dreadnoughts.

To add to what Hexzyle has said...
The Volcanic Plate Shield is ridiculously powerful against what it's supposed to be useful against. It can tank Vanacluck's mace slams like they're wolver babies that want to cuddle and it takes Rocket Puppy rockets like knockers who want to sell candy for their school trip.
Just because only a few people use them does not mean they're underpowered and needing of a buff.
