"Damnit." I muttered to myself. Time was up, dawn was fast approaching, the Master apparently had teleported out, I'd have to find this "Nathaniel" and infect him, I didn't see why the Master wanted to recruit him, he had seemed rash, confirmed even more by his willingness to take on the Master. But it was no matter. I still had around 50 remaining swarm troops, divided into the nooks of Haven. I gave the mental orders, the hunt for the commander of the rose was on.
After Cradle (roleplay story thread)(Pact of the Monocled Chromalisk)
Winter no longer recognized Haven. The place was now a smoking, smoldering ruin of its former self, a if it were hit by a zillion explosions. Not far away stood a couple of very big people standing over a cute young hunk who seemed unconscious. She gently set down the knight she was escorting and rushed over. "Hey, guys! Can't you see he's wounded? He needs medical attention, now!" She pushed Feron and Tenebris aside and knelt beside the young man. He appeared to be suffering from a concussion and numerous burn wounds. She worked quickly and tenderly to heal his wounds, and within the space of a few minutes, he already looked much better. He still didn't wake up, though. She then stood up and saluted Feron. "He's all yours, Lieutenant." Feron saluted back, and as she left to go pick up her other patient, he asked her, "What squadron are you in, soldier?" She turned around and put her hands on her hips. "Spiral Medical Squadron, sir. I'm the sole member of my squad, sir."
The Spiral Medical Squadron didn't consist of ordinary medics. They were an elite group of highly skilled medical professionals, trained to rescue stranded knights in the most dangerous depths of the Clockworks. Since they were always away on duty, it was rare to see one on the surface, so Feron decided to ask her to stay while she was still here. "Ma'am, I humbly request that you stay with us for a while. We're in the middle of a battle zone with numerous wounded, and we'd greatly appreciate your assistance." Winter looked around for a moment, then conceded. "As you wish, Lieutenant." She gave her patient a bottle of water and some rations before darting off to tend to the wounded.
Haven was a warzone. The smell of decay was fresh in the air. I took another big whiff, what a great day. It had been only about two hours since the attack had stopped. The search to find the commander was long and tedious, Haven was huge, and the fact we had to stay out of sight was worse. From an alleyway i spotted an unusual sight. A necron, a medic, and...Feron? The Lieutenant of the Order was vulnerable, but he wasn't the thing that caught my eye. On the floor was a passed out knight. Nathaniel. I immediately called all forces into the area. I emerged from my hiding spot in the alley. With a brisk pace I walked straight into view. "What a lovely day isn't it?" I said casually to the knights assembled. "It'd be a shame if something went wrong." With a single snap around 20 swarm monsters spawned. "Hand over the commander of the rose, and I'll promise that this day won't get any worse." I said, barely containing my excitement to rip these idiots apart. It was daylight, but I was content that the swarm forces would be able to handle three knights.
The Wolver-Female yelled at me, "I'm not one of them! I still have a mind of my own!" She attempted to wriggle out of grasp, and failed to do so. Just then, few explosions rocked the Bazaar, and I lost my grip on her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A nitrome rolled into the room, where me and my squad was searching for information about Impostoclause. Dex was the first to see. He dived on top of it, cradling the bomb. The nitrome exploded, killing Dex instantly. "No!" I yelled, and ran to him, but it was too late... He was gone. Another nitrome rolled into the room, and I ran...... The bomb exploded..... Everything went black....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I shook my head, clearing my head from the flashback. I saw the Wolver-Female running, so I charged at her, chasing her. But right then, my legs gave out. My legs crumpled from under me, and I fell. "Help....." I croaked at the Wolver, but she wouldn't have any reason to help me, right? Right?
Just as I was finished talking with Feron, yet another knight burst onto the scene.
"Hey, guys! Can't you see he's wounded? He needs medical attention, now!"
She pushed Feron and I away, and knelt next to the unconscious knight.
Here's a feisty one.
The knight unveiled a slew of medical supplies and went to work. When finished, she stood up and saluted Feron. "He's all yours, Lieutenant." Feron saluted back, but stopped her as she turned to leave. "What squadron are you in, soldier?" She turned back around and put her hands on her hips. "Spiral Medical Squadron, sir. I'm the sole member of my squad, sir." Feron, looked concerned. "Ma'am, I humbly request that you stay with us for a while. We're in the middle of a battle zone with numerous wounded, and we'd greatly appreciate your assistance." The knight looked around for a moment, then conceded. "As you wish, Lieutenant." She gave her patient a bottle of water and some rations before darting back out to tend to the other wounded.
As I turned back to my original task of having the wounded figure on the ground transported for interrogation, I noticed a shadowy figure in the corner of the Square. It seemded to radiate animosity. Stepping into the light, I saw the abomination for what it truly was. A monstrosity of Swarm, formed in the likeness of the Isoran people. "What a lovely day isn't it?", The suspicious figure casually remarked. "It'd be a shame if something went wrong." With a snap of his fingers, a couple dozen Swarm infested creatures materialized around us. "Hand over the commander of the rose, and I promise that this day won't get any worse."
Commander of the Rose....?
I glanced at my feet toward the wounded knight. Was he the reason all of this had happened? I had no trouble believing that!
I faced my opponent and looked him in the eye.
"Well, like the gunslinger priests of old used to say, Not in my town."
With that, I telekineticly grabbed a fallen lightpole made of steel, and hurled it at my adversary, knocking him back into the rubble.
I used this moment to my advantage, selecting a few metal scraps off the ground, and melding them into one, long sword. It's razor-sharp edge gleamed in the light of the morning.
"Is that all you've got?"
"Is that all you've got?" The Necron seemed to be a bit stronger then expected, no matter. "Oh I'm just getting started." I brought out the swarm corrupted leviathan blade, and plunged it into the ground. Swarm crystals erupted in a straight line heading for the Necron. Dust was flown up from the rubble I had shifted. "CHARGE!" I shouted. Swarm infected wolvers, carnavons, and gremlins went into the fray. Hopefully that would stall the necron and the lieutenant for a while. I walked over to the target. One cut would seal his fate. I lowered my swarm blade, planning to nick him on the arm, this would all be over in seconds.....
"Oh, I'm just getting started," the abomination shot back at me. It lifted an accursed blade from its side, and plunged it into the earth. Magenta crystals imbued with the Swarm started shooting up in a line toward me.
Move, idiot!
I rolled to my right, and looked up just in time to block a void gremlin from sinking its ax into my head. I parried it's blade in the fluid style of my people. Shifting my stance, I sank the blade into the monsters mangy fur. It snarled and tried to claw at me. Concentrating, I vibrated the atoms of my sword. The heat energy generated burned the gremlin from the inside, ending its false attempt at life.
I looked around me at the mayhem. Lieutenant Feron was struggling to hold his ground, as well as protect the Medic and her patient, the "Rose Commander". But where was the Swarm leader?
A poking sensation on my arm gave me my answer. I glanced over and saw him attempting to stab me.
I scoffed. "You're gonna have to do better than that. I'd have thought the Swarm would know more about a race as old as my own. Our skin is like the very element we hold sway over."
A small mistake. If I couldn't infect the necron through a wound I'd just have to finish up and get to the commander. I ran to the nearest contingent of dying knights, not for long. I touched my palms to two fallen knights. Inhumane screams broke out. The fallen guardian and striker stood up, cold magenta eyes glaring. I pointed to the necron, that would buy me a few minutes. I ran towards the unconscious commander, firing negative energy to scatter anyone protecting him. It was time to end this.
I managed to break free from his grasp after the explosions. My heart was pounding in my ears, and my hearing was slowly returning. I quickly got up from the ground, and grabbed my Heavy Pulsar, slinging it over my shoulder. If all Knights were like this, I better get out of here. Fast. The Swarm cut had festered more, and I had a small headache. Hopefully I could get it out of my system before it finished the job of transforming me. Just as I got to the end of the block, I heard a croak from the Knight.
"Help...", he moaned. I looked back and he was lying on the ground, not too far from where I was. I had every reason to run away from this man, but something resonated in me that motivated me to help this Knight. I ran over to him, Pulsar still on my shoulder. I got on the ground and tried to lift his body on to my shoulder.
"A... little help...", I groaned out, trying to get him off the ground. My legs shook under his weight. He was pretty well-built on the outside, but I found myself unable to pick him up. I guess I didn't have enough muscle.
"A.... little help...." She groaned. She grabbed me, trying to get me off the ground. her legs crumpled underneath her, like mine, and she was on the floor with me, this time. She got up, groaning.
No..... Please don't leave me here.....
She looked at me, and started walking back, hesitating. She looked at me, and said, "I'm going to get help..... Stay here!"
As I looked down, there was no one below, which saddens me. "I guess they moved." I thought in my head. After all that then I moved back to that bunker thing I was in.
And then a explosion of some sort hit. ((OOC: That would be nathanial.))
The noise of it was astounding, with tremors that match the sound. I closed my eyes and cringed. After the explosion passed, I opened my eyes and looked around. "Huh." I said aloud to myself. "I guess this place IS essentially a bomb shelter. Good to know." As I looked around, everything was unchanged. Well, except maybe the china in the cupboards, but that's normal. I looked over at the window I had peered out of earlier and... yep. Glass is still there. Either that wasn't as bad as I thought, or that glass is as thick as the length of my arm. I realized I hadn't searched that guy I killed for valuables, so I did. I found a key that I assumed led here. I locked the door and put the key in my pocket so I could return here if need be. + I didn't see ANY positives of having civilians being in here. Well, positives for me.
I went up to see the devastation, and saw one spot was in mostly ruins, while parts farther off probably only felt tremors. I was luckily in that part of haven. In a bomb shelter. Huh, there goes my luck again. Looking around, there were a BUNCH of injured on the floor, and something strange. That something strange was that heir were swarm monsters around, even though I'm pretty sure the attack ended. I decided to jump down and run over there to see what's happening, because screw subtlety at this point, everyone who could see me is dead, unconscious, seriously injured, or busy helping the dead, unconscious, and seriously injured. I probably should keep my distance from the swarm monsters when I get there though, I don't want to get attacked by 50 people at once.
When I was almost there, I saw some guy collapsed on the ground with a ~half wolver girl trying to get him up. Something seemed strange about this scene, but I couldn't put my finger on it as I ran past. After just a little more running, I could see what was going on. Well, literally, but not at all figuratively (A.K.A. I have no idea what's going on). A medic and an unconscious man were surrounded by swarm while some guy made of rock ( I probably should pay more attention to what kind of species there are on cradle, but I don't care enough to do so) and Feron fended off swarm. I hated Feron, he's the one who gave me my ban, not that I've been following it at any rate. Other than the swarm, there was a man turning dead bodies into swarm, probably one of those swarm copies I heard about (at least I knew that). I feel as if this scene could be a metaphor for something. I probably should join the swarm in fighting, but I have absolutely no idea their trying to achieve. Maybe if a stare long enough, I'll understand what to do. I looked at those people I saw earlier. "Their a safe distance, right?" I wonder.
A bright light flashed before my eyes, and I suddenly lost sight of the Holy Angel. My eyes were clouded with dust, and when I rubbed it away, there he stood, his eyes angry and a frown on his face. From his expression, he probably knew I was out to kill him. Perhaps Holy Angels had the power to read minds? I contemplated this, but there was one problem. The power emanating from him was far too dark to be a "Holy" creature. It must be another one of that damned Master's tricks... I snarled. The clone readied his sword and charged at me, but I quickly sidestepped and tripped him. I quickly muttered the Latin words for "Lord, give me strength" and watched as my armor materialized, weaving itself from light. I felt the wounds in my wings start to heal, and held my spear out. Again, the doppleganger charged, and holding my shield back, waited until the last second. BANG! The sound of Aspis colliding with his skull resonated throughout the street, and the Swarm creature fell to the ground. For good measure, I roasted him with a blast of fire and walked off. Frowning at the mutilated corpse, I thought,
Now for my real target.
I got up from the ground, knocked down from that shadow-blast thingamabob. It knocked me right of my feet. I was probably laying here for 10 minutes or so? Doesn't matter, I was swarmed now with Swarm Zombies all around me. Gathering my strength, I swung a fierce 180-degree swing that took out all of them at my right side. One tried to swing at me but I kicked it and stabbed him before it knew what happened. I teleported behind the mob and began to chop them up into pieces. After a few minutes, all that layed there was a pile of black-purple dust.
Then, I took in my surroundings. Haven was in chaos. The attack was still going on. It seemed that there had been several explosions around Haven as well. Then I felt the jolting pain at my side. I looked down at my waist. There was a nasty cut where a zombie must have scratched me. It was a purplish-black. My mind raced. I needed to find a medic. I looked out but I just saw more and more swarm monsters. I took out my Acheron and charged.
My efforts to lift him up were unsuccessful, and I ended up on the ground, panting. I couldn't get him up, and he wasn't being helpful in doing so. That must mean he's seriously injured, I bet. I got up and started walking, intending to get some help. But I can't just leave him there, something in my mind said. Finding a medic is the least I can do.
I looked back at him, and said, "I'm going to get help, stay here!" I started running through alleys and streets, looking for someone. Haven was wrecked after the explosion, and was mostly deserted. The sky lit up with an golden light as the sun rose. It must be 6 in the morning... no wonder I'm tired. I started running towards the square, gun ready for any remaining Swarm monsters. Most of them were gone, but the ones that weren't blocked my way, forcing me to shoot them with what little ammunition I had left. One shot left now. I ran towards the square, looking around. Corpses were littered everywhere, and people were leaning against walls, clutching their wounds, groaning. Trying to ignore them, I ran through the Square.
I heard sounds of fighting ahead, and I went closer, focusing my eyes on the scene. Feron, who I recognized as the Spiral Order commander, was fending off monster upon monster belonging to the Swarm. He looked like he was having trouble. There was also a man who smelled very earthy, like the ground, and the smell of medicine and hydrogen peroxide. I identified the source as being a medic crouched over another man, with ornate designs on his hat and clothing. The rock person was helping fend off Swarm monsters as well. The air was full of their scent. I couldn't afford to fight, but this was probably the only medic for blocks around. I saw another man, crouching over dead bodies and seemingly bringing them back to life. The problem was, I had two shots left. If I fired now, I'd attract all the Swarm monsters to me, and I wouldn't have many efficient ways to defend myself. I had to try though, I couldn't just leave people to die. I shouted to the medic and the others fighting, warning them of the thing I was about to do.
"Cover your eyes! NOW!" I held down on the secondary trigger, causing the rifle's I-shaped muzzle to glow with a blue light. The energy gauge on the back started blinking, until it went dark. The computerized voice spoke. Photon Stock fully depleted. Please recharge in bright sunlight. I put my hand on the primary trigger, and held down, releasing a massive photon shockwave towards the creatures. But not before I heard a... grinding sound. Oh crap. A... misfire. I'd still probably do some damage, but not before doing damage to myself. I saw a flash of light, then I blacked out.
I raised my blade in the air and struck down, a cut on his right shoulder, it was over, the target had been infected. "NO!" the startled scream of Feron rang fresh through the morning air. I laughed, the infection would take a few days maybe, but it would happen. "Until our blades cross again!" I shouted to the necron. With another snap of my fingers the swarm monster vanished into shadow. I then pointed at Feron "Nothing on Cradle will save your doomed Order lieutenant, submit to the swarm and I'll make it all go away." I said manically, while gesturing to the destruction around me. And like that, I disappeared into shadow. I could FEEL the fear radiating from Haven.
Give in to the darkness.....
Opening my eyes, I found that Lieutenant Feron was standing next to me, along with a young nurse. I struggled to push myself off the ground with my hands, but soon made it standing. I put my hands on my knees as I started hyper-ventilating. Looking in front of me, I noticed that a woman was lying on the ground with her Pulsar on her hand.
She must have blacked out too....
I noticed immediately that Haven was in ruins, and that there was a cut on my shoulder. "Ack.. Ow..."I muttered, before lying down on the ground again. I looked towards the nurse and spoke politely,"Excuse me, but what is your name, fair maiden? And what happened whilst I was unconscious? It would be a great help." I flashed a grin at her for a moment, before I resumed my original state.
I struggle to get up, even though it was no use. I crawl towards a wall, propping my back up to it. I quickly inventoried my stuff. My Volt driver still have around 16 shots left, including the 2 shots inside the clip. My Boltbrand was 84% charged, from the blast I fired at the Wolver. I laid there for a moment, not moving, resting for a while, when I heard howling. I turned to see a few Void Wolvers patrolling. I prayed they wouldn't look at me, and prayed. The patrol continued walking, not seeing me. It had almost passed me when the last wolver, turned his head to my direction, it's black, pitless eys boring into mine. It yipped once, and instantly the whole patrol had me surrounded me. I quickly readied my sword and gun, when the first Wolver pounced. I quickly knocked it aside, finishing him off with a shot from my Volt Driver. That's when the whole patrol jumped me. I knocked Wolvers right and left, stabbing each of them. But I was overpowered and outnumber. My blade was knocked out of my hand, and gun was out of ammo. That's when everything went black.
I saw a knight wearing the Miracle set, laying on the ground, about to become lunch for a pack of void wolvers. Taking out my swords, I charged towards them. I sliced through two of them without them even knowing. This got the attention of the others. One tried to bite at me but I dodged and put my sword through it. Two came in front of me and behind me. I leaped to the side as they both tried to bite at the same time, and pulled out my Sentenza loading both of them with bullets. All that remained of the pack was a pile of dust.
I splashed some water on the knight with the Miracle Set.
"Ack! Ow..." groaned the guy. He laid back down on the ground and asked Winter, "Excuse me, but what is your name, fair maiden? And what happened whilst I was unconscious? It would be a great help." He flashed a flirty grin at her. She blushed and replied cheerfully, "I'm Winter! I don't really know what happened, because I just got here from helping that guy." She gestured to her earlier patient. "But don't trouble yourself too much - you're wounded, and you must save your strength."
She knelt beside him and looked over his wounds, her delightful fragrance filling the air around them. "My my! You've got some light burns and cuts, and a couple of misplaced joints. I'm gonna have to set them, which will be painful, so hang in there." After a couple of stifled yelps and some ugly cracking noises, his bones were back in place. She withdrew a squeeze bottle from her vitakit and applied a strange kind of gel to his wounds and replaced joints. The pain instantly vanished, and he felt his strength return to him.
She gently stroked his hair and whispered, "You'll be okay now. You held up remarkably well against a nasty explosion; such great strength is rare in a knight. Say, maybe when we're both more available, you should call me sometime." She handed him her card and winked before getting up to help the others.
__________
Her next patient was a kid wearing a Miracle set. Not far away from him was a strange-looking girl with wolver ears and a tail. Well...she'd seen stranger things. The Miracle boy had numerous wolver bites on his armor, but suffered comparatively little physical harm beyond a bleeding gash on his leg. That might have been the reason he was unconscious. She first sealed up the wounds with the healing gel and proceeded to inject artificial blood into his body.
Suddenly, a knight splashed water on the boy, getting a little on Winter. "Hey! Watch where you throw that!" she exclaimed half-jokingly. She brushed off the water and watched the Miracle boy intently to see if he'd wake up.
"Sorry.", I said sheepishly. I felt the pain on my waist where a wolver bit me. It was a red with blood but had a sort of purplish gleam to it. I looked at the nurse. I asked her, "Could you patch this up for me?".
Winter examined the wound on the knight's waist. It was a deep, bloody bite, but it was Swarm-infected. "Well...I'll see what I can do." She first cleaned it out with sanitation spray, then carefully extracted the Swarm infection with her scalpel. Naturally, that part hurt. She finished with some healing gel to seal up the wound and numb the pain.
"There!" she exclaimed. "No more Swarm nastiness in there. You'll be good as new in a day or two." She patted him on the cheek and stood up to leave for her next patient.
Suddenly all the swarm monsters disappeared, so I assumed I should probably get out of there. I ran along the shadows of the buildings to avoid being spotted by the no longer distracted people, heading for the arcade. When I got to the nearest elevator, I punched in the coordinates, inserted my energy, and went off.
I finally found the Holy Angel. He was getting up from a stretcher, a cut scored into his side. I frowned and walked over, a grim expression on my face. I took in all the wounded Knights and hardened my resolve to destroy the Swarm. It had caused these innocent people suffering, and it would pay. But first, I had to finish off the Holy Angel. As I closed in, he gave me a puzzled look- he was probably questioning how I recovered so fast. For a second, I stared at him and readied my weapon. Gripping my spear, I thrusted the blade at him. He rolled to the side just in time and looked at me, wide-eyed. My eyes blazed red with bloodlust and my spear glowed a fiery crimson. The knight asked in shock, "What are you doing?" Ignoring the startled bystanders around me, I tightened my hold on my spear and whispered,
"Killing you."
OOC: Thin, you going to introduce this Lady of Light any time soon?
Sorry for the short post, but I didn't want to powerplay Ultima's character, so I'll have to wait for his reply.
The girl seemed to blush faintly, but replied cheerfully,"I'm Winter! I don't really know what happened, because I just got here from helping that guy." She pointed to the patient that she healed earlier. She paused for a moment, before continuing. "But don't trouble yourself too much - you're wounded, and you must save your strength." She knelt beside me and scanned my body for wounds, her rose-like fragrance filling the air around me. "My my! You've got some light burns and cuts, and a couple of misplaced joints. I'm gonna have to set them, which will be painful, so hang in there." Using some ancient healing method, she put my bones back into place, and applied a strande kind of gel to my wounds and joints. The pain vanished, and I felt my power return to me. She gently stroker my hair and whispered,"You'll be okay now. You held up remarkably well against a nasty explosion; such great strength is rare in a knight. Say, maybe when we're both more available, you should call me sometime." She handed me her card and winked before getting up to help the others.
I laid down for a while, before a woman with curly, black hair that fell to her hips walked into the alley I was in and walked ever close towards me. She frowned for a moment, before I looked at her in awe. I wondered how she recovered so quickly; was that one of the properties of arch-angels? She stared at me and readied her spear, and thrusted her blade at me. Expecting her to do that, I rolled to the side in a nick of time, and looked at her in confusion. Her eyes were blazed with bloodlust and her spear suddenly glowed a fiery crimson. "What are you doing?"I inquired. That only made her hold her spear tighter as she whispered,"Killing you."
At once I knew what she was talking about. She was part of the angels that killed most of the Holy angels, and so she held a grudge against them for some reason I have yet to know. I winced, before struggling to stand up, and summoning my swords. "Please! I don't want to fight you. Why are you doing this?"
i awake to cold, really cold, water splashing on to my face. "Hey, watch where you throw that!" I quickly try and get up, and instantly winced from the pain. "Hey, watch it! You've got some nasty wounds there, young man." I look up to see a young, beautiful medic talking to me.
"Um..... Oh......" I stammered.
The girl giggled, and without a word went away. I laid on the floor, mesmerized, watching the pretty nurse.
"Top!" I hears someone yell, and a figure leaped on me, crushing me with a bone-crushing hug.
"Ow.... Ow." I muttered, and I saw Raechal on me."Geroff, Sis." I smiled at her.
She followed my gaze to the pretty nurse, and she whispered, "You got a crush on her?"
"Oh.... Um..... Of course not!" My voice hysterical.
"Oh... I'll go tell her." She winked at me, and skipped at the the direction of the young nurse, tending to the wolver-girl that tried to save me.
I groaned, and closed my eyes, awating death.
I lay near a gate, holding my bleeding shoulder. I didn't turn to metal in time to protect myself from the explosion completely. A silver-haired girl stands there, stunned. I look to her and smile. "Hey, you wouldn't happen to be an aid, would you?"
I suppressed a groan. The continuous fighting was taking its toll on everyone. Slumped against the side of one of the only buildings still standing, I surveyed the damage.
Feron had fought valiantly. It's no wonder he's the Commander of all the Isoran troops! Nothing, not even hundreds of void creatures, could keep him down! I searched the wreckage for him, and much to my amusement, there he stood in the crowd gathered around the pretty little medic.
Shaking my head, I cracked a smile.
Figures...
Suddenly, I had an idea. Taking my sword, I melded it down around my forearm like a gauntlet. You never know when you'll need another one of these!
Standing up, I noticed a girl with ears like a wolver lying in the dirt. My Commander instincts kicked in, and I decided I'd better make sure she wasn't a threat like the more...."progressed" mutants were.
Walking over, I prodded her leg with my foot.
"You there. To whom or what do your allegiances lie?"
As Winter tended to the wolver girl's wounds, a Necron wearing Chaos approached her with a smile on his face, and asked, "Hey, you wouldn't happen to be an aid, would you?" Winter smiled back at him and replied, "You bet I am! What do you need?" Before he could reply, she noticed the wound on his shoulder. "If it's your shoulder, I can take care of that right now for ya." The wound vanished with a quick application of healing gel.
Then another girl in a Vitasuit (medic, perhaps?) danced up to Winter, smiling and blushing like she'd seen a movie star. Winter found herself laughing before either of them had said a word. Once she stopped laughing, Winter asked her, "How can I help you?"
I stared coldly at the Holy/Chaos Angel as he struggled to his feet and slowly summoned two blades into his hands. "Please! I don't want to fight you. Why are you doing this?" He asked. A scowl spread on my face as I said, "You couldn't understand. Just know that I will kill you, and destroy your kind once and for all..." I concentrated my rage into the Angelic Spear and felt its fiery burn grow slightly hotter. My usually gentle gray eyes flared like a thunderstorm, and my face grew taut with anger. Spreading my wings threateningly, I ignored the hushed murmurs of the other Knights as I hissed coldly,
"You won't even live long enough to see the sunrise."
____________
OOC: Yay, dramatic ending! So, how do we proceed from here?
Btw, since nobody knows why Athena hates "Holy" and "Chaos" Angels, here's some background info. Ultima and I agreed that the Archangels and Valkyries were created to defeat the Holy and Chaos angels, and the former's numbers were decimated during the war. Well, Athena had a boyfriend at that time, another Archangel (named Gabriel) who valued her more than he valued his own life. During one of the last battles, he and many of the other Archangels were killed slowly and bloodily right in front of Athena, thus sparking her hatred for the Holy/Chaos angels. Ever since, she's harbored a grudge against them, and hasn't been able to move on from her comrades' inhumane deaths, even after the Valkyries finally wiped out the Chaos and Holy Angels. And because Nate is a Holy Angel, she naturally feels the urge to claim vengeance.
Gwenyvier approached the Spiral HQ Main Center. Normally, the guards would have stopped her and asked for ID, but they dared not challenge the strange, beautiful lady. She stepped inside and asked to see Captain Ozlo, and within minutes, she was escorted to his office. Ozlo, clearly uncomfortable with having such a stunning woman in is presence, nervously beckoned her to sit down. "Wh-what d-do you want, m-ma'am?" Gwen smiled reassuringly, and all of Ozlo's fears melted away in an instant. "I have a little problem. You see, I was walking down to the Arcade the other day, and was assaulted by thugs." Ozlo perked up. How...dare anyone try to hurt such a woman! Gwen continued. "But then, a certain fellow called 'Thomas' rescued me from them, but in doing so caused panic throughout the town. Can you help him out?" Ozlo stood to attention and replied curtly, "I'll do my best, ma'am. The situation shall be promptly resolved." Gwen smiled and sighed with relief before giving him a light peck on the cheek.
There was a thump as Gwen walked out of the office.
__________
Thomas received a email message from Ozlo:
"Meet me at the Spiral HQ Main Center for a debriefing on your recent incident. I have important information for you."
Thomas may or may not have noticed the presence of Azure Guardian investigators in the residence zones.
I looked at my surroundings, a sinister purple light filled the area. The unknown passages had grown, expanding farther, but the light of the sanctuary, the core, and even the pesky valkyries kept the swarm at bay. Not for long. Suddenly a cold air blew through the area, the Master had arrived There was a cry of fear behind me. Surrounded by 8 void gremlins was a helpless knight. Heeding the Masters instructions I had brought a test subject. The knight was shoved viscously towards the dark figure at the end of the hall. The Master grinned. "There was something that you needed to show us?" I said questioningly.
My eyes lost focus for a second, something was happening. I found myself looking out of the Commander of the roses eyes. A figure in regal battle armor stood before him. "You won't live long enough to see the sunrise." I realized that it was the valkyrie. This wasn't good, I couldn't have her killing off our person of interest. "Attack you idiot!" I shouted mentally into his mind, as long as the wound remained I'd have at least some access to his mental functions. He seemed to shrug out the idea, and just remain in a defensive pose. "Sir, the target is being attacked, by a valkyrie it seems." I said to the Master. I waited for a reply, I wanted no NEEDED to fight the valkyrie her kind should know better, the knights were nothing but animals.
My ears flicked about as I groaned awake. Looking around, I didn't see the telltale dust piles signifying the remains of a Swarm monster. Or burn marks from the photon shockwave. How embarrasing. My Heavy Pulsar misfired and didn't even do anything. I felt a gentle hand patching up various scrapes and cuts I had accumulated during my time out of Haven, and I looked up. It was that medic earlier, smiling warmly as she tended to my injuries. I felt a prodding at my leg just after the Medic finished tending to my more... miscellaneous injuries. The Swarm cut had seem to have vanished also. I sat up, looking at the person who was trying to grab my attention. He was the tall stone man from earlier, and he didn't look happy as I stared back at him with my golden eyes.
"You there. To whom or what do your allegiances lie?", he sternly stated, glaring. That's right. Who was I friends or enemies with?
I'm not sure. I hated the Swarm's guts for taking my friends and coworkers away from me, but humankind and the Knights weren't much better. I remember the day of my change, people were afraid and angry, saying I should die and I was an abomination.
"Nobody at all. I don't ally myself with anyone in particular. Just nice people", I replied, looking back at him fiercely.
The Swarm's wounds were gone, but I had a headache still. What was wrong with me? I picked up my gun and pressed a few buttons.

Trigger Control: OK
System Monitor: OK
Energy Feed: OK
Photon Stock: FAILED
Photon Drive: FAILED
Oh no... If the Photon Drive failed, it could have discharged radiation. That's not good. At all. I could be dead within hours depending on how much I absorbed. It wasn't a big range, so it was probably just me.
"Also, do you have a dosimeter?", I asked the stone man, a concerned look on my face.
She didn't answer, but instead continued to stare coldly at me and scowled."You couldn't understand. Just know that I will kill you, and destroy your kind once and for all..." She concentrated her burning rage into her spear as the air around her grew hotter by the minute. Her eyes were of a blood red, her countenance showing utter disdain for me. Spreading her wings and readying a battle stance, she began her assault. "You won't even live long enough to see the sunrise."
"Attack you idiot!"A voice shouted in my head. Instantly I knew it as the voice of the man who summoned the Void Wolvers to attack us. I decided to anger him further by not attacking and keeping calm. I thought of my options in my head.
One, I could defeat her in battle. She would only hate me more, but at least I wouldn't be dead. Anyway, I'm injured. I need more rest. Two, I could lose this battle. But I would lose my life as well, which I don't want. Three, I could run away from this battle and look like a coward, but even so, she would probably run after me. Four, I could tell her that I'm not actually an angel, and spare both our lives. I pick Four.
"Beautiful Archangel, I mean you no harm. I am not an angel; I am just an Isoran who was gifted with a soul capable of using the powers of Holy Light and Chaos. So please, I ask you to stop this madness and join my team in stopping the real enemy: The Swarm." I de-materialized my swords and grinned at her seductively, before I held out my hand to her.
Ah, my servant has arrived, and he has brought my knight too. Good man. "Yes, there was something I wanted to show you. Bring hither the knight." The Void gremlins brought over the shivering knight and pushed him to his knees in front of me. I think Axis will like this. I brought out my knife, instantly sending the knight into a panicky fit. I gripped the knight's throat, gouged out his eye, and replaced it with Swarm seed. The knight was still screaming and clutching his eye socket after I finished. Within moments, the knight's eye had regenerated, and he looked none the worse for what I'd done to him.
I smiled wickedly at Axis. "Enjoy your remote control knight." I think Axis is smart enough to figure out the strategic implications of this demonstration.
The knight could only look on in terror. Oh, how I love that look!
I grinned at what the Master was hinting at. Focusing my mind I reached out towards the knight, and successfully seized control. With another snap of my fingers, the knight was teleported back to Haven, unaware of the events that had just unfolded. The best part was, any influence I had on our sleeper agent wouldn't startle him, the actions would seem to have come from his own mind. I looked around at the war-torn city, too bad it was still in one piece. I found that "I" was now wearing the standard Spiral Order gear, Azure set, Aegis, Leviathan blade, and a valiance. Once I got my bearings, I sprinted off to the town square, I had to stop that fight. I found the scene almost immediately. The valkyrie was practically an inferno of hatred, I could even feel the malice and spite without my supernatural powers.
I calmed myself then charged in. "HEY! STOP!" I yelled. "We can't afford to bicker among ourselves!" I finally saw how much fear we inspired, everyone in Haven was caught in an aura of fear, even the valkyries were on edge. I got a fiery glare from the valkyrie, I could practically feel her eyes boring into my soul. Pathetic. I had withstood a lot more then glares, but if I wanted to even seem CLOSE to human I had to act scared. I let myself start to quiver a bit, and make my hands shake pathetically. "L-Look, I-I don't care who you are, but no one here can afford you guys to fight, especially now, not when the swarm's knocking on Haven's front door." I said, confidently, putting some fear into my voice to sound a bit more realistic. I looked between the valkyrie and the commander of the rose, if this ended up going downhill, we'd probably be losing our target by the end of the day.
Raechal:
The girl that Top had a crush on laughed. She had a beautiful laugh. After she was finished, she grinned at me, and asked, "How can I help you?"
I grinned at her, and whispered to her, "My brother Topo has a HUGE crush on you."
The girl smiled, and asked, "Who might he be?"
I smiled back at he, and pointed.
The girl whispered to Winter, "My brother Top has a HUGE crush on you." She gestured to the Miracle boy she'd helped earlier. Winter chuckled, went over to him, and knelt beside him. His eyes were tightly shut, but he was clearly conscious, probably pretending to be asleep. He wasn't fooling anybody. Winter patted him on the back and whispered in his ear, "Hey sleepyhead, I know you're awake. Get up; a little exercise will be good for you." With surprising strength, she hoisted him to his feet.
She winked at Raechal slyly.
The wolver-girl stared up at me with a confused look in her eyes. "Nobody at all. I don't ally myself with anyone in particular. Just nice people." Her gaze intensified with a sudden fierceness. To my surprise, I actually felt a twinge of uneasiness creep up on me. I felt like I was staring into the eyes of an enraged Alpha Dusker.
Snap out of it...
I blinked to wash the unusual feeling away. The girl had apparently lost interest in me, and was inspecting her damaged gun. A Heavy Pulsar if I'm not mistaken. She glanced back up at me with concern evident on her face. "Also, do you have a dosimeter?"
A dosi-what?
For some reason, I was at a loss for words. "Uh...I...no, no I don't." The girl looked disappointed. Not certain of what to do, I tried to salvage the situation. "What's your name?"
Athena
A frown spread across my face as the boy said, "Beautiful Archangel, I mean you no harm. I am not an angel; I am just an Isoran who was gifted with a soul capable of using the powers of Holy Light and Chaos. So please, I ask you to stop this madness and join my team in stopping the real enemy: The Swarm." He gave me a seductive smile, and I could feel my face turn a red brighter than a Vog's bottom. No... That smile... That was the smile that my friend Gabriel used to give me... At least before he and many of my other friends were executed. I shook my head, trying to force those thoughts out of my head. No matter how much this guy reminded my of Gabe, no one could replace him. No one...
My mind snapped back to reality as I looked at the hand in front of my face. The boy had extended his arm towards me, smiling. I examined him a bit further and resisted the urge to slap myself. It was true; he really wasn't a Holy/Chaos Angel... How could I be so dumb? I really did wipe out the last of them... A sigh escaped from my mouth, and I continued to glare suspiciously at the boy. Suddenly, an irritating voice shouted, "HEY! STOP! We can't afford to bicker among ourselves!" A Knight rushed over to us, and I shot him a withering glance. After a few moments, he quivered a bit and said, "L-Look, I-I don't care who you are, but no one here can afford you guys to fight, especially now, not when the Swarm is knocking on Haven's front door!" I glared at him, my eyes raging with the fury of a hurricane. I sighed and said, "Fine. I'm here to destroy the Swarm as well." The Knight winced ever so slightly as I said this, but I chose to ignore it. Probably just nerves. I sighed and resigned myself to befriend these people. Perhaps they could help the other Valkyries and I in our mission to eradicate the Swarm.
I turned to the boy and said -my voice notably less cold-, "Perhaps I may be of assistance."

Leonidas
I sighed as I took in the destruction inflicted on my home. Slain Knights and Monsters littered the streets, their blood soaking the roads of the so called "Haven". I gave a disgusted look to one of the rotting corpses and trudged onward. Entering the stately, pearl-white Law Enforcement building, I calmly walked towards Ozlo's office. He was chief of security, so he was responsible for this. A guard stopped me -Private Kana- and said, "State your business, Leo." I flashed her a grin and said, "Ozlo in his office today?"
"Yeah, the jerk's busy eating noodles." I smiled at Kana and replied -my grin growing wider as her face grew redder, "Thank you, my beautiful friend." I began walking down the hallway again, and was stopped once more by her. "Wait," she pleaded, her face flushing a Brit crimson, "While you're there, can you give Ozlo a punch to the gut? I caught him looking through my underwear again." I rolled my eyes; it wasn't uncommon for the chief to do stuff like this. "Sure thing," I smirked.
I carelessly kicked the door to Ozlo's office open and watched as the Chief promptly dropped his pad thai noodles to the floor. He scowled at me, then wiped part of his black mop of hair away from his face. Aghast, he looked at his spilt food and frowned. An irritated expression on his face, he asked, "What do you want this time, Leo?"
"We need to talk."

OOC: Now what do we do? We need Liminori and any other missing characters to come in, and until that happens, I'm not sure what we could do.
By the way, if anyone wants, I can draw their character for free! I need more stuff to draw, so this is a perfect opportunity.
I felt myself hoisted up, and I open my eyes to see the pretty medic that just patched me up, saying, "Hey sleepyhead, I know you're awake. Get up; a little exercise will be good for you."I glared at Raechal, and promptly fell over.
"Ow...." I mutter. I still wasn't used to using my stupid prosthetic legs. "I hate my &@#$in' legs." Suddenly, I felt tears streaming from my eyes. I tried to control them, but it was a sudden emotional outburst. I just wept right in front of the girl I had a crush on and my sister. I slammed my legs on to the pavement, HARD.
She blushed as she pondered upon the situation, and looked at me in disappointment, as if I was not the designated target she was looking for. She sighed as she glared at me in suspicion, when an irritating voice screamed,"HEY! STOP! We can't afford to bicker among ourselves!" A weak looking knight rushed over to us, and she shot him a withering glance. He shivered a bit and stuttered,"L-Look, I-I don't care who you are, but no one here can afford you guys to fight, especially now, not when the Swarm is knocking on Haven's front door!" She sighed and said,"Fine. I'm here to destroy the Swarm as well." She turned to me and spoke, her voice notably less cold,""Perhaps I may be of assistance." I retracted my hand as I smiled, and began to speak. "Alright then. We'll still need more members if we want to win. But we'll need a medic first."
I led the way to the alley way in which I was in before to look for Winter, the nurse. She was helping a knight in Miracle Armor to stand up, the knight in Miracle Armor pretending to be asleep. Obviously with his bad acting, it would not fool anyone. I walked close to Winter and seductively spoke,"Winter. We need your help in destroying the swarm. If you would help us in our quest as our medic, it would be a great help." I smiled at her again, hoping she would accept the offer.
The boy muttered a curse at his legs and slammed them on the pavement as he broke down in tears. Winter sat next to him and put her arm around him. "Hey, it's okay man! You're not the only person I know with prosthetic legs, and you certainly won't be the last. I know it's a little hard to control, but you'll get it figured out. Besides, people with prosthetics tend to be nicer and humbler than usual, which I think is kinda hot." She gently rubbed his back, trying to soothe him a little.
Nathaniel approached Winter and said in his fabulous seductive voice, "Winter, we need your help in destroying the Swarm. If you would help us in our quest as our medic, it would be a great help." She looked at Top; he was likely a bit jealous, considering Nathaniel's alluring way of talking to her. She nudged Top and asked, "What do you think, Top? Should we go?" She grinned from ear to ear, clearly wanting to go.
"Hey, it's okay man! You're not the only person I know with prosthetic legs, and you certainly won't be the last. I know it's a little hard to control, but you'll get it figured out. Besides, people with prosthetics tend to be nicer and humbler than usual, which I think is kinda hot." I heard the nurse say. I dried my tears, and looked up to see a boy coming up to the medic, asking her in a seductive voice, ""Winter, we need your help in destroying the Swarm. If you would help us in our quest as our medic, it would be a great help." Winter nudged me, asking, ""What do you think, Top? Should we go?" We? When was I included into this 'quest'? Winter was grinning from ear to ear, so she clearly wanted to go. I tried to stand up, with help from Winter. "I guess so? I'll go if my sister is going." I glance at Raechal, who was peeking from the cover of a tree.
Just as I asked the question, a confused look spread over the man's face. I wonder if he even knows what a dosimeter is?
"Uh... I... no, no I don't", he stammered out. I put on a disappointed face, doing my best to hide my fear. I needed to figure out how much radiation I absorbed. Fast. I could be sick and miserable within an hour, something I did not want to be in front of people.
Out of nowhere, he asked, "What's your name?"
"It's... Ukai." Soon after I said that, my stomach grumbled. Realizing that I hadn't eaten for well over 12 hours, I felt the hunger pains return, wincing. I also noticed that my body was thin and bony, emaciated as a result of not eating a proper meal since I was cast out of Haven. I was in a pitiful state. Incredibly hungry, I got up to leave, in search for food.
"I'm going to look for some food for myself, I'll be back soon", I said to him, leaving my now broken Heavy Pulsar on the ground. I walked through the Square, searching for a possible source of sustenance. Eventually, I found a discarded Wolver Coat (which bothered me for some reason) lying in an alley not too far away. I dug through the pockets, looking for food the owner of the fur coat may have left in there, probably saving it for later. Finding some snacks, I gathered a few small boxes of crackers, and a bottle of water, putting them in the deep pockets of the baggy shorts I was wearing. I tossed him a when I got back, and started eating the crackers ravenously, wolfing them down, if you will.
I arrived at my favorite hang out, Royal Jelly Palace. Well, not a NORMAL Royal Jelly Palace. It had been cleared of all traces of slime thoroughly. This was MY R.J.P, the one I used to break the record. I use it as kinda a base for myself, as I'm not "allowed" to be told where the main base is. They of course know I hang out here. "I'm getting kinda tired." I think to myself. I probably should go to bed. I head to the last depth, the place I made my "room" out of. I open the secret panel, press the button, and sprint to my little corner of living before the traps turn on. I placed them there in case anyone tries to infiltrate. I then lie in bed and rest for a while.
I heard a knight asking a medic to come along in a quest. Lost after that giant battle, I bumped in asking, "What quest? If you need an extra person, I'm ready."
The other girl didn't seem to hear me, but the other Knight did something I did not expect. Looking back at me, he looked startled but then his eyes blazed with fury as he started dashing towards me, using the Materialization System to bring out his Volt Driver instead, a sleek-looking handgun compared to my clunky and somewhat outdated. The Knight lunged towards me, trying to tackle me, and successfully doing so, knocking my Heavy Pulsar out of my arms and knocking the wind out of me as I crashed on to the pavement. I could hear the computerized voice of my firearm's system droning on from here.
Photon Stock damaged. Analyzing ammunition... five shots remaining."Ngh! I'm not one of them! I still have a mind of my own!", I yelled at him, trying to tell him of my situation. Yes, my DNA was partially changed, but I wasn't fully mutated. Not like those other ones.
Things only got worse. Just after my gun's management system spoke, explosions rang out around the city, rupturing my sensitive ear drums. Thankfully I wasn't caught in the blast. I quickly regained my composure though, attempting to wriggle out of the Knight's hold and run away.
