Well, since battle sprites are coming up i thought, what the hell, i'll try to suggest something fun. anyhow, here's how it works:
it's a small back cube with purple edges & outline and a swarm eye in the middle. while using it (i'm not sure if other sprites will have this, so i might change the suggestion later) you have -3 health bars and asd low. it attacks normally, but it has a special attack: posession (only 1 posession per special attack). the tier one can posess only basic monsters (wolvers, chromas, devilites, etc) the t2 can posess things like mecha knights and alpha wolvers ,and the t3 can posess lumbers and trojans. while posessed ,monsters attack other monsters AND YOU. you cant undo the posession until the posessed body is destroyed, and then your swarm cloud joins you once again.(it will only target you after allenemies are destroyed)
thats pretty much it.
rate?
B.S suggestion: swarm cloud.
"it attacks normally, but it has a special attack"
Sprites (supposedly) don't work like that. They'll have 3 activable abilities.
Random question, would a wolver buff or a silkwing do anything?
Question: Why are you suggesting a piece of the Swarm should be a Battle Sprite? How did the knights get their hands on it? How would a chunk of the Swarm be used as a remote-controlled reconnaissance device?
@Thunder.
1-stop me. :p
2- so, in your opinion, how should it work?
3- Well, now that you mentioned it ,do you think it should be something like one posession per level?
maybe a reload time should be implemented with it. AND a posession time as well, while the monster could still attack.
@Li'l J
I seem to be missing something. As far as i know, sprites have their default attack (one of the two damage types theyre allowed to use). and their special ability, which is the defense debuff, or the shielding, or whatever, depending on the sprite. Care to correct me if i missed something out?
@Hex
Thanks for pointing that out. Ready for some crappy excuse for a backstory? Here it goes: It's certain battle sprite, used for detecting all types of transmission frequencies, that fell further that others when arriving or cradle and somehow (ha-ha! I don't even have to explain how it happened, ain't that nice?) and managed to pick up a swarm signal. while not actually part of the swarm itself ,it somehow (see? i used it again! golly that's fun!) has recieved part of the message of how the swarm urges to corrupt al things living. However, its original programming has an edge on the orders of the swarm, since cradle's corruptive force is very well-guarded behind expensive shadow keys(does that count as satire?), and only because of its powerful reception did it manage to get in touch. It was found by some adventurer and brought back for repairs, but its appearance had change to mimick its new half-master, and it cant be used for transmission because it would be too dangerous to let it pick up even more dangerous signals. so now knights use it to cripple oposing hordes of monsters by turning their allies against them, albeit going a bit crazy and attacking its own knight in the process.
anywho, thats it for now. i'll be adding a few mechanics for how the posession wil lwork and how it will be restricted. thanks for the feedback, guys.
Cool idea, but It would be a 'little' OP don't you think? Having a party of four with one of these T3 sprites each and then taking the form of 2 lumbers and then 2 trojans. That's like having a party of people with DA's with CTR, ASI and Dmge v undead on max!! (Exaggerating a 'little') See the resemblance? Maybe the possessed monsters would only do half the normal damage or something. That's a suggestion for a suggestion!! Rather ironic eh? ^^
Thanks, Aced-acer.
All this thread is is a "I want pets that fight for me so I can just do nothing through the entire level and not get hurt at all"
lol "BS" suggestion, i guess title says it all.
right, next wave of asnwers (thanks for the feedback, peeps, and sorry for taking so long)
@ Aced.
right, im thinking on several ways to nerf monsters that are posessed. the idea is that you have an edge with this sprite, not a won battle . soon enough ill be putting up some sort menu with possible functioning ways.
@Hex don't get me wrong, the idea was never that you could let it do the work all by itself. like i said up above ^, ill ad some ideas when i find time (some suggestions would be nice, too)
@As. oh ,you naughty little mewkat, you.
I know your intentions are good, but your idea is asking for pets to be implemented exactly the way that pretty much everyone has agreed they shouldn't be implemented.
It's the reason why the developers didn't implement pets as seperate entities in the first place.
If you want a reason why this idea is bad, search up pretty much any pet suggestion thread.
1 don't suggest something on something that is still to be released.
2 if you want someone to get the job done for you, this is not the way.
3 if it is implemented, it will be one monster per run at max.
