I've been reasonably happy with the haze bomb line, but before I go ahead and craft my Haze Burst into a Stagger Storm (and spend all those krogmo coins) I was wondering if anyone thinks one of the other normal stun bombs (BAB or Irontech) is better. Those deal much more normal damage so I can see them being more useful but I also notice they only have a fair chance of inflicting stun.

I know about the other trade-offs (slower walk speed and fuse time) on those normal bombs. Does anyone have a preference on which stun bomb is better of the 3?

BAB is for keeping things at bay irontech is for DPS and swagger storm is to protect your party members from their own lack of skill. They all hae stun yes but they are very different and swagger storm is much better at stunning things witch seems to be what your really going for.

P.S. proto bomb has stronger stun then BAB and irontech think about that for a second...

If you prefer the status effect only, haze bomb is way to go. Just imagine haze bombs is actually continuous pulse (multiple non-damage hit) that tries to make the enemies stunned, unlike other bombs with their single or double hits only per charge. The other alternatives are not reliable to apply stun, btw you are missing one stun bomb, Scintillating Shard Bomb.

I'd say Swagger for consistent stun and SSS for powerful stun.

BAB and Irontech simply do not inflict stun quite as well as the other two, although they're nice. Irontech is nicer, though. BAB does steroids and stuff. A little Snipe once told me BAB slapped poor little Cautery Sword in the face because she wouldn't finish her Rocky Cores. Nitronome heard and called the Order but BAB fought back and killed two knights. He spent 33 years in jail after that.

I have stagger, BAB, and soon irontech, but SSS will still be my favourite.

Thanks for the replies. I completely forgot about the shard bombs! I don't like their mechanics since the change but I do still have an old RSS with a VH UV vs undead that I could try (that UV is pretty useless now, I suspect beast or fiend LOW is better now, thanks for nothing OOO!! grrr). That might be the bomb I'm looking for then.

Yes I am looking mainly for the stun effect, and I know all haze bombs are best for status because its almost guaranteed to inflict the status with the mist haze, but I was hoping another bomb might have a decent enough chance of inflicting stun even if it won't be as high a chance as the haze line. I've noticed some guns (Polaris, Callahan, Plague Needle, alchemers) seem to inflict status fairly regularly and it got me thinking maybe I should try other stun bombs for stun status also. But then again guns hit many times, while most bombs hit just once like Poopsie said, and it seems like other bombs just don't have a high enough chance to inflict stun.

Ahem*

Shard bombs can hit up to 3 times PER bomb (core + 2 ring shards) and shard bombs benefit hugely from damage increase for some reason.

In a sentence; Higher DPS than nitro, better stun than BAB, less disruption than irontech and friends.

Just takes practice! try it!
