I can't decide between the wolver or jelly/skelly/magic because first of all, I like to be different. I don't really want to be another wolver and I want to try and avoid that line however I mostly use swords, but I alaways carry either a gun or bomb with me and i usually use them but not as much. Plus the jelly/skelly/magic line has more status resistances + defence. The problem is I also lilke the sword bonuses...Any thoughts?

Is Jelly gear popular at all? I thought Wolver and Gunslinger to be the standard for Pierce defense, with anything else being oddballish for Pierce.
Well, if you care about how many others use the same gear as you do... uh, everything that looks good to me is also fairly common, I think- Chaos or Plate depending on taste and aptitude, but also Bomber, Gunslinger, yadda yadda based on weapon type preference. I dunno for sure since I don't really pay attention to which armors other people choose, just their weapons, so I might be wrong about some of those options being popular. Maybe hybridising Bomber with Gunner will make you stand out in a crowd, if most peops focus on one class for those bonuses.

Anyways, something being mainstream doesn't mean it's BAD to wear it. The reason why people wear it is because its USEFUL. I feel that the hate towards clones is biased mostly, there are many other good armours too! So if you really like swinging that sword, or you are planning to be a pure sword user like Bopp and me, get the Wolver line.
I think i'll chose the wolver line, Bopps right about just wearing a costume and Zorby you're right about it not being bad if people use it. Plus it will save me money on recipes, thanks guys! :)
My sword guide discusses armor choices for sworders in some detail. Skolver, Vog Cub, and Chaos are the obvious choices. Remember that you can always wear a costume.
