I have a 21,000 crown bid on a Boosted Plate Shield going for 23,500 crowns.
If I gain 2,500 crowns before the auction is over, would it count the crowns already in
the bid and let me buy it immediately, or would I have to wait until I win the bid
or get outbidden?

You must not have read his first post. Please; this isn't Facebook.
He has a bid on an item of 21k cr. The buyout is 23.5k.
Because he made that bid, he doesn't have that 21k, but if he earned 2500 more then combined he'd have enough cr to buyout the item.
He's asking if he has the bid of 21k cr and he has 2500 cr in his current inventory, could he still buy the item even though he doesn't have a full 23.5k in his inventory? My guess would be no, that the AH takes cr straight from your arsenal and doesn't bother with combining bids and extra. You'd still receive the 21k bid back, but you'd have to have a full 23.5k cr in your inventory to buy the item. This could be easily tested in seconds with a material or something, but my guess is the game wouldn't factor your bid and current cr in arsenal together.
If you've already got a bid in then ALL of the money gets returned to the account when you're outbid. This lets you put a new offer in at a higher rate if you can afford it. =)
