The game will randomly freeze on me. The music will still continue to play in the background and I can move the cursor but everything on-screen freezes in place. This happened just now for the 3rd time as I was about to step on the elevator to complete one of the 5-2 missions, so you can imagine my annoyance.

If I try to close the client, it just doesn't work. I tried closing it via task manager and also ending the process but nothing. I have to log off/shut down my computer to exit it. Its happened twice in a dungeon/mission and once when I was just lazing about in Haven. I'm playing the steam version on Win 7, and my drivers are up to date. I have tried updating Java, re-installing the game, and validating through steam but to no avail.

Greetings,

Sometimes the uninstaller built into Steam doesn't always remove all of the old Spiral Knights files and allows an problem file to allow a bug to survive between reinstalls. Please try the following steps to make sure all of your old Spiral Knights file are removed.

  1. Right-click Spiral Knights in the Steam Library and choose the "Delete Local Content..." option to remove the game.
  2. Navigate to your Steam Spiral Knights folder (default C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\spiral knights) and delete any remaining files or folders.
  3. Go to Spiral Knights in the Steam Store and install the game again normally. The game will automatically patch to the current version when launched.

Thanks for the help

I manually deleted the remaining files from the common folder, reinstalled, and I haven't had any issues since. Thanks for the help, much appreciated. As for Iobit's game booster, I actually already have it. :P
