Meteor Motes DO exist!

I've just found out that the seemingly ultra-rare material, "Meteor Mote," is indeed implemented in the game. I've just talked to someone who had one and managed to sell it for an instant 10k.
One problem: he couldn't remember where he got it. T_T
I didn't make a thread asking about this earlier because I didn't think the Meteor Mote was even IMPLEMENTED YET, but now that I know otherwise, I will ask: does anyone know what enemy drops it?

it's kind of cruel for the devs to add recipes that need things like meteor mote, sun silver, rock salt, etc, and not actually make them available in any kind of reasonable quantity :(
the incredible rarity of blast powder falls along these same lines -- no wonder nobody uses bombs, they can't make any!
