This is possibly the stupidest thing I have found out. This game's economy is so far SO BROKEN that in order to gain 200 Energy you have to waste about 30 minutes- 2 hours to obtain it. BUT that's not whats dumb, whats dumb is considering the minimum wage of a worker or even a paperboy actually WORKING for CE is more worth it than playing the game D: Go setup a Lemonade stand for 25 cents, sell 3 glasses you have 200 energy lol
Dumbest Calculation EVER
This is not dumb, this is intentional. Pretty much all free-to-play games where you can buy the paid content with in-game currency wind up where the work required to earn the in-game currency is far more than it would take to earn the real cash to buy it.
The same is true of those ad-answering gimmicks where you take questionnaires and get a gamecard.
The only exception to the rule is a rare few players who can actually earn the in-game currency more efficiently than they could earn the cash (Usually because they're in the top 1% or just very lucky), or that they earn the currency by actually playing the game in an enjoyable fashion. For the majority of the players, it's a waste of time, you're better off just mowing a lawn for an hour for five bucks and buying the currency straight out.
so go sell 3 cups of lemonade.
He has no money (like me), doesn't know to make in-game money efficiently (unlike me), therefore he is upset.
This game was meant to be a casual game. People just took it to the next level.
Which is a complement, if hard-cores think it's worth investing in, then game has substance and potential.
Assuming:
Your goal is just to make an ingame profit by any means possible
You can find a way to make money at any given time during the day
Every individual minute is worth the same potential amount of money as every other individual minute, for every person
Then you are absolutely correct and it is ridiculous that you are playing the game at all.
Here's even dumber calculations:
1 + 1 = fun on a bun
I can't think of any micropayment-based game in the history of ever where grinding in-game was as effective a way to generate in-game resources in terms of pure time spent than working nearly any job in nearly any country where such games are popular and easy to play. It's not much of a business model if it's better for the playerbase to take time off of work to grind out stuff in-game than to, you know, actually support the company.
I'm actually a very successful player TYVM. This really isn't a rant or offense of anything I just find it .... OK so yeah Ironical. Not asking if the word Irony is properly used here but whatever. Also if you think I'm a noob Ranting i Have a lvl 10 Gran Faust, and a lvl 10 Cold Iron Vanquisher which I made with less help from actual money than you would think -.- also full 4 star armor. Blood, Sweat and Tears.
PS. those who make lots of In-Game currency are usually the annoying players who have good stuff to sell and spam the dang Trade chat with blocks of unreadable text. (Not that I don't do this from time to time)
how to sell 3 cup of lemonade in 30 mins if u dont have the place to sell it?
no guarantee u can sell em in 2 hours as well
if somehow u managed to sell em, then u did take some preparations (stand? tables? process of making thosellemonades?)
Energy u need to work (real Energy not CE) won't be counted as well
Lastly, u missed those fun moment u should've had if u're playing instead of selling lemonades.
Can I have a cup of lemonade please? I'm getting thirsty from laughing at your post
Lol @ Magnus, your math is flawless.
Also, what game isn't a negative return on time investment? I can name quite a few F2Ps that offer survey methods to gain Cash Shop cash, where the gains of farming surveys are lower than minimum wage. If you want more money, put in some overtime at your job and you'll make more than you would have playing the game for profit.
I still don't understand why people are getting worked up for those energy "issues". SK is free to play, buying it using $ or using crowns is just up to you; but if you don't want to spend $, and don't want to farm crowns to get it, you've got two choices:
-Wait.
-Quit.
Obviously if you don't like the idea of "working" (and by the mean of that, playing, actually), then don't play, that's it.
I don't understand what people are having problems with. I've never paid cash, can only go into the dungeons on *some* Friday afternoons (when I can use my Grandparent's fast Internet connection), and am nearly into T3. Yes, I've played from launch and, yes, I used the CE exchange to make profits bit by bit, but there's no reason why a Free player should have problems.
So what is your problem? Are you a chinese wow gold farmer?
