For the longest of times I have been going down the Nightblade line. I think that it would be a great idea if the Shadow Element had an actual Power such as Health Drain or something like that.

Shadow, elemental, piercing, normal are damage types that do nothing else but damage.
What you want would be a status effect such as poison or fire.
Exactly Little-Juances! a health drain effect! just imagine how cool that would be.
Not a bad idea... A new status effect, eh? That might alter the game mechanics quite a bit though.
Health drain effect will give the same side effect as "any kind of unlimited health regeneration"
but you will just do not stop striking the enemies...
remember: some maps, like compound-type, have unlimited spawn, unlimited spawn = more things to strike = unlimited health regeneration = Overpower
The most balanced thing to come to mind is healing after X amount of crowns/heat collected. Respawning enemies don't drop crowns nor heat.
Kind of silly but could work. Also prevents healing in a boss fight.
try with wáter status:
-reasonable way to heal players.
-it would take out the fire of some freeze resistant enemies and couse as much damage.
-very easy to balance and perfect thing to introduce in the game.

no healing besides what we have. in this case, RJP will be come even easier that it is now, and all jelly/gremlin depths will be farmed to death.
