Anyone who wants a taste of the supposedly nerfed Fiends should go into the undead arena in the depths of the latest gate. Every single spawn that normally pops out a mecha knight pops out a Greaver instead. 12+ at once. And they all aggro all at once. And there's Silkwings to back them up. So yeah, stop complaining. I got rocked so hard, I'm physically sore.

*sob* You're so bad at balancing games, OOO.

Greavers were actually buffed

Greavers were actually buffed as they are now elite class monsters. What you experienced was the end challenge of an arena in the lower levels of the Clockworks, one of the toughest areas of the game.

It's also worth pointing out that arenas are not designed to be fully completed by every player. Each of the first two battle rooms follow with an exit. The second and third battle rooms are optional challenges with the latter designed to be a battle of considerable difficulty.

Oooh, there's an arena with the grievers up? I've been wanting to encounter that, but as of yet have not accidentally found myself going through one.

And by battle of considerable difficulty, you mean literally impossible if you're not a swordsman. Got it. Brilliant. Look, I'm happy that not every single bloomin' arena has Mecha Knights in it anymore but this needs adjustment. At least remove the Silkwings, make them not heal Greavers or make vials not suck. Something. Making Mecha Knights relentless bastards is also okay, if you want to take it in the other direction. You do need balance though.

I did enjoy dealing with Gorgons in the arena. Very difficult to dodge while you're trying to avoid Kats and whatnot and difficult to hit too. They really should just remove auto-aim though, it makes dodgers pointless. Maybe implement it as a battle sprite activatable ability.

:) I feel all warm up inside.

Got a Final Flourish with Fiend Medium UV strap on my Snarby gear and go fight against my favorite difficult monster, the greaver.

nvm. Its actually hard :) But I wouldnt say they all go aggro at once, I was trying to time it but when 6 of them attacked, the rest would wait. :O I see no problem with the Butterfly healing, it was the first thing i always do, go after the healer forget the rest.
But man, im used to fighting 3 greavers at a time, not 10+
It would have been easier with a team. But it was fun.

For bombers, there is no difference between 1 greaver and 10.

You know the HP increase

You know the HP increase really did nothing right guys? I mean, it's probably because I'm a sword freak--but there really is no difference from Greavers before aside from the HP. Now, having a Greaver paired with a Gorgo--that is fun stuff. It's a shame that Gorgos are just Alpha Wolvers(please buff them) though.

May i know what class do you classify Trojan as? Clearly 10+ greavers are no problem for some people here. Can i have 10 Trojans to spawn at the end of the arena instead? Now that will be fun.

1st off that combo of shock Spookats and six Greavers? terrifying. Great job there.

I think what Putkinen and I don't understand is the part in May 1st's patch notes where it says they "will now be less prone to showing up in large swarms."

I can honestly say that I have never encountered two dozen Greavers in an arena (total for all 3 rooms) until after this patch. It's an undead arena for pete's sake. Also the amount of Greavers was not altered at all for the HoI danger mission.

The only place I can find less Greavers is on fiend clockwork levels where the area with purple crystal blocks now no longer seems to spawn a greaver wave at all.

I'm fine with adding them to the list of elite monsters and all that entails. I just think the patch notes were deceptive and Putkinen and I have every right to call shenanigans on you for fooling us into believing there would be less of them.

*raises hand* Is it possible for the Devs to create a special arena for the Davids who have a pair that clank and/or those who put to much mercury in their tea where there's one or several types of Giant per wave (Dreadnaughts and Trojans, or just Lichen Colonies), culminating in a clash involving 10+ giants?

Worth a few lulz, at least.

it is already possible.

go to the ice queen palace, in that room of infinite spawining lichens. wait a bit. possibly die. you will have 4-5 gigant lichen colony at hand. won't shower loot though.

I meant as something accessible to any David brave/stupid/insane/suicidal/murderous enough to try it, without having to get through a wall. Perhaps as a Danger Mission, or part of one?
