Hi... Sweroy here!
I have played for 1 hour in total and I'm an apprentice. I have a question. I was reading the wiki and I couldn't understand what alchemy paths were. So I was really confused. Do you have to get the first alchemy weapon and then upgrade that weapon to the second alchemy weapon (and so on) or can you just get what ever you want as long as you have the right amount of materials for that weapon? Please reply! Thank you!

Please search me up too

Well you have choices

Take the brandish alchemy path for example. You can upgrade to a nightblade, cautery sword, fireburst, iceburst, or shockburst (all 3 star verions).

Now if you go to the alchemy path section of the link posted above you will notice that there are no 4 or 5 star versions of the cautery sword. If you were to craft a nighblade however, then you cannot change your nightblade into a fireburst brandish because you have "locked" your decision to craft it into an Acheron.

So it is a good idea to plan for your 5 star set beforehand rather than to get stuck with a weapon you do not want in the longrun.

So in short you would have to craft the first alchemy weapon all over again and then craft that into a "path" that you want. Or you can just buy 5 stars (although be prepared for the high crown price. For 5's with UV's it will be even more expensive.)

right

Adding to what Blade-Of-Grass has said:

* Read the wiki page Crafting to learn more about crafting from scratch and upgrading.

* Consider buying 2- and 3-star items pre-made by other players. Buying them is often cheaper than crafting them yourself. Don't buy 4- or 5-star items from other players, as they are outrageously expensive, due to the unbinding costs.
