Well I am in love with any fire themed item in SK :D

So I was looking at Vog cubs on the wiki when i stumbled on this: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Vog
For those of you not bothered to go on it, here is what it says:
~The great fire beast Vog isn't a wolver himself, but a fiery deity of sorts who embraces some creatures and grants them a bit of power. Vog's 'cubs' are more or less acquired and forced to spread his fiery love across the world.[1]
Vog's Cubs have been hunted to extinction for their coats.~

So from this I am confused as to what a 'Vog' is, since what i used to think they were was a firey wolver...
But now it is a creature that grants power? So the rare vog cub monster that was taken off SK isn't the same thing as Vog, they are his minions? Is Fang Of Vog related to this? Is a Vog a monster in-game?

Can someone explain this to me please, as i am eager/curious to know what this means?! (o.o)

P.S I didnt know what section of the forum to put this in >.<

That article you found kinda refers to what happened to Vanaduke. He was transformed by "a fiery spirit".

Some players speculate that there's a god called Vog and he randomly transforms wolvers into his "cubs" just like he did to Vana.

So a Vog is NOT a vog cub...

So Fang Of Vog is a tooth from vanaduke?

I also want to ask there are these alpha ash tails that sometimes have some sort of fire spikes on their back; why is that?

Well, if there's a "cub", there must be a bigger and more powerful "daddy".
Cub can be interpreted as puppy or child.

I honestly don't know what OOO was thinking when they included that in the boss token rewards. It could possibly be a hint that Vanaduke and Vog are linked, but who knows. Either way, I think it would make a whole lot more sense to reskin it as Vanaduke's mace, which would be both canon and more logical considering maces are generally heavy weapons, which would account for the slower attack speed.

As for the Ash Tail spike thing, it may just be a way to quickly tell if you're facing a regular wolver or alpha, decoration, or more likely hackles to give it more of a wild, dangerous appearance.

There is no daddy Vog cub, at least the lore doesn't point to one existing. Vog is a deity of fire that chooses to possess, or gift, wolvers with a portion of his power. Vog, being the cool guy that he is, only likes possessing wolvers, though he could have corrupted Vanaduke as well. If Vog does have a physical form, we have never seen it, or only very people have. We've only seen the wolvers he's possessed, and that's where Vog cub armor comes from. The fang of Vog may allude a tooth of a particularly powerful wolver he's possessed, or it could in fact be from Vog himself, in which case, I have absolutely no idea how Brinks got a hold of it.

As for the different Alphas, that's just an indicator of tier. The one with grey fur and glowing eyes is tier 2, while the one with the burning designs and spikes is tier 3.

De-Killer, you know this is just a player thing, right? All we KNOW about Vog is that he had kids that looked like wolvers and he also had a big fire tooth. That's all we know for certain. The rest is player speculation. Personally, I think of Vog as a fire deity, imprisoned in the core, who made Vanaduke simply for fire power (no pun intended.)

There's a bit of controversy as to what Vog actually is, since his wiki page says he's a deity yet the FoV's description says he's simply a fire beast. I like deity better.

Vog Cubs are alpha wolvers who either served or were possessed by Vog, but they are in no way biologically related. I think

Has anyone considered Vog used to inhabit Cradle, but was seemingly defeated by something (possibly, the Swarm?) leaving nothing behind but a random fang; which Spiral Knights turned into a sword.

Heck, open the core, and the next boss is a Swam-infested Vog... okay, yeah; I dunno about that idea.

Vog Cubs

As for the Vog cubs themselves, it is widely believed and accepted that they've been hunted into extinction for their pelts to make armor. Whether this means that Vog was defeated as Rogue-Wolf suggested, or that he simply doesn't possess them anymore, is speculation.

As always, I go for the more extreme ideas (or most times). I think Vog was a fire god who fought against the holy Owlite Wizards. Knowing he wound be locked in the core of a prison world, he made many different weapons: Vanaduke, a Cradlian given power by Vog, The Snarbolax, a half wolver half god, and a fiendish army, still awaiting the commands of the king of the ever frozen abyss. This name was given to him, Ironically, when he was imprisoned by the Owlite Wizards before (yes, this has happened a couple of times) in an ice star, or a meteor made of a material colder then dry ice. When he was imprisoned this time, he waited till the Owlites died out, finally returning after the Alpha Squad entered the core.... but that is a story for another day...

I don't know. Maybe they should, I think it might be better as is..... there should ALWAYS be one last mystery.

@Hex I don't know about everyone else, I just like everything to be connected. I personally thought my idea about the Ice Star was pretty Brilliant.....
