I mean only Grim spark trinkets, Primal Spark Trinkets, and forge spark trinkets
not sure about the coliseum, but it is a way to get money without using mist or CE

IF you have dusker coat and helm, great defender, a 3* brandish and a sealed, you can do well in LD actually, thus u can earn money by winning and selling enamorocks from sullivan. Either that or BN

This doesn't quite address your question, but it's worth mentioning anyway...
Once you reach the middle of the game --- roughly, the Sovereign Slime mission --- you can use your mist energy to play the Clockworks, earn crowns, and buy more crystal energy than the mist energy that you just spent. That is, you enter a positive feedback loop, where you are earning energy faster than you spend energy. As you continue progressing through the game, the positive feedback loop just gets more and more rewarding.
I don't know whether you're at Sovereign Slime yet, but if you aren't, then have patience. The free playing time is really generous (in my opinion).

If you aren't at Sovereign Slime yet, you can always use the party finder button to find a lobby on the mission, there is always at least one lobby doing it.

You can deposit your minerals at the arcade to get some crowns.

The easier way is to get a group of people (or go by yourself) and go to a random gate on elite and play it until you have enough or you just can't continue, such as not being a higher rank to go to checkpoints like Moorcraft Manor. This does take a while though.

@Midna-Dasher
The thread is old.
If the OP played the arcade, he/she would have likely lost crowns due to the high cost of energy and necessity for that to play the game. Starting at Moorcraft or otherwise playing in the arcade would have also cost the OP a fee.

Sorry to necro again, but do people even buy token trinkets anymore, or not really?
Better to NPC them, if they're worth anything there?

Before PvP was added to the game, defense trinkets (health, damage, and status) were the only trinkets available. When PvP was added, ASI, CTR, and offensive damage trinkets were added. Since then, I have not seen many people use defensive trinkets (except health in PvP).
if you have a lot of tokens, then trade them all for trinkets (the more tokens you need, the better)
a 5 star trinket sells for 10000 cr I think
