[SOLD] Fused Demo Helm UV Shadow Maximum!
Meh. I'd buy it for 3k CE. At least you have a bidder lol.
Gah, screw what i said, 10k
welp my bid stood for 5 mins so i won :)
IGN eeks
sry, it hasnt reached the 7:20 when u post ur bid
changed due to some conflict
10.75k and i'm inworld ign Alarm
WTF? His bid is AFTER 7:20. My bid stood for 5 mins after I bid..
Uhhh that is not how a standing bid rule works. You aren't even following the rules you posted in the OP. Eeks should be the winner of this auction because the auction would have ended at 19:21 according to your rules.
Duration: 05/15/11 7:20pm, Forum Time (PST)
Rule: The highest bid should stand for at least 5 minutes to avoid sniping.
I win no matter how you spin it. Explain to me how I did not win. I bid before the auction ended. My bid stood for 5 minutes. Auction ends at 7:20. He bid at 7:22.
Eeks won. Is it really worth being shady and messing with your credibility to get an additional 250 CE? You set the rules...follow them.
Look, im not after the gap between the bids, i can even give it to him.
My point is, i placed the anti-sniping rule to prevent ppl from posting offers at 19:19
Which means, if a guy posted a bid at 19:19 he'll have to wait for 19:24 to win it.
eek posted his offer at 19:16 but the duration is +5 mins.
What i had in mind before i started this is basically the auction is till 19:25
I'm new to auction and this is my first huge item for sale.
I feel bad that two people are in conflict with this.
No one's going to care what I have to say but I thought when I clicked Save it was within the 5min range--it was, calculated by the forum, 1min off.
I don't set the rules though and I was told I 'won' so I went inworld and purchased CE for it.
So we're in a rock and a hard place except I don't have anyone rooting for me so, the rules say one thing, the judge/jury/executioner said another, and while everyone else gets to weigh in, at least I can add my .02 too because it does suck one way or another for either of us.
I'm sorry you didn't bid in time erasium but rules are rules. If I had bid too late I would concede the auction to the person that actually won. Judge/jury/executioner doesn't mean much unless Amberr doesn't value his reputation. What is the point of having rules if you're not going to abide by them?
Listen I'm not arguing over the forum. I didn't make the rules - but the person who did said I won. If arguing is what it will take to win this auction you win. I am not arguing over a forum. Over and out. :) I'll await the results.

Which puts the end time at 19:21 which is before erasium bid. If you're not after the additional 250CE then follow the rules. I don't understand why there is even a dilemma here. I won and erasium did not.
I understand people feeling uncertain. But that is what rules are for - the literally exist to help you decide potential situations that you want to avoid.
In the interest of fairness you should honor the rules you posted. That was the point of my last post.
Per your rules a bid had to stand for 5 minutes before it was considered "final", and you have an auction end time of 19:20 by forum timestamp. Eeks bid at 19:16, enacting the standing bid rule for 5 minutes via forum timestamp. That means bids should have been valid up to 19:21 by forum timestamp, which did not happen.
Your rule is fine, and fair. It worked in this case, so you should hold to it.
This is resolved :) congratulations, Eeks!
