Alright, for my final weapon lay-out, I need some form of CC/AoE Damage. Here are my choices; Glacius, Shivermist Buster, Nitronome, Irontech Destroyer and Big Angry Bomb. They all look capable of doing decent damage and CC, I'd prefer the one with the most balance. Also party doesn't count, pretend I solo everything.

Choosing from only the above listed weapons, I would take Glacius, Shivermist Buster, Nitronome and then something else entirely since Irontech and BAB are redundant with Shivermist and Nitro.
CC/AoE is covered entirely by your Shivermist, so there's really no need to pursue anything beyond that if that's your goal. Nothing else competes, unless you want to Hail Driver Gun Puppies or spam Divine Avenger or Glacius charge attacks.
Hmmm, yeah I need something that compliments my other weapons which are mostly single target (besides my volt driver), so I can only take one, I was mostly tossing up Between Glacius (with CTR UV)/Shivermist but Nitrome line of bombs look like they can CC effectively whilst putting out more damage, but I'm not sure how much more than a Shivermist.
@Magnus, Divine Avengers are for wussies who can't handle the raw sex appeal of a Combuster.
Nitronome for solo play. Silvermist for groups.
Although I personally use DA charge instead of Nitronome. That way I only use 1 weapon slot for a couple needs instead of 2.
Meh if I was going to get a DA, I'd rather have a Glacius, the long duration freeze would be more handy for CC.
Rather get a shivermist for cc.
Do you actually set stuff on fire with combuster often? I don't. I'd expect glacious to behave simmilarly.
DA at least has spammable knockbacks due to being heavy sword and the charge knocks back a lot too.
The freeze on a Glacius wouldn't be "crowd" control. It'd be the control of just a single unit or two.
I was under the impression you were looking for something that would help you against packs of units, such as those that appear in danger rooms or arenas.
You wouldn't want to eqiup a Glacius and a Combuster at the same time anyway. Their roles collide too much.
Also, knowing your exact setup would help.
Here's mine (using 3 weapon slots because I can; will reconsider when I get a gun):
I dont use [Shivermist] solo anymore, now that I stopped using [CIV] (calibur type charge) in my setup.
I use [Combuster] to normal attack gun puppies, other constructs and 2hit combo undead mostly. Might switch it for a [Strom Driver]. [DA] Just isnt good for puppies in comparison. [DA]+ your [volt driver] would make some sense though.
[Final Flourish] for everything else(mostly gremlin/fiend/beast). Charge is great to snipe enemies (even zombies). Not efficient on Construct/Slime.
[Agni] is great against (non fire) undead, slimes, construct besides gun puppies. Works okay for these long beast stages where you can just run all the way and lay a firetrail. Not efficient on Gremlin.
I might try [Nitro] instead to deal with masses of gremlins (deconstruction zone) and beast/gremlin arenas.
Sadly I don't see nitro deal with zombies(graveyards/poison city) as well (they turn around and walk away all the time).
[Argent] for vanaduke/FSC.
And I stay away from Fiend stages cause I got enough shadowsteel. But when I used to run those, [Shiv] was required to deal with some rooms (solo).
