What happens when we figure out that the Strangers are actually the bad guys, and that Basil was actually behind all of the wrong-doings that were going on in Spiral Knights, and that he was actually just supplying us all so that we could do all the dirty work for him so that he could reach the core himself and obtain supreme power? And then, after all that mess, you figure out that the Gremlins were actually the good guys, and that the only reason they were even against us in the first place was so that they could stop the Strangers from completing their goal, and that the only reason they didn't tell us that the Strangers were against us was because they knew that they wouldn't be able to reason with us?

(Interesting twist on things.)

We need to reach the core. Gremlins won't open it. Strangers have weapons.
Even if they were evil, it's not like we have any other option.....

What if the HQ already knows this and we're using them while they use us?

Twisting your twist into a twisted twist of things.

Nice!

Nice twist, I like thinking about all the options we have here.

But snipes

Nature in its all knowing complexity, can determine good from bad in certain situations. That being said i don't think the snipes would be hanging out with the strangers all the time if they were "inherently evil". Also, how would you explain the town of gremlin outcasts Emberlight?

Not only the bad side can have refugees. Although from what we've seen from OCH and C42, Gremlins don't look like the good side to me. Mad scientists, totalitarian fascism, and the like.

@Klipik: Heil Tinkinzar? I,

@Klipik: Heil Tinkinzar?

I, for one, welcome our new strange overlords. And their snipes.

Well

I wonder what would have happened if instead of meeting the Strangers we would have met the Gremlins first...

Considering they don't speak our language, we probably would have fought them anyway.

Oh, they do speak our language at some moments in time. In the Crimson Order quest, Warmaster Seerus has some dialogue, showing that he can communicate with us, along with Razwog who also talks to us during the tutorial of Spiral Knights, but that is fairly new, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know about it considering I didn't know about it until a couple days ago.

The Spiral Knights in their eyes are the evil space invaders. We crashed on their planet. We've been attacking the native life on Cradle. We want to open their core. Everything in this game except the snipes and strangers and people in the subtowns are trying to kill us. There is probably a pretty good reason why they are too.
