Is the CE price going to drop anytime soon? Currently it is around 7000 CC but I read around the forum that it used to be around 3000 CC, what are the chances of it dropping back to that, or a least lowering to a more reasonable price?

1) Go take a look at the prices right now. They're just over 6.6k per 100 ce, and will likely drop more because of the promo on right now.
2) In the past, ce prices have gone to over 9,000 crowns per 100 ce. 7k is quite tame in comparison.

Maybe, but still too expensive for new players (I just reached tier 2 yesterday) If you are new, I would better if you just spent the money on weapons instead of crystals, in my opition, for such a high, price, It's not worth it.

Ellthan, it is nearly always cheaper to craft a weapon yourself than it is to buy one from another player. The only exceptions are...uh...actually, I don't think there are any.

Except you can craft that using mist only, which is kinda free. Bit hard to get cheaper than that.
But, yes, I can understand pure F2Pers buying their 2*s from the AH. Anything higher than that, though, and only a good UV could make the price worth it.

Easy grinding.
I really hope the price will go down, I read that a lot of players can play indeffinently through grinding the jelly king, but with the current price I don't think it is as easy as described.

I am glad to see someone so eager to help us, the things is a sword (and if you can a shield) for me and a bomb (if you can a gun) for my brother. Also if you could spare one entire set of tier 3 armor would be great (if you can 2 would be even better). We got a laptop so now we always cooperate and defend each other.

7k cr is pretty reasonable, if you think about that, ce has to be bought with real money by someone, so you can buy it with cr from the market. And the playerbase is pretty small, players buying with real money is even smaller. So, yeah, if we look the at the game from this side, it's actually not free to play, at least not after Tier 2, as someone HAS to pay money to be able to craft 3* gear.

After launch...until OOO doubled energy costs in crafting, and made 4-5* items unbindable. One of the worst updates I've ever seen. 400 CE to 800 CE for a 5*? You have the may update to thank.
This was in 2011 april-early may. No such prices anymore.

@Etendue: I read that 5* recipes used to be over 400k in crowns. Personally given that versus paying 400CE extra... I think I may just go for the latter. Unless I'm wrong, of course, but I joined in Nov '11, so it'd be nice to know what happened before. In short, CE prices were at 6.8-7k when I joined. I'm not complaining.
@OP The current CE prices are considerably "reasonable" for most high-end players (by high-end, I mean have the minimum requirements to do Vanaduke/Firestorm Citadel, be it solo, by friends or otherwise), but I understand the pain you have to go through when I started another character... Truth be told I salute all you newcomers who have the patience to grind. I personally would have quit back then.
And if you think 7k is not reasonable enough... then like people have said it was crazy sky high at certain points.

Erm, the only time prices are 45k are nowadays, due to the fact that there are not many recipes being sold on the auction house anymore.
Back in the days before Hall of Heroes, the highest you ever saw 5 star recipes going for was 33k.

Prices of CE are higher, noob hate is stronger and more prevalent, there's almost no one to help in clockworks and missions (especially the low level ones noobs have to do), you can't sell low level items on the AH for any kind of profit, everywhere you turn you find another crn sink and realize you have no way of earning any crowns, guilds don't want you, you can't ever earn enough crns to start your own guild or buy ce on the ah (not at the 10 LOW levels of grind per day (there's too many crn sinks because EVERYONE is a super rich knight)...
Being a noob sucks here. I started a new character and played as a noob. My friends and guildies didn't know it was me. I even had the luxury of being able to put my noob in my guild to help it make friends. I quit in less than 2 weeks.

I don't know what price they were during the preview event. I'm simply stating how much they were before Hall of Heroes. Since a lot of people were doing recipe runs, recipes were fairly cheap and easily obtainable, most 5 star recipes sold on the auction house for 28-31k. This is including all boss recipes.

Personally, I feel like it's sort of a vicious cycle. Veterans refuse/have no interest in helping newcomers (talking about the whole playerbase as an average, I know some really help) most times, newcomers in return start the infamous "begging" among other things, more veterans get annoyed by that and... Yeah, my point basically. Aside from this issue, it takes super long to even grind enough money for 100CE in the starting days, and what with levels before reaching Haven costing 10energy instead of 5 per level to help newcomers... Meh...
