Can anyone else confirm that fire damage has now been about halved (or fire defense effectiveness has been increased)
Stealth Patch?
Firstly, Firo Driver is dumb and buggy. And this is about receiving fire, not delivering it.
Secondly, poison doesn't affect fire nor freeze damage, whether the status inflicter or reciever is poisoned.
Thirdly, this was in FSC, no poison or fire inflicting weapons, with 10 points of fire resist. I take only 1 pip of damage for 2 or 3 ticks. I used to take double that.
I have no clue about what it is then.
And you should test this yourself:
> Get set alight by a monster
> Poison the monster that set you alight
> You now take less damage
Note I tested this with DVS (so strong poison) but it did reduce damage.
No need to be rude about the firo driver, you simply mentioned fire damage, and that implies weapon ticks too.
Still looks the same for me, really. No drop in damage from monster setting me on fire or running over a fire trap.
Why do you think it was halved?
Larry brought it up that fire damage seemed far more deadly last year, and I did a Firestorm Citadel run just recently and noticed the difference (note that I haven't played in a couple weeks, so it could have happened anytime during then) since the last time I played.
Fire damage was tweaked around when C42 came out if I remember right, it was in the patch notes there. For better or for worse.
C42 patch was supposed to only tweak the fire from oil patchs.
You by any chance setting things alight with a firo driver (fire ticks are broken).
Did you poison the monster that set you alight?
