edit, crud; i posted this at the wrong place.

Ok, ever since new update, I've been having MASSIVE lag issues, on top of my already lag issues.

A few things have to be taken into account to make this topic more relevant.

1. i formatted my computer the day the update came out, so i had a clean spiral knights install from the update, this means that my oldschool spiral knights install where monsters weaknesses didn't show has now been replaced by one that shows it (something that angered me on it's own as like the rest of the HUD hikes, ESPECIALLY THE ANNOYING PNG'S GAAAH it's useless and hated but that's just me)

2. i know for a fact that my computer is back to being incredibly fast (I had probably the most annoying of viruses beforehand, made my entire computer freeze and was undetectable, probably got it from that website with a weird sql error and a frame etc... i'm ranting, i'll stop)

3. I've compared this with games that require around the same as spiral knights, in high resolutions and the lag skip is not even nearly as pronounced.

so what is my problem exactly?

The new update seems to somehow limit my fps at either 30 or 60 (so fraps says) and it's never really in between, that would be an indication that perhaps the game was more stable now? wrong.

the second i record with fraps, (i use no sound recording, half sized videos the exact same options as before on the same version of fraps which i know works fine, i tested it with other games) my fps drops to 8-11, even in small arcade levels, i mean what the heck? It's almost like the game is trying to prevent me from recording anything, i used to be able to record fine, i have videos to prove it; my pc hasn't magically changed, my hard drive isn't broken as the writing speeds are normal and as i said, i just formatted this baby a few days ago, if anything this pc is running like a charm.

is there any way to fix it? here are my stats
CPU amd athlon II x 4 635 processor | 2.9ghz
4gb of ram
sound card, even if i don't use it for recording. realtek high definition audio
graphics card - amd HD4200 chipset, it ran spiral knights without an issue before.

now for my game stats
1280 x 720 (the hud made me change that as it was out of the way at 1600x900)
anti-aliasing 1x, changed it to 2x still the same lag skip
culled transients
vertical sync on

it's such a drastic change from before the update, I assume that the new update has made my game incredibly slow, which would make sense as since those new images for everything game out, i feel like I'm looking at a cheap wow copy that lags my computer into oblivion (again just me)

any way to fix this?

This game isn't very friendly with multi-core processors. Try any way to bridge it?

Turn off Vsync. The latest

Turn off Vsync.

The latest update increased my average fps (in busy havens my FPS went up from 30 to 45, and in dungeons my FPS went up from 80, in intense combat, to 120), so I don't really know what you're talking about.

Greetings,

On top of the correct Vsync advice to break the 30/60 lock, have you made sure that you installed the same graphics driver and any network device drivers from your previous OS install? Sometimes after a fresh format you can still be ruining on the default drivers provided by Microsoft. While good enough for casual use they do not always provide acceptable performance for gaming scenarios.

i removed vsync and put it

i removed vsync and put it back when it didn't change anything, my pc isn't THAT awful, to repeat that i used to get at least double to tripple the gaming power before, as for my drivers, i run HP drivers as my pc is a hewlett packard factory pc, i put it back to factory settings, anyways;heres what i did up to now

- installed latest ati hd 4200 drivers, lag is less explosive, at least it's somewhat more stable but it's still way lower than I'm used to.
http://i.imgur.com/sztssdk.jpg heres a screenshot, as you see, spiral knights isn't using THAT much of my resources, and it's using most of them.
i usually always get 4 bars, then again my net has been somewhat sketchy these days where in webcam calls i seem to lag but heres the speedtest i just took with a skype call and spiral knights running

I will now search for errors in my hard drives, i don't know if that could be it, i really don't think it would be that as other games run fine.

i will also make a virus scan just in case, with a few different scanners, any help is appreciated
