First some introduction is probably in order.

Hello every one. I'm new to the forums, but not necessarily to the game. Me and my friend are strictly F2P and have defeated Vana and even Seerus (bought CE and traded for the expansion). I took a break a while ago from SK because my computer sucked and I was getting bored, but now I have a nice computer and I'm enjoying having an actual fps in this game. I'm planning on playing until I get the last achievement (miner one) and until I try defeating the shadow lairs (may take time :p ) and I made an account here mostly so I could post some stuff on the bazaar, but things aren't going so swimmingly.

I have this Heavy Side Blade I got from a Lockbox I found during exploration and a Stun High Spiral Demo Helm that I just got lucky with when crafting. The thing is these items are not super top tier buys for most people (Prismatic Wings/Storm items/Max UV's) so I'm getting the feeling all the people on the forums who are still playing Spiral Knights after all this time are only looking for the best items imaginable. So here's what I need an opinion on: should I continue trying to find offers on the bazaar (so far I haven't gotten any offers, but to be fair it's only been 2 days) or should I just test my luck with the AH with a 1cr starting bid auction on both items (not sure if I should set a Buy Now since I don't know what the items are worth).I've also been trying to advertise in the trade chat with no results. Any criticism on my other 2 threads would also be appreciated.

TL;DR
1. Are any of the players in the bazaar willing to buy things that are less than perfect (average accessories or High UV's)?
2. I'm looking for an opinion on my 2 threads. I just want to know if there is anything crucial I am missing that is turning people off.
3. If any one knows the price range for a stun high demo helm (2*) and a heavy side blade I'd appreciate that. I couldn't find any demo helms that matched mine when I looked for price-checks and the posts I found of heavy side blades are very old.
4. How long should I wait when trying to sell something before resorting to the AH?

PS I hope I posted this in the right topic, I'm not new to the game so I don't think this should be in the new recruits forum.

Hmmmm....

I recommend putting the Side Blade up for whatever the other side blades are at the AH.

For the Demo Helm, I don't really know about that one. Look for other demo helms on the AH with High/max status resit uvs.

Also you could try spamming trade requests to people in haven.

But whatever you do, DON'T EVER SELL AND UNBOUND ITEM TO A VENDOR!!!

Wolver gear is more sought after than demo gear, but there will still be someone that wants a stun high demo somewhere.
As for the side blade, they're not as popular nor as valuable as parrying blades, but if you're patient enough you'll find a buyer.
If you want the money fast take a risk with the auction house, otherwise just post them in the bazaar and wait.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I'll be more patient and wait for some similar helms to pop up on the AH and then make a decision. Don't worry, I won't let those scumbag vendors rip me off :)

Yes, it's pretty obvious for people who play for a decent amount of time the popularity of swordsmen. I think I chose making bomber gear because I lacked monster bones (and I had tons of jelly materials), but it may be worth it to just find some in the CLlockworks or to just buy some from the AH (I'll need a nice Ash Tail set for my Snarby gear eventually anyway). I didn't know that about the side blades so thanks for the tip, I'm just glad I didn't get a maid headband out of my first lockbox opening ^^

Here goes.:

What you might have noticed is the huge pricing gap between High and VH Uv's.
It goes from around 9kce to 20+kce. There is a sizeable portion of players that are content with High UVs
because the small difference from High to Vh isn't worth it to them.

However: Stun high isn't necessarily the UV all bombers want. There are more sought after UVs, but as troupe said:
someone will want it, just don't expect too much.

Accessories are always in demand so you should be able to sell the side blade.
Try the trade channel before you put it up on AH, as it's worth trying.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to stay away from the AH for the time being.
I'm glad to know that high's are still sought after by some buyers. After doing some research earlier I learned that some demo's would like stun resist for PvP mostly when trying to make an end-game Mercurial Demo Set so they can have stun and shock resists, a bomber's worst nightmares, but even there it isn't that common (most people use FF/BTB instead of Fearless Rigadoon, Callahan isn't as popular as antigua lines, Voltaic Tempest is generally preferred and easier to craft than Stagger Storm). I'm sure it'll find a buyer at some point.

Currently I am:
-Writing down the prices for Med/High/Max! status resist Demo Helms and Side Blades on the AH.
-Monitoring my threads in the Bazaar.
-Switching over to crafting Wolver Caps/Coats with my alt (after playing for so long it should've been obvious to start with these instead of Demo armor, also since the Chaos set got buffed the Magic set is worth a lot, however I'm not interested in making any yolo armor atm and I could use an Ash Tail set for crafting Snarby gear)

I nabbed a High Stun Demo Helm a while back, I don't recall it being over 30k, if even that. I got it to make Volcanic Demo Helm so I could wear it with Volcanic Plate Mail so I could do vana, but I doubt other people aim for stun as their desired bomber status resist, due to the lack of it.

Although I'd love to delude myself into thinking this helm will make me rich, all the research I've done up to this point has suggested the same price range as yours (which considering I made this for like 400cr and 50 mist is still a pretty nice financial boost). I bought a demo helm stun

I bought a demo helm stun high in AH a few weeks ago for 10k cr, and my friend got another one (same uv) for the same exact price a few days ago.
If it was stun max, i'd give my soul for it :)

Hmm, interesting. I'd probably not want to sell it for that low if I had the chance. Oh I hope it's just a case of you two getting a bargain. Thanks for the input. I'm trying to cell it for 30k cr right now. But after hearing this I'll try to be a little more realistic if a buyer should pop-up. Also if I ever get that stun max I know who to call. Anyone know the exchange rate for souls to crowns? Might have to ask the Konjuring Kat xD

I forgot about those. You have to carefully handle those flame souls or else they'll fall apart into soul dust and their value will plummet even further Q_Q
I'd prefer to handle business affairs in crowns if I can help it, less messy that way :p

Well, I made my first sale on the forums

I sold the Heavy Side Blade to a nice fellow for 25,000 cr. Obviously if I were a bit more patient or experienced I could have got a bit more for it. But I'd say:
cost of opening my lockbox (found it) = 44,000 cr
Selling price = 25,000 cr
Net loss = 19,000 cr
I'd say 19,000 cr is a fair price to pay to:
-get experience from my first sale on the forums
-open my first lockbox
-learn some forum posting skills
-meet some nice people

It sure spiced up the past couple of days of crown grinding and I still have the demo helm to make up for the deficit when I finally sell it ^^

Fairly sure Side Blades are worth as much as Glasses, the cut-even drop for Lockboxes...

But what's done is done. At least you know now that opening lockboxes is a silly business.
