I was doing OCH, when at the end of the first level, i invited some of my guildies. We all stepped on to the elevator. I then got kicked out by your servers, with three ping bars the entire run. I tried to log back on, but this (first few lines of post 10) happened, so I couldn't go back to the game without closing SK. Since I closed SK, I could not claim the WRH or the DR.

I understand nothing can be done in a flash, but this is quite a serious problem. I am not the only one that complained about this. Try asking the knights who fill an entire essay saying nothing but "lag" or "OOO please fix it". I always check my internet cables, and they never not work.

How in the world you get that name?
Also, welcome to SK.

Thank you.

I'm finally welcomed after being active in SK for more than a year.

The only reason I still play this game is because Steam games can be bought with CE.

just so you know

Just so you know, there's no way anyone but you can see this JPEG file at file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Steam/userdata/87038666/760/remote/99900/screenshots/2013-05-27_00001.jpg. That URL is local to your computer.

Also, I've never heard of people getting removed from a party unless (A) they were disconnected for several minutes, (B) the party leader removed them, or (C) they accidentally left the party due to user error.

Either a steam bug or steam

Either a steam bug or steam did something wrong to DC you. Did your guildmates use steam? Ask them. If they didn't, then it's your steam. Steam tends to give problems, that's what I heard. That's why I will never get steam.

And yes, I know that you use steam because of the link/file you provided.

lol, it's another of these "I'm lagging so I'm blaming it on the end server, and not on the hundreds of internode connections and possibly faulty circuitry between my monitor and the server like I should be" threads.

Wow, that's a comic gem.

I'm almost tempted to troll some one just so I can do that.

it was weird

I was one of the two guildies that joined him. The three of us got on the elevator, and only two of us got off, but usevn was still showing as being part of our party despite that he was clearly not there. After about 5 minutes, all his pills and stuff appear next to me out of the air, which indicated that the game finally registered his "condition".

Strange stuff, but not the first time I' ve seen it happen.

@Bopp/others who notice that link

What happened was that I got kicked from the party but the heat sidebar was still on the screen. I couldn't click "log in" because the cursor wouldn't turn into a hand.

@Hexzyle
Your "wife" is correct. I am not the only one who has this problem.

@Benightz
My wireless never disconnects or fails. This is a server error, not a PICNIC error. Tell that to Autofire if you can.

@Dragon Princess
Thanks for the extra view.

Someone actually tried to link to a file stored on their computer?

Use something like imgur from now on to host images, unless you have your own website.

Hexzyle's point is that your personal Internet connection may be fine, and Three Rings' servers may be fine, but there are many possible points of failure between the two. It's just the nature of how packets get routed through the Internet. So, while there may be a problem with Three Rings' servers or software, you have not yet convinced me. If Three Rings does have a problem, it seems to me a minor problem, not a "major" problem.

It's unfortunate that you got removed from a mission. But look at the bright side. You got removed after only one level, so you didn't waste much time and energy. You'll probably play the mission many times, so it's not as if you've missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Cheers.

I can't see your screenshot, upload it to an image hosting site.
It honestly depends what you're talking about. There's the log outs without warning, those are often due to a packet mismatch. In my MORPG I got this a lot since I was using a rather lousy internet connection: (and 39dll, which is a terrible networking plugin, it's pretty useless when it comes to waiting for packets) the information of one packet becomes the header of another packet, often sending scrambled and strange data, the most common of which was the server reading the client's packets as if the client wanted to log off, so the server disconnected the client.
I get this a lot due to my connection not always being amazingly stable.

There is one instance where I suspect the client/server programming may be at fault, and that is the corrupted instance disconnection. What happens is you disconnect either in some odd place where the server doesn't store data for, or maybe a packet gets messed up on its way to the server, or there's some other incompatibility between the client and the server, but when you try to log in next, your client freezes up. To other people, it appears that you've reconnected, but your client just shows a frozen image of the login screen with your currently logged in knight's name on the title bar. This is most likely due to the server sending the client data that it cannot handle or compile, or some other loop error in regards to loading the instance. I've encountered this error about 4 times in my experience with shoddy internet. Whenever this happens you just have to close the client and wait for the server to log you out due to inactivity.

I haven't been forced to be inactive. It's just the server kicking me out because of 1) Steam bugs, 2) internet disconnection or 3) server reboot. 2 and 3 did not happen, but I know the problem is not Steamguard, and I'm pretty sure it's installed correctly.

@Grantgalitz
I'll try it again.

@Bopp
Okay. So everyone that logs into SK will disconnect from the servers in a matter of seconds. Does this sound like a minor problem if this happened?

my 2 cents

@ Usevnsevnsixfivfor

It is probably a problem on your end

The fact that the servers are running with thousands of people playing should be a hint that the server works correctly.

Where do you live?

How do you play? (fullscreen? high quality?)

Did something new happened in your Network (new console?, new router? new pc?)

Do you only get kicked when you step on elevator? If yes then the server cannot find you in the game and automatically kick you out as you would disconnect, according to him. If not then your internet connection is doing free-games, check your router if you are wireless or reset your modem/router if you are wired.

Don't instantly assume OOO is the problem as most MMORPG doesn't have server but client-related problem.

Steam doesn't do this, it never happened to me. The only time I get kicked is because I'm loosing my connection.

What is your connection speed?

If you take your PC and play on someone else connections (get to McDonald for free wireless), does it happens too?

If you take another one PC and play on your connection, does it happens too?

There are multiple things you can do before flinging poop at your screen. And all I've said is basic IT knowledege.

It's just the server kicking me out because of 1) Steam bugs, 2) internet disconnection or 3) server reboot. 2 and 3 did not happen, but I know the problem is not Steamguard, and I'm pretty sure it's installed correctly.

The only reason a server would drop you from any games are:

Maintenance (reboot)
You could not respond to server quickly enough (dropped off/delayed)
The server could not see you (disconnection)

"steam bug" is actually the 3rd reason, the server could not see Steam user properly and avoid them from entering since they are unknown registered users and it's to prevent hacking.

@Shamanala

I live in the U.S., using the U.S. servers.

I use full screen with low quality. All the time.

Nothing new is coming, really.

I didn't do this on OP, but I begin to wonder if the Steam Guard could be the issue.

Same here. But very few times the reason I'm kicked is because the Steam ID is invalid, which makes little sense to me.

Three pings, all the time, but I can't see the exact FPS.

I only use this computer. I actually don't plan to use another computer.

Only one computer.

There was no maintenance, but sometimes the servers don't respond to me (Okay... Knight A is standing still. Knight B moves. When the servers ignore/kick me, Knight A stands still but Knight B keeps moving in [one direction]. I can only move, shield, and do non-projectile charges. I can't type or attack or take damage until I am finally kicked or until the servers unignore me, but when that happens, a ton of my health goes down or I die, usually in an unpredictable spot.).

So, I am not sure now. /confused to confusion

@those who moved the thread

You can post your question on New Recruits (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/forum/2).
Oh, and thanks for reminding me! I play on 1280x800 on fullscreen.
