we pretty much know OOO won't implement any form of voice chat. so basically, this idea to have a list of pre-made quick phrases or responses to reduce the time it takes to type the whole thing out normally

yes there is the fact that people will spam this so make them have a 3-5 second delay between each usage

so like some would be

1. Mineral deposits here.
2. I have the key.
3. I'm under attack need help!
4. Please revive me!
5. Let's do this!
6. I'm not leaving without my totem buddy!!

If you have a keyboard with a

If you have a keyboard with a Numpad try mashing the the buttons. You'll find that a few useful phrases are already linked to them. You can even change the keybinds is you want.

Flexible Chat Macros

I think a useful feature along these lines would be to be able to set your own chat macros, so that you are not confined to "Attack" "Fall Back" and the few others they offer. I would love to be able to just hit a key and say "afk for one moment, please wait", "this way" or many of the above phrases. The point would be that you could set your own.

This suggestion is useful for

This suggestion is useful for tactical purposes, but if your goal is to use chat to socialize it would be of no value. What other solution is there but a microphone if you want to talk to the other players in your PUG without having to stop moving every five minutes to pound out a quick response?

@SirNiko

i said it once, i said it twice, and i think i will have to say it a million more time voice chat is too impracticable for OOO to implement. The cost of maintaining the service plus all the those that either have their volumes muted/no mic vastly outweighs every benefit you have said
