So an idea that i had is that there should be a new expansion pack that focuses on Skylark before it crashes.

Possible plot: (Note: you will not be playing as yourself to make it realistic) You are called upon the Spiral Order to investigate a possible bomb plot that could potentially destroy the entire ship and kill hundreds of thousands of the new knights that had just joined the Spiral Order. You and 10 other veteran knights (3 of them could be your party but if you are going solo they would be NPCs) had been specifically chosen by the leaders of the Spiral Order to stop this from happening and to do this as quickly as possible to stop this problem to escalate, so you have been specifically ordered to not tell anyone about it. At the end, the plan fails after being so close and 3 of the 4 engines of the Skylark explode, while the Skylark is falling down space and heading towards Cradle, you run to the escape pods and on the path you see lots of knights running in different directions and as you get closer to your personal escape pod, you see a crippled knight that is crawling to a escape pod but there wouldn't be any left for him and this catches your eye, so you do the good thing and take him to your escape pod and you give him your veteran crest and you realise that he is wearing your starter gear.

Armour and equipment available:
Azure Guardian Armor/Helm
Aegis
A new sword
A new sword
A new gun
A new bomb
(Note: You can choose between the swords, gun and bomb but if you have extra sword slots, you can use them all also you can choose 1 weapon from your arsenal if you want to)

Special payout:
2 new swords (star level depending on your clockworks tier)
A new gun (star level depending on your clockworks tier)
A new bomb (star level depending on your clockworks tier)
A new crest

I'm sure that lots of you are willing to pay a lot for an expansion pack like this so the hard work for the developers will pay off.

Buuuuuuuuuuut...

That's not what happened. Nowhere in the lore does it say Skylark's engines exploded.

Malfunction. Sylark crash. Explodes.

This expansion pack sounds to me like time travel, but grandfather paradox here. If you succeed, skylark doesn't crash, no one will be in haven, thus this game would never have existed. You fail, you shouldn't be rewarded :3.

Well that it a possible plot

Well that it a possible plot that i had come up with that could make this work. You won't be able to stop the engines from exploding. I thought that this would be good because it will give people the expansion pack that they have been waiting for so long and also gives you an in-depth storyline of what actually happened to the Skylark as right now the starting of the game is Skylark crashed, moving on... That to me makes no sense.

erm

the skylark has been pulled to cradle by an unknown force (see the first recon module, should be there). no engine explode. just crash.

As i mentioned before, that

As i mentioned before, that plot line is just one that i had thought of, and i highly doubt that it would actually used as i am sure that the developers could come up something that would link in with the things that had happened in Cradle. But the main point is that this is something that lots of people really want and this could be the greatest thing in Spiral Knights as it will have answers that had always been asked.

Detail Required

Well according the OP, the Skylark got destroyed by bombs. No that doesn't even make sense. Like Thunder-The-Bright says, it was Cradle's fault not people (terrorists?) who planted bombs.

Another problem, what would there be to fight in this mission? You never said anything about any kind of enemies that could be fought. So my guess is that you run around the ship trying to disarm bombs, fail, and then save your character by sacrificing yourself then get free stuff. See the problem there? No challenge whatsoever. Either come up with something to fight (reprogrammed security drones?) or make it like some kind of trap-avoidance mission.

Tip: if you are seriously suggesting story additions/changes, CAREFULLY listen to what the NPCs say during the missions (also read the recon modules). You can learn some facts about the lore from them.

I only mentioned the starting

I only mentioned the starting and the ending. Depth 1 would be the command room. Depth 2 all the people are locked in their rooms for an unknown reason and that's when all the fighting will begin with possibly gremlins or even other knights. I don't really want to go into much detail because it isn't the main part of this idea which is the actual mission and not the plot line i came up with.

The papaya wonders....

Maybe it can be a sort of.....flashback sort of thing.......like your Knight is thinking about what happened before Cradle, on the Skylark......
No, that still won't work would it? >.>

This might sound stupid but

This might sound stupid but how about a advanced recon module that was given to you by the Spiral Order because of a special request from an unknown knight...

Simple solution to anything you'll ever imagine. A simulation chamber, a virtual world (game within a game!)

The HQ developed a new system to train soldiers that puts them into semi-realistic environments, and is capable of simulating the ship by analyzing the data of a computer terminal that survived the crash.
