My friend just got a Sniped Stranger hat and equipped it!!! I was like, "Do you know how much CE/CR you could've got for that!?" And he was like, "Nope, but it looks cool." O.o
If you have a similar story of an epic-fail post it here...

Not too much of a fail, like Klipik said, if he liked it then he could equip it.
I heard that someone sold their Book of Dark Rituals to a vendor (there's a thread for it somewhere...).
My epic fail is losing my account (kimahso) with 150k cr to a hacker (OOO didn't even reply to the support request it's been 2 years now, great customer service :)
Not everyone cares about how much cr they would have gotten. For me, if it is a costume that is worth some major cr, I would get one to wear, and one to sell.
OMG HE GOT SOMETHING FOR A REASON OTHER THAN TO SELL IT WHAT A TERRIBLE PERSON
My epic fail?
Um...let's see...I don't remember...exactly...
I think it was something along the lines of...no...I don't remember! D:
I know I failed sometime or other.
One of my biggest fails was vendoring a Drake Scale Shield. Now I had to make another shield to get Dragon Scale Shield.
So? I would've done the same. Who the heck WOULDN'T want a little poofy bird on their head? Why sell it if you enjoy it?

Buying a great defender recipie after already having said recipie... From the HoH. Luckily OOO helped me there.
When you've only got 3* gear, functionality is more important than cosmetics... He could've been nearly 5* if he would've sold it.
I think everyone has their own choices...
If I got a twilight aura I'd rather use it than sell it, because I think it's pretty.
In that same situation someone who doesn't like its look could sell it for ??? and become rich. And buy all the asi vhighs they want or something, I dunno. Or if they're collectors they'll go make every single piece of gear they can with it. Choices, choices... Not a fail.
My own fail though... Let's just say I bought stuff. And then I couldn't sell stuff.
When I was fighting Arkus, I had just beaten him.
Was thrilled to finally had done so.
However, I was at 5% and was cursed.
I went to get some Minerals, and hit it with a cursed weapon.
I died with not enough energy to revive.
I was annoyed to say the least.
I accidentally equipped a hunter fur coat once.

Although an epic WIN my friend had when he first started playing. I taught him how to craft new gear, and he crafted a brandish into an iceburst brandish. He pretty much forgot about the sword (I helped him through T3 OCH so he got a WRH), so I didn't see it had a UV on it until he sent me a screenshot of something, and had his inventory open. I saw that the brandish had a UV on it, so I asked him what it was. He told me it said, "Charge time reduction: Very High."
He unbound it, sold it, and got enough crowns to make himself a nice set of 5* gear. :)
Having alchemized a Snarbolax Cap & Coat and realizing it has no piercing defense... ;_;

@OP: I was 3* for more than a year, and I equipped/attached/kept many costumes, mats and tokens I could have sold to make my progression faster. Had I the chance to do it over again, would I do the same things? Yes. I do not own a single weapon, armor, or piece of gear I do not want. And I have some pretty obscure, useless stuff. (Dark matter bomb, 2* skelly set, 3* striker, arc razor, haze bomb, prismatech...)
I had a chance to sell my Magic Bombhead when Blast Network first came out. What did I do? Equip it as did all my teammates that got one with me did. (It was guild vs guild BN). Would I do it again or take the possible 500k crowns or more? Yes, I'd equip it again with my friends that were on that team and keep the moment with us.
Well I mean if he liked it, why not?
