Dear Players

Hi all can some one tell me anything about this Energy system ?? I dont feel this game. It should be F2P or P2P ?? I feel this game like WOW i need Pay to Play it is not fair. I run 2 dungeons and my energy drop to 0 and now what ? Unistal or BUY Energy ? I do alot of beta test and i saw 2 more game whit this same system (Valkyrie Online and Divinite Souls) Hmmm VO is a dead game. Why ? Cuz Developers shotdown this game. They dont have many players whitone buy something similar to Energy ... And DS is now on OB test but they have same problems like a VO. In DS you have 300 now increas to 360 "Fatign" point 1 dungeon cost you around 20 points its give you 180 opportunity to enter dungeon. In Spiral Knights you have 100 for free "Yupi" its give you 10 enterance but hey hold on a second you have a bonus area whit cost you around 3 energy per gate :-) yes yes my friend every thing cos you Energy ... In fact this game is full of ENERGY COST ...

FREE to PLAY = Unlimited dungeon enterance, regular items, alchemy, crafting and other stuff ...
PAY to PLAY = Everything cost Energy, Energy cost your money ...

Yes my friends your choice . . . Good Luck in the future . . .

You should pay more attention

You should pay more attention to the in-game "guides". These are the "strangers" spread all over the place.

You have Mist Energy and Crystal Energy.

Mist Energy
* Has a limit of 100
* Restores automatically to 100 at a rate of 100/24h (although how it is created it is less, nick explained they designed the system that "if you start playing around noon and end at say 2pm, the next day at noon you have your full energy back to start playing again")
* Non-tradeable
* 100 ME pool for every knight on a log-in account
* 100 ME pool for every *free* account on a single computer (the 100 ME pool of here and the previous * is the same in case of free accounts)

Crystal Energy
* No limit
* Tradeable, shareable over multiple knights on the same log-in account
* Can be bought with real money, via player to player trades, or via the in-game Energy Market with Crowns (in-game currency)

---

The game is Free 2 Play. The only "limit" this f2p offers is your "free" play-time a day, the amount and tier of alchemy done, and the amount of usable small extra's. (Mecha Knights @ Deconstruction zone, Energy gates)

---

On a personal note:

The CE market seems to be running just perfectly in this Closed Beta. I haven't yet noticed a single shortage of it on the market. That means the game isn't lacking players who buy it with real money so far.

The extra energy costs are *optional*. Only Alchemy is sort of a need in order for you to progress. The first stages though, cost little enough for you to be able to perform alchemy without needing CE. When you do start to need CE, your crown income has increased to a level where you are able to save up enough to buy CE from the market. Here again, I see no problem.

Playing 100% free will give you the same experience as players who buy a little or a lot of CE with real life money. The only difference is the speed at which both types of players will achieve something in this game. It's up to you if you are either patient enough, or willing to spend a little on energy.

I do not think it means what you think it means

IDNKWYAMAANEMTFO

(I do not know what your acronyms mean, and am not especially motivated to find out)

The devs have indicated that they will be re-balancing energy costs at some future date. And while I agree that it is currently much too easy to burn through a reasonable aliquot of paid energy right now, I really don't see where free players can argue for a principle of fairness. In return for a free game that probably costs upwards of $400,000 in salaries and business expenses a year to run.... exactly what are you, the free player, giving them that makes your gameplay so valuable as to make real money charges "unfair"?

EVERY "Free to play" game has a way for you to spend money for stuff.

Here, you can either spend money, or you can trade game coin to other players instead.

This is a system that works; this is a system that eliminates third party coin traders and gold mining companies.

And as pointed out, you gain that "free 100 mist energy" at the rate of about 22 hrs per 100 units.

"Free" does not mean "No cost" in this country. Just look at all the "Free! Just pay shipping and handling", or "Free! Just subscribe to this $20/month service with hidden surcharges". Etc.

Nothing is free, except speech.

It's free to play, you don't need to pay to download it, to log on to the servers, to create a character or play the game.
Unless you count the cost of your computer and internet fees, but you're missing the point if you are.

The game imposes limits on free players to make buying CE more desireable. It's not impossible to play the game for free using the exchange either, but its fairly time consuming to do so if you're not skilled at the game.

I find the energy costs quite unreasonable at this point in time, considering how easy it is to go through on a 'productive' day, but it's a work in progress and hopefully, we will see some change.
