First off, I did a little test to see what is and is not censored by the game's chat filter, now it will be hard for me to list these due to the forum rules of coarse so I will only mention the one(s) that I can :l.
So lets start off with the chat.
TL;DR of chat change: Stop censoring words that aren't actually offensive and possibly curse words or at least make it an option to not have them censored.
First off, get rid of the censor for the word "gay". all you are doing is making a non-offensive word SEEM offensive, and I know this sounds silly but in a way this is being offensive to homosexuals by implying that word in some way is a bad thing. If you are going to make the word Fraggut (you should be able to guess what word that is meant to be) not even be @#%!ed don't let us still say frag as @#$%!.

Second, add an option NOT to have curse words censored, I for one would prefer to be able to read a word for what it is. I understand that kids do play this game but that is why you automatically have it set to censor curse words until you un-check that box in chat options.

Now for the rule clarification/making suggestion

TL;DR of rule suggestion
Add a list of rules that at some point need to be read by a player then prove they know these rules and what they will be punished with for breaking them.

First off, make an actual rule list that players, at some point, must fill out and complete a test for, this could be either to get the ability to buy and sell CE or simply a haven thing. Either way it needs to happen.

Rules I think need to be on this list :
Do not be a jerk to players, its okay to joke around with friends but don't be rude. punishment : temporary chat disable and microphone use disable.
Don't try to get your self stuck some were so a GM has to save you. punishment : temporary ban on first offense, permanent after second time.
Avoid begging for things, its okay to ask but don't out right stand in the middle of haven and spam "GIVE ME CRUWNS PLEZ!!!!!!!!". Punishment :temporary chat disable and microphone disable
Do not spam chat Punishment :Temporary chat disable and microphone disable.
Do not send false player reports. punishment : Disable player report feature and temporary ban.
Try to have fun! Punishment for failing to do so : Sent to the snipe master room of super fun times and parties until fun is acquired.
Don't spam trade, guild, or friend requests. That is rude and childish. punishment : Disable ability to send trade, guild, or friend requests, temporary first offense, permanent second.
Don't advertise any form of hacking program, it is okay to bring up spiral spy and other okay-ed programs in conversations but don't go claiming you have some master cheat. Punishment :temporary mute if false, if a real hack or game cheat permanent mute if not permanent ban.
Do not impersonate any one in a serious manor, this is especially true for admin or developer impersonation. It is fine as a joke, like pretending to be the current president as a joke, but trying to abuse a name to gain leverage over other players is just wrong. Punishment, force change of name and temporary ban. Return of all items that are known of being stolen using the name as leverage to bully players into giving.

Side note, please add either a more in depth "report player" option or a "some thing else" box to it so we can report these kinds of things.

We've all clicked "I've read the terms and conditions" of any software we installed without actually reading it. Even you did a TL;DR version of your own idea.

Let's face it, no one likes to read looong rules and even if you force them to do a test, they'd forget all about it the next day.

I understand that juaces, but

I understand that juaces, but I still feel having a set of rules would at least help the game community for some what, maybe no making it mandatory but at least have it there would help. If a player knows what they should not do they are less likely to do it.

You can turn off the filter in the options :)
Also I'm pretty sure there is a 'something else' box when reporting

No.

99.9% of the time when someone says "gay", they mean it in a derogatory or profane manner. Even when it is used to describe a homosexual, 90% of the time it's said with degrading intent.

If you don't like the fact that words are dropped, don't say those words. Technically, according to the rules, any sort of swearing is a bannable offence. The chat filter is only toggleable so that you know what people are saying to you, if they happen to be putting you down.

Moral of the story? Learn to stop using profanities. Your life will be much better once people learn that your not a foul-mouthed imbocile with such a great lack of vocabulary that you can only resort to five or so 4-letter words to describe your misfortunes.
It's also makes other people laugh when you say replacement cusses, like "bananas", or "flying squids of narnia" instead of swearing.

This can be done if you turn chat filter off. Turn it off so you can see any swear word in the chat. Problem solved.

personally, when I rage I think mixed symbols looks better in chat than swear words. :3
