I want to get a Vog suit as that has fire defense already and with my Fire Max UV attached, I should be almost immune to any fire in Vana. (If I get the vog cap also.) My understanding is that armour has no max, as weapons do (at 6). Helpful advice for a noob. Thx.

There's no cap on armor effects, but you'll experience diminishing effects.

In simple numbers you can understand:

No fire defense at all: you take 100 damage.
Vog regular fire defense: you take 50 (damage cut by half!)
Any other armor without natural fire defense and a max UV: you take 50 damage, just like vog!
Vog with max fire UV combined: you take... 40, not a big difference now... damage won't get cut by half twice.

That UV will make you immune to oil slicks if wearing full vog, but you could have gotten the same effect with a med UV.
A max is kinda overkill there.

Skolver would be a waste of an amazing UV;
Vog isn't recommended due to the reasons Juances posted up there ^
I guess that just leaves the Snarbolax armor! Which I think is a great choice because there aren't any good Normal+Shadow+Fire armors, and you it would give you a sword damage bonus, so YAY!

TL;DR Snarbolax Coat

search for status immunity threads

Try reading some of these threads on status immunity. I'm not an expert in where the benefits end, but I will say that Fang of Vog with lots of CTR and lots of fire protection is pretty nice.

vog cub coat may still be an option

with double max fire resistance already just from the coat alone, its like wearing a full vog set with just one piece. you can then pair it with something else, eg, chaos cowl. with a fire max vog and a no-UV chaos cowl, you'll still get ~50% fire res (considering the chaos' fire med penalty), and you get CTR med and DMG med as well.

you can also get a fire med chaos or a 5* fire trinket to completely offset the chaos' penalty.

however, a costume is required as vog + chaos looks weird.

Thanks for the helpful replies

I went with Vog coat, as i didn't get any responses sooner; that is paired with a snarbolex cap. I would have gone with a snarby coat, but doing Shadow missions is too tough. So far the results are disappointing, overkill, I guess. I have the Snarby cap for shadow defense and dmg bonus; i thought the vog would give me the wanted attack speed increase and more fire defense in Vana runs, but I still burn more than I expected. Conclusion:The max Fire UV is
not worth the cost. If you have any suggestions further, I thank you kindly.

Here's my answer

Getting vog suit will be good because of the huge fire resist but What I suggest is to get either the Skolver or snarbloax suit because of the damage bonus medium and the fire resist of a vog suit.

Therefore-

Vog suit - HUGE fire resist and immune to fire Dmg

Skolver/snarbloax - Dmg bonus med and freeze resist + The fire max UV gives you the fire resist of vog suit.

I recommend Skolver because of the Dmg bonus which is rly helpful in PvP
