The story line is a very awesome story line in spiral knights but the people that play spiral knights usually don't want to read an entire monologue. My suggestion, cut scenes. Imagine when you get to Jelly king you walk in and you see your knight pull his radar out and look on it to see HQ giving the orders of what to do next. Knights are walking along ahead of you but get demolished by the spiked jellies, then suddenly disappear. Scrape lines are found along the walls from alpha squads previous walkthrough. All this right before you hit the button.

You equip your armor and items then head out and suddenly the camera pans around the garden the music gives an ominous glow to the area as if something bad is around. The spiked jellies appear and you must take them out but as you kill them they leave a purple ooze that never leaves instead it stays there. The ooze when you touch it slows you down but doesn't inflict damage instead it acts like the seed from the shadow lairs. Eventually when the camera pans away the ooze disappears. The rest of the areas are normal and there are no cut scenes or knights so you continue onward to get the 2 statues.

As you move forward through the mission you see the knights all on the floor their bodies gone and their armor just there. The armor is covered in purple ooze and the bodies lie on the ground motionless. As you pursue the rest of the mission the bodies start to come back to life as jelly knights that run around like mecha knights hacking and slashing away at you but instead of brandishes or caliburs they have thorn blades that inflict piercing damage and the attacks are more like flourish attacks instead of calibur swings. There movement is slower then knights and their bodies kinda float around giving a skeleton style of moving without the arms outward instead their hands lean downward towards the floor dragging the spines on the ground.

3 Jelly knights appear at the end of the first level and purple ooze falls from the ceiling and the small purple jellies appear.
2 lumbers appear
1 mender appears.

3 tier3 jellies
2 tier 2 bomb jellies
2 tier 2 jellies.

2 swarms of royal jellies
4 linchens
1 lumber
2 menders

After that the gates open but as they do a swarm of small jellies swarm from the ooze areas in the corners they drop nothing but instead pursue you 10 at a time.

Once you hit the second floor HQ calls you up on your HUD and warns you that there is a unknown swarm that is in front of you its known to pursue anything living and to kill anything that is hostile. The gates open and 2 jelly knights appear, you move forward and 2 more jelly knights appear with a lumber; once you get to the 3rd one a guardian jelly knight appears. The helmet is like a trojan but cracked. The chest piece is exposed and oozing but the back side holds a shield. He carries a leviathan blade that he swings slowly like arkus but instead of it being vertical its horizontal. Its charge is a 360 degree attack. The Guardian knight is exceptionally weak and its charge time is slow but it does all normal damage and has long cool downs making it easy to kill if you know how to keep your distance. The 4 areas are unchanged after you hit the switch but once you get to the last arena area there are mostly jelly knights instead of a bunch of linchens untill the end you'd have to fight 2 guardian jelly knights and 1 huge linchen.

Jelly king would have its own indivisual cut scene instead of there being dialog theres a bunch of action taking place the kings crown is at the center and a knight is wearing it. There you challenge a new enemy The "King of jellies" He fights a bit faster then the regular jelly knights and has faster attacks and movements. But once you defeat him he expands into a giant square cube of jelly known as the "Jelly king" This is where the original battle takes place and you must face the hoard of jellies and jelly king himself. Once you beat him who ever beats the enemy at the end determines the cut scenes main character to inflict the final blow. The final blow is also determined by what type of weapon makes the final attack.

Swords would creat a huge slash at the center. The knight grabs the nuclei tosses it in the air and slashes it in half killing the jelly king.

Guns would show the bullets in the center of the king and explode making the nuclei burst thus killing the jelly king

For bombs the player would toss 2 bombs into the king thus being defused so the player jumps in detonating the 3rd bomb by himself exploding in a jelly ooze with your player in the center.

All cut scenes can be ignored if you press a certain button but they must all be watched atleast once also the final attack animation is the only attack animation that cannot be ignored instead all party members will witness the final attack.

+1 or -1 for this idea.

If you want to hear the RT idea please stay intune and please explain what YOU THE PLAYER want in the cut scenes. This is a topic of discussion not a topic of war.

RT's Idea will be uploaded soon.

MAKE ALL THE CUTSCENES!!!

So you mean to tell me that's the the one thing that makes you pee your pants when you play RT? We're talking story cut scenes not minor cut scenes.

Also I'm posting the RT cut scene ideas today and a cut scene idea for snarbie and Vanaduke even though Vanaduke has side convo's I think cut scenes would benefit the game much more then a side conversation with a random NPC.

Uhhhh

The kind of cutscenes you're suggesting here only serve to break up gameplay and don't really enhance the experience in any way. And, you don't provide a solution for the problem you identified - the paragraph-long text bubble cutscene.

Le cut scene objection!

I want you to play assassins creed and say those same exact words. They do improve a game because it gives the game depth and character. If you cant agree to that then you sir have no reason to object an idea that can enhance the games character.

Play CoD and get back to me. That's what these cutscenes would be like - since SK isn't all that good at letting you make choices within a level. It's pretty linear in that sense.

New hope

Even so, Call of Duty has more depth then spiral knights which is an RPG not a FPS like call of duty. Spiral knights is a great game and deserves to be catered with cut scenes not a flat dialog stating what you're suppose to do like were playing a new grounds game. The developers take their time to try to improve it thats why they did so many major updates.

Secondly if its such a bad game why are you on the forums knocking it down? Certainly if you'd want to see a "bad game" become better you'd put in your two senses and start thinking of how to make it a better game just like I am. So if you really think that this game is so dreadful please take your xbox 360 controller or Ps3 controller I really dont care which one you chose and go play call of duty because I'm here to try to put a new viewpoint to benefit this game not to get shot down by one person who is raging going back into the forums just to argue about something that they are obviously failing at.

Thankyou!

Thankyou for proving my point that I'm not the only one who thinks this is a great idea. Now if only a game master would look at this.
