I am trying to find a armor that will help me survive rocket hammers, toothpicks, and keep my normal defense in T2 LD

Drake Scale for hammers and toothpicks, but then you lose the normal defense you wanted.
Magic line for normal and hammers, but then toothpicks poke your eyes out.
Dusker/Jelly/Chroma for toothpicks and normal, but then hammers eat you.
Plate Mail line for epic normal defense and generally being a good doorstop, because everything else will push you out of the way.
There's no specialized armor that's going to keep you alive in every situation. You can't defend against every damage type at the same time unless you cross armors (Normal/Shadow helmet, Piercing/Elemental suit, etc.) In that instance you're cutting those defenses in half anyway, which would make you die quicker in the end.
So... Put on your favorite armor and hope for the best? Survivability in armor is only half of the equation.

Bait hammer swings by juking a fake attack then get your hit in or go ranged and turtle up till you can land status from a alchemer or something.
If you have horrid latency then the awenser is yes, just no.

Also, why is that a negative on the heart trinkets? They are very cheap to make for T2, and if its because people brag about not using them, who cares. I justify the fact that I use both heart trinkets because I next to never go back to heal and wont break away from a 1v1 no matter how much health I have left in most normal conditions.

About heart trinkets...
I dont use them because 1) If you are decent at PvE they are not a necessity 2) I dont have the patience to make a 3* item most if the time so a slot is,the last,thing on my mind and finally 3) "pros" who use heart trinkets are jerks that brag they are so skilled and i rage about it alot and don't want to be a hypocrite.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!
Hi there! I hear you're having problems with defense! There are a few things which I would recommend:
If you aren't going to use heart trinkets, give the defense trinkets a try. You actually get some T2 ones for free from the missions. (But chances are you sold them.)
One good idea might be to get a Plate and then Drake. Plate gives a huge amount of Normal, and almost accounts for two whole pieces of other armor types. The Drake will hand out some Piercing and Elemental, which is also what you're looking for.
However, it would probably be cheaper just to get an Elemental Hood or Cloak because you could tack that onto your Loadout and be done with it.
When I hear Dusker, do you mean to say you are a Sword user? Does the damage increase mean a lot to you? Would you be willing to give it up for defense? (As far as I can tell, damage med doesn't seem to do a whole lot...so personally I prefer defense.)
If you have a huge CE stash/OCH, get the Seerus Mask. It's super good if you are a gunner, as well as gives you decent status resists. The negatives aren't big issues in T2.

To bad I wasnt having a picnic...thank tou for the advice yes I do use a sword use my hansy dandy karmirin along with its little friend the magnus while they may seem bad Im am often told I use them well and think it is fun too. I did sell thedefense trinkets...but I actually got nyaelf,a nice little fractured mask of seerus and it really is great in T2. The 3* would be better but i never see it in the auction nor do I have the usual 50K for it but again ty for the advice.
All you need is full ancient plate
