What would your reaction be if the Battle Sprites had actually been announced as Battle Snipes? Of course they would actually have pictures of snipe-styled characters, perhaps one blowing fire, one with a mask, and one with an aura instead. And possibly they would change colors according to whatever mineral you're carrying (the announcement for the sprites did say something about how you can feed them different minerals to evolve them right? I could be wrong)

A little more questioning for those who need more detail:
Would you have been excited for the integration of these cute creatures? Would you prefer the snipes stand alone in Haven and remain out of gameplay? Would you enjoy having a little snipe lore? Would you despise the concept of bringing snipes down the the rotting metropolis to check for poison gases (making things up here...) Would you love having a snipe follow you around everywhere? Not asking for the nitpicking of the details. Just, what would your reaction be?

Oh, right. My reaction. I'd be definitely interested but I'd think that OOO better do a good job or the snipes in Haven will be forever ruined and I will never be able to visit the snipe sanctuary again. I wouldn't be too worried about the art; the worst art I've seen in SK is the vial redesign and that's the only bad art I've seen. The concept could easily be ruined, however, and possible the entire game, which is what I would be worried about.
