I really feel your pain. Some people are just so immature when it comes to PvP.

I frequently use the Rocket Hammer but I try to refrain from using the third swing as much as possible (using it is how you get yourself killed). Some people will applaud my use of the weapon (after all, it's just another weapon and can be used just as effectively as any other) but many others will simply hate on it. I've been accused of spam, despite only using the first and second swings (even a single hit on someone who was low on health will provoke the response). The majority of these people are asking to get killed by leaving themselves open after a combo. No matter how many times they've killed you, a single kill from you is just unacceptable. Can they not deal with losing?

It's a shame that people are treating you as such but my advice to you is to ignore it as best as you can. Use the ignore function if you find the need to. Most importantly, don't feel forced into changing your loadout just because someone else dislikes. It's a game where anything goes. Maybe one day more people will realise that...

He thought you were a noob because you didn't use normal damage? Only idiots use normal damage swords, with the exception of the sealed sword in T2. (I'll confess to making a CIV, I was young and stupid, though it served its purpose in FSC). Now I'll say that using the hammer takes an awful lot less skill, but it dosen't mean you don't have skill at all. Pros can use easymode weapons, it just means you can't really see the skill they have as easialy. You said you got him with the first hit in sucsession though, so you get my patented orangeo back pat.

The rocker hammer is OP, but that's not the users fault. OOO is the one that should nerf it. Players will instencivley build the strongest characters possible, I'm not going to talk down to someone using the rocket hammer unless they're bragging when they can't use anything else. Not worth it to just QQ about a weapon.

That being said, just because you were on the right side, dosen't nessecairaly mean you did the right things. I'm pretty sure you were talking with a middle schooler, if one of them rages, don't bite back too frequently. For not only your sake, but theirs. If you can get them to ragequit ASAP, that might be a good investment, but otherwise it's better to just get them to simmer down.

As I have said multiple times... the people that accuse you of spamming are just pissed that they can't beat you, so there has to be SOME reason. Either you use AA, spam, have ASI, etc etc ad nauseum. It has to be something YOU are doing... it can't be that they don't know how to counter the strategy.

The hammer is not OP, it does comparable damage to a GF, and a little more than a FF
Hammer: 258, 321 (ignoring the dash as it's only going to hit once, and you can't hit somebody you hit with the first swing)
GF: 234, 363
FF: 203 (nobody uses anything other than the first hit)

Can it be OP? Of course... if you put it in a very capable person's hand, such as Ret's. But the same thing can be said for guns (Ezho), Brandish lines (various), and toothpicks (not even touching this one).

As for using AA on the hammer, the guy claiming you were has never used one in LD Sky. AA on the hammer will just get you killed because it makes you dash right into an enemy's face (leaving you in prime position to get hit) instead of dashing past them.

Ignore him, and play how you like. People that use any weapon outside the "normal" one always get raged at. And you can always use one of my favorite responses; "Yes, yes, I'm a hammer spammer... not at all like how you're spamming your toothpick right?"

Did you get those vs monsters neutral to the weapon? See, my irk with the hammer is that it's yet another pure damage weapon. Against neutral monsters it looks balanced, but things that are weak to it are too weak to it. If I'm in T2 with a barb, a hammer, and a sealed, there's no way an enemy can hope to have any substantial defense against all three weapons. If they use pierce + normal, I can use the pure elemental hammer to land undefended hits, if they use ele + pierce, I can sealed them down, if they use ele + normal, I can poke them to death with ease. To counter my weapon, they have to run all the way back to base to change loadouts, but for me to counter a loadout, I just have to scroll to a new weapon. Large swords to too much damage per hit to get pure damage. Now toothpicks have the same problem IMO, but it's less noticeable due to lower damage per hit and the fact that most people have peircing/few have elemental.

From my experience with TF2 I can confirm Shidara's statement. Keep placing those Mini-Sentries and keep swinging that hammer!

Hammers aren't that bad if you know how to use them AND other weapons. If you use just nothing but a hammer then entire game, and spam it, then it does annoying.
