I'm not sure that this isn't a troll, but okay...
Look at the gate map screenshot in the "Level Rotation" section of the Gate article. I will explain it to you in detail. The player is currently in a construct-themed Clockworks Tunnels level (gray gear icon). If he goes down the elevator right now, then he will find himself in an undead-themed Clockworks Tunnels level (light blue gear icon). If he waits a few minutes and then goes down the elevator, then he will find himself in a beast-themed arena (orange shield icon). If he waits longer than that --- maybe 15 minutes --- before going down the elevator, then he will find himself in a slime-themed Clockworks Tunnels level (magenta gear icon).
Yes, the animation on the elevator's "TV screen" changes. It shows you what kind of level you'd find yourself in, if you went down the elevator right now. The one exception is "?" levels, which you can't predict.
If you are still confused, then you should simply go into the Clockworks, finish a level, and sit next to its elevator for 15 minutes. You will see the animation change every few minutes. While you are waiting, you should examine your Gate Map, which you can find in the menu at the extreme bottom left corner of your screen.
