So this has been happening consistently for the past few months. If I hit keys in game, after about 10-20 key presses (usually in chat, but sometimes otherwise) a key will get stuck as though I'm holding it down, and type itself infinitely until I unplug the keyboard. What's even stranger is this can occur in the steam overlay. I did a quick search of the forums and found nothing pertaining to this, can anybody give me any advice on how to approach this? It's a basic Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600, nothing fancy. Thanks!

I greatly appreciate your comment, Ranmastrix. I have a Logitech g110 and this resolved the issue for me.
By the way, since this is a common java issue, I just blacklisted java.exe without a path so it'll block all instances of it and it resolved it for me.
Thanks again.
Figured it out! It was my Trillian in-game plugin overlay that was causing it to lock up. It seems to be a common issue with java-based games that overlays can create issues. I hope this helps anyone in the future trying to figure this out. In this instance, you can either disable the in-game overlay, or blacklist it in trillian, pointing to this file (changing the appropriate path to where it is on your computer: "D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Spiral Knights\java_vm\bin\java.exe"
