I just got a graviton bomb as a drop and I want to know whether or not I should sell it or keep it, I'm currently playing as a hybrid here is my equipment:

Leviathan Blade
Valiance
Master Blast (level 4 soon to be nirtome)
Warmaster rocket hammer

Perfect mask of Seerus
Azure guardian armor
Aegis

So should I replace a piece of my equipment with the bomb or sell it in the auction house to make some hot flowin cash?

P.S. I'm posting this in general discussion because I can't decide if it should go in the bazar or the arsenal.

Congrats, I've had Graviton Bombs drop before and I sold them for 80,000-100,000cr which is definitely handy if you need an extra burst of wealth.

The Vortex bombs are extremely useful when used correctly with a sword or gun charge attack. Ask yourself if you can see it fitting in with your play style, or if you might want to use it in the future.

The Vortex combined with you Rocket Hammer charge will do a lot of damage. Same for Leviathan but not as handy due to the massive knockback.

It can be handy to use just for its vortex ability alone making it an all round weapon, rather than damage, if you don't fancy playing lots of LD to obtain the Electron Vortex.

Personally I would keep it, as I feel Vortex bombs are extremely useful, and will save you cr, ce and time. If you sell it you'll probably end up wanting a Vortex bomb later on anyway and kind of regret letting it go.

So yeah tl;dr - if you need the extra cash go for it (though cr comes and goes, weapon drops are rare and special)
if you can see it fitting into your play style keep it.

EDIT: I guess this could go in The Arsenal, but not The Bazaar. The Bazaar is primarily used if you're looking to buy or sell something, not if you're asking if you should sell something.

@Rich-Tbiscuit

I have played with a player who had a Graviton Vortex before and I know how useful it is, but I have one question: What bomb is better for a hybrid, nitrome or vortex?

It depends...

Both are good for different reasons, and they're kind of the opposite of each other with the Vortex sucking enemies together and Nitronome knocking them back.

Vortex works best for teamwork I feel, as all party members can concentrate their charges.
Nitronome can be anti-teamwork when used incorrectly due to its high knock-back and bright flashes on the screen.

I would say the Vortex would be best for a hybrid, as it compliments sword and gun charges whilst helping with crowd control. But it all depends on the level you're in, party members and your play style.

Well, usually I...

Usually I charge and try to deal as much damage as possible before I die (I'm kind of suicidal), so I think it would be useful with a team, but instead Nirtome would sustain me more than graviton just because of this: I don't know when to stop and raise my shield, so dogging while spamming nitromes everywhere matches my suicidal nature more, what do you think?

hehe

I like to spam everywhere when I'm dogging too. Hohoho...

I would say aim to have both, so that you can pick and choose depending on the situation, you're already half way to 5* Vortex.

You're play style will undoubtedly change as you improve and learn when to shield. That's part of the fun of the game, learning all the different play styles for each weapon.

Vortex takes more skill to set up due the the large movement speed reduction, long fuse time and careful placing required, but I would say it has a better pay-off.

If you're looking to deal damage with the bomb, go for Nitro, if you're looking for crowd control and to do lots of damage with swords/guns, go for Vortex.

Nothing's set in stone, so play around and see what works for you.

Note that while the Graviton vortex (vortex is far, far better then bomb by the way) may get the job done, the Electron vortex is usually much better because while the Graviton vortex flings enemies away when it ends, the Electron will usually keep them in place with it's shock, plus it's elemental damage which is more useful for FSC/KoA.
However, you may not like to endeavor into Lockdown/Blast network, but if you have the tokens or can get the tokens, I highly recommend getting the EV.

Nitronome vs. Graviton

These two, as Tbiscuit said, are pretty much complete opposites. I'm looking to say something that hasn't been said..
Nitronome really is a very, very safe weapon, while Graviton is a fairly dangerous weapon (very slow movement, it charges as fast as a haze bomb).

If you're just looking to stay alive, then I'd probably go with Nitronome (despite me hating it since I use EV).
Vortex pairs best with a brandish charge.
What it comes down to is being safe vs being fast.
From your previous posts it looks like you're a bit suicidal (lol), so you might want to hang on to the Nitro for now, and maybe as you get better in the game and look for something to speed up your runs substantially, then go for a Vortex.

..puh, 90% of this has already been said.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

I'd agree! You should try it out! I mean, even if you could get a lot of crowns by selling it, it's fun to use! It synergies with Hammers real well, and when in a party Nitros are usually bad. (Like already said) If you don't always go solo, keep the bomb!

If you ever get trinkets, get a boom focus module. It will make both bombs more usable.

I've never managed to sell the one I found. Then again, I've never really tried properly.

This is just a side note, but I have seen way more people both in-game and on the forums that have specifically stated they found a grav-line bomb as a drop than pretty much anything else. Random may be random, but my wife has had two drop (one 3* and one 4*), on top of several friends and guildies who got them from various runs. Weird.

It's because they do more FSC than anything else. Also found there are the fiery vaporizer line, skelly gear, etc.

I'd sell the bomb if it's the 4* one, btw. You can make more than it costs to craft a new one.

Heyers!

@Narfle I has found 2 graviton bomb in the treasure box area @ the end of d28 as well as LoA. I sold my furst for 800ce and the 2nd for 600ce. So 700 ce per is not bad for a 4* bomb.

The reason i sold mine is pretty much becuz my VH slime and high gremlin can kill them with no problem and also have the electron vortex 5* with high fiend!

=) GL WITH YOUR BOMB =)

And also its not worth to sell it on AH becuz no one ever bids for it 030 unless its like REAALY CHEAP!

Your gear is terrible. You don't have ANY weapons that do specialized damage, which is even worse when you have 3 slots, aegis is the WORST 5* piercing shield in the game, and the Azure Guardian Armor is completely outclassed by ANY other piercing armor.

Since when did you have to have specialized damage to be a knight? If you talk to Jorin, he says that just because your weapons don't output fancy damage doesn't mean you can't shake the clockworks.

Honestly, normal weapons are fine. You can use them in any situation and will always help you fight any monster with normal weapons.

So Ellthan, what most of the thread said, get your nitrome bomb.

Dat Nitro.

Yes, get the Nitro if you enjoy obnoxious knockback, screen shake, blindingly-large explosions, and pissing off/injuring teammates. It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys if you don't mind having fun at others' expense. Though, it is quite handy for a little place called the Unknown Passage...

Heater Shield isn't a 5* piercing shield.
