Gun based class(Gunslinger?) - Weapon and General Advice Needed

I've been taking a liking to a gun based Knight, since I like ranged characters. So I have some questions about a gunslinger.

1) To begin with, is it possible to play a Gunslinger with only two weapon slots?

2) I've been checking the wiki and I'm a bit confused as to what I should pick. The Antigua line is looking like a very good line, with the Peacemaker looking as my first 5* and my weapon of choice as a main gun. The secondary gun I'm thinking should be something I could change, with Sentenza as my shadow weapon against Jellys, Callaghan against Beasts and a Polaris for general use.
3) Another thing I'm confused about is what armor would be a good one for an all round use?

4) Any general advice for gunslinger. Who am I supposed to focus? Any boss related information I should know about? What roots a gunslinger in place while firing? What weapons need to be used as a charge attack weapon to be effective? I have auto target off and I'm improving my aim as time goes, but it wouldn't hurt to hear some advice.

5) One last thing. What would give more crowns, repeating a specific mission or doing Arcade runs? Also, are the expansion missions paid DLC, or can they be unlocked via energy and/or crowns?

Thank you in advance.

Edit: Moved to General Discussion, thank you Gravelord for the detailed answer but I want to take the opinions of more than one person.

Take off your mask. Then show us your Smile.

This might need to be in the Arsenal, and I don't have a lot of information to give, but hopefully this helps:

1) Yes.

2) The Antigua line is pretty good - I use the 4* versions of both lines (Which have bonuses against Undead and Gremlins respectively). People will tell you to get Blitz, but that's your choice. Over all, for other types of gun, you might want to consider getting an Alchemer - used in the right hands, they can apparently one-shot foes. I don't have much to say about this, as I'm not an experienced gunslinger but you should consider reading the gunslinger guide in the Wiki if you haven't already.

3) Shadowsun and... Justifier I think it's called? You should grab two pieces of the Gunslinger series (which start at 3*).

4) The first and last bosses are weak against Piercing, the second against shadow, and the third elemental. The Autogun and magnus(?) series root players in place when fired, as do all gun charge attacks. Also, if you use an Antigua series gun, don't use the charge - it's not really worth it.

5) Spam run the boss missions - the give a lot of money and several tokens, which can be traded in for weapons to sell. You'll do this for the Royal Jelly anyway: You'll have to trade in the Jelly Gems (15 or 20) to Brinks in the Bazaar for the Antiguas.

(Insert a sentence here)

1) It is possible to play any playstyle with 2 weapon slots.
2) A wall of text is coming now.

-I would advise against antigua guns - I have one and it feels horribly weak. Antiguas, while giving you good mobility, are rather weak, with a charge attack that will almost always let you get hurt if you use it. Alchemers on the other hand are pretty good. Don't let the 2* version fool you, the more you upgrade an alchemer, the better they become. Alchemers also have bouncing bullets which can hit multiple enemies, or if aimed right, can hit one enemy multiple times. The charge attack is also good on alchemers, it decimates crowds, and is extremely quick to execute.
-Piercing enemies, especially wolvers, are a pain to gun. I would advise getting either a pure damage flourish or cutter to take them down, it is so much quicker.
-As for callahan, it can stun-lock single enemies, but has crippling mobility and has rather low damage. A blaster line gun is my go to gun for fiends, as it has good mobility and 2 shots of valiance outdamages 1 shot of callahan vs fiends.
-Blitz, while very powerful, is hard to get used to. You can get it later on when you can dodge enemy attacks consistently. It's normal attack is rather inconsistent and weak, so it's commonly used only for it's charge attack.
-Polaris is alright, but I prefer my supernova. Supernova has consistent knockback, which is better for survivablity, and is good for killing gremlins.

3) By the time you get to 5*, you wont really get hit much. Pure shadowsun is good. The chaos set is also good, but fire and shock is a death sentence in it. The seerus mask is good if you get the expansion, and can be mixed with chaos to have lots of bonuses but still have fire and shcok resistance. Cyclops cap is also good to use before you get your 5* helmet.

4) In a party, a gunner should focus on taking out turrets, it will make other's lives easier. Blitz needs it charge attack to be effective, but roots you in place while using it. Antiguas also root you in place during the charge, but have low damage. Callahan has stops you moving when you fire, and the charge attack is even worse.

5) Boss missions being spammed nets youthe most money. The seerus mission is real money only.

You don't have to take all my advise, as I never was a pure gunner. It's nice to see people becoming gunners, don't let the wolver clones discourage you.

A shadow weapon? And about antiguas

I still need a shadow gun. Alchemer or Antigua line? Anyways, about the Antiguas. How exactly are they weak? Single shot too meh? Rate of fire is crap? Low magazine? Status effects of the Aclhemers outclass them?

The Antigua line has a six round magazine and low damage per hit. The rate of fire is decent, as far as I recall, but I haven't used mine for a while.

And one other thing, the Shadowtech and Prismatech lines of Alchemers don't inflict any status, which might serve you better than the status ones (Firotech, Cryotech and Voltech) as they don't suffer a shortfall in firepower anywhere. That said, people take Combusters into the Firestorm Citadel, so it's obviously not too much of a problem.

Alchemers are amazing. They

Alchemers are amazing. They take a bit a practice, but once you get the hang of them (and some CTR boost) you can do some massive dps to groups and single enemies alike.

@Gismor

Antiguas:
Large magazine (6 bullets), small shots with no knockback, very fast rate of fire, bullets travel very fast, great mobility (you can walk and shoot and you reload faster than any other gun, while moving) but their charge is awful-roots you in place and does low damage, that means you lose your mobility (Antigua without mobility=nothing). Antiguas are used as sidearms because of their mobility but gunners pretend Alchemers.
Alchemers:
Small magazine (2 bullets), larger shots with no knockback (can hit more than one enemy), rate of fire is OK, bullets travel very fast, after hitting an enemy or wall the bullet splits into two smaller bullets (ricochet), average mobility (you walk slow while reloading). The reloading can be painful, that's why you need to use Fire one bullet->move->fire one bullet->move OR bring two alchemers and do Switch shooting (this is a way to shoot Alchemer bullets very fast while moving, without reloading). The charge-large bullet that splits into four smaller bullets (after hitting something) and these smaller bullets can ricochete again. This charge can be DEADLY if used right.

That's it. If you just spam the attack button, the Antigua will outdamage the Alchemer but if you know how to use an Alchemer (how to hit enemies with its ricochetes),it can completely outdamage an Antigua.

Shadow gun:
See this- http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Biohazard , there's another shadow gun.
^I don't say it's good. xD

Everyone else has said what's

Everyone else has said what's on my mind except this: Get a swiftstrike shield. It's crap if you actually want to block things, but once you get good at dodging attacks instead of blocking them, the ASI boost is your best friend, especially if you're gonna use an alchemer. Of course, if it's your ONLY shield, then you can't get past 3* HoH, but that's why SK let's you get more than one shield.

So I've done a quick tier 1

So I've done a quick tier 1 run with starting armor, Owlite shield and an Autogun+Cryotech(Switched Autogun for an Antigua once I reached the boss levels, this was on my old account). 2.1k... I fear tier 2 isn't going to get me 7k+ crowns.

what i do

What ive done is use the 5* line of the antigua (both of them) and a blitz needle, then i use a dread venom striker just for those situations when you get swarmed and have to fight your way out. I also use a combo of the Perfect mass of serrus as well as a chaos cloak. Then a swiftsrike buckler and both a damage/attack speed increase for handguns bringing everything up to very high status (except for charge time reduction which is Max)

Granted you do take more of the lesser found damages like freeze, curse, and poison. But it is definitely worth it with the amount of damage i throw out.

Gunner

I am one of those wolver gunners. I use wolves because it was they were my first armor sets, but I find that i really like gunning. If i were to make gunner gear, which I am planning to I was going to make Deadshot, Justifier, and Nameless and switch them out according to the situation and always have a swiftstrike buckler on. I have argent, sententa, umbra driver, nova driver, and valiance. I first made valiance then the antiguas, but i find myself using the alchemers a lot more because if you aim at a corner, armpit, or right between two close foes with the charge it hits about a minimum of 4 times and can easily 1 shot a slag, slime, kat, or turret, however fiends are a huge pain with them and i just use valiance. Plus the low fire rate and 2 shot magazine makes things a bit more fun. Sorry I typed so much, but I hope I helped!

^ You'd be using all the gunslinger armors except the one that really matters, shadowsun.
Deadshot has a bonus to undead only and the extra ASI isn't that necessary if you're also using the swiftstrike.

Sure max ASI is better than high ASI but you don't need it to kill monsters.

Well I do have quite an

Well I do have quite an extensive experience about gunning, so here's my good ol' opinion:

1) Gunners must have a lot of patience. Leave the 'get swarmed' to the melee and bombers. And since Gunners keep a distance, be prepared to rush in to revive.

2) If you're going for alchemers, I would recommend not using Magma and Hail lines together, as the statuses cancel each other out. Go for either Hail or Prisma, and though Prisma has higher damage, but Hail has higher survivability, since the freeze can slow down incoming mobs. If you're having trouble Killing Wolvers, Umbra is best, but you will require a high amount of patience in order to wait for Tier 2/3 wolvers to stop. Devilites(Fiend group) have a high dodge rate, so no choice but to use a Flourish, but taking them out at maximum range with a Blitz is okay too. I would recommend crafting the 2* alchemers until you get at least CTR Medium. For armor, I would recommend the Justifier/Nameless Set, with a good shield to reduce enemy fire(if things get 'too hot').

2) The Antigua line is only a better choice if you're going for the Shadowsun set. If you're lucky enough to get ASI Medium, well, be prepared to click a lot faster.

3) I wouldn't recommend making Biohazard/Neutralizer/Polaris/Supernova/Callahan/Iron Slug, though it's quite fun to use. Still, the Alchemers kill a lot faster, and if you're skilled enough, you may want to try going toe-to-toe with a Trojan.
