That thought Vanaduke was Tikinzar for awhile when they first started? I know its actually really obvious that they are totally unrelated, but for some reason i felt Tikinzar had to be in the game, and the T3 boss was the logical pace. Granted it didn't take me real long to figure out i was wrong, (a week or 2 of playing) but still im wondering, am i the only one that made this mistake?
Am I the only one...
That this shouldn't be a mistake you can make. As in, you should be able to face Tinkizar at one point. But we've got the rest of the Order to go through first.
K so I feel a little dumb now. But agreed that we should be able to fight tikinzar! And where's the fiend boss!
I guess Maulos would be considered the fiend boss, although he is not in the main missions.
But that's not really what I asked. Anyone else? I'm starting to feel rather dumb
To be fair the story of spiral knights, at least the parts of the story that are directly told to us, are not told incredibly well. The parts that aren't directly told to us; that is, the scenario rooms, are well orchestrated.
(Why yes, I do have opinions. Imagine that.)
So what do you mean? I'm not really sure what point you are trying to get across?
That the dialogue is corny, extremely long, and not entirely cannon with itself.
For instance-
"A Recon squad has reported that deep within a fiendish city, devilites are attempting to summon a legion of powerful tojan warriors. Based on intel from a devilite internal memo, the trojans are known as the 'Legion of Ur,' and are said to have once numbered in the thousands. Strangely, the memo indicated that the Legion of Ur was sealed away in the Underworld and that an alternative approach would be required for bringing them back.
Whatever means the devilities intended to use to bring a few thousand trojans into the Clockworks, they must be stopped. Infiltrate their city and stop the fiendish army before they become unstoppable!"
Conflicts with the idea that Trojans = Knights as well as the idea that the devilites are trapped with us here. Now, you could try to justify by saying "I'm sure it will all make sense at some point! The devs are just being slow to explain these things..." but each update brings new things into the picture without explaining anything from before. We used to know that the kats attacked the owlites... and now we have this bizarre bit of lore about an event that occured?
And none of this has to do with why we're on cradle- to open boxes containing feathers, bits of metal and occasionally keys to evil dimensions that we must go to to investigate costume armor.
The story used to be straightforward, back in the day- now there is an overload of information that doesn't pertain to anything or make any sense. And whats up with the spiral order being like some kind of bizarre army tangent? It used to be that we were stranded, banding toghether with people... now we're in the military conquesting to fight vanaduke after forgetting about the artifact that the gremlins took back...
And the worst part, is that it leads nowhere- at the end of all of this, there are no answers. Just The Core: The Path is Sealed. and a guy telling you congrats and to keep playing the game indefinitely....
Keep in mind that that quote is from the mission The Return of UR.... This isn't a boss, this isn't a big thing, its just a completely random piece of story plot that somehow manages to take up almost 2 full paragraphs worth of space. Most people playing through the game just kind of accept whats happening without questioning it, and you sort of have to in Spiral Knights, because it takes forever to figure out whats going on, and you'll never get to any conclusions.
Well then. I continue to be confused. What prompted the post by Fehzor? it still isnt really what i wanted to no...
Oh. I was just saying that yes, it is an easy mistake to make, because of how the story is.
How did people even find out about Tikinzar? I forget if they're mentioned in the game; they probably are, i'm sure on the Crimson Hammer mission, or any other mission. They do say who Vanaduke is... so, I wouldn't really see players getting confused about this.
Honestly I have no idea how I would confuse the two, but I did. I can't remember when tikinzar is mentioned either.
@Lightyourfire
At some other threads, too, I don't remember posting in...
I don't think so...
