This way we can stop the shortage of shard.
In tier 1 momsters drop single shards as they do now.
Tier-2 -- monsters have a chance of dropping bundles of 3 shards.
Tier-3-- monsters have a chance to drop bundles of 5 shards.
This is in anticipation of the upcoming battle-sprites, where we definently have a shortage of shards.

That'd be nice. Or even just

That'd be nice. Or even just having a chance of getting shard drops from smashing minerals would work too (since they're just smaller fragments of minerals.)
Shard grinding is a pain.

Uh, no. How about we just get shards from monsters as usual, and sell them at their new price that's been increased by demand? Everyone wins. Except those greedy people that HAVE to have their Battle-Sprite at maximum level 30 minutes after the update is released. But they too win in a way. Just not at life.

Every day, I sacrifice a Knight Elite on my pentagram in the basement in hopes that the Seraphynx won't use whatever shards I've used for Brandishes and Troikas. Hopefully I'll be able to make some Flourishes, too. Maybe there'll be plenty of trading with friends, which would be nice.

My idea.

Now, this may sound absurd/stupid, but hear me out. (even though I'm sure this has been suggested before) What if we could crush minerals into shards? Not by simply hitting them, but by emptying them into a grinder, which requires energy to run for X amount of time. For every five minerals taking X amount of time to grind, a shard of the corresponding color is made. This would balance out supply and demand while not skewing it in one way or another. It would also be an alternative to throwing mounds of minerals into elevators for a paltry amount of coins.

I like Dementia's idea.

But it seems like the OP here is just saying "Soon the market will change and change is bad. Therefore we should prevent the change." Having more shards drop in T1 is weird, though.

(Witty sentence goes here)

I quite like this idea, as well as Dementia-Praecox's. Though can someone point me out the post which tells us about shards and their relation to battle sprites that I've missed?

"Players can feed materials to the Sprites for faster leveling and control the abilities they develop."

We just kind of assumed it would be shards.

Exactly, we should get more

Exactly, we should get more shards in tier 2 and 3 that's why they should drop bundles of them.

It makes no sense to break a huge chunk of shards and get only a tiny piece i feel that larger chunks should release less pieces then smaller shards just to keep the logic in place. Over all this idea of shards is a cool way to grind up on some shards especially ones like blue and green.
